This is different. Its just sharing XBL Accounts. Nothing you can do either since being able to use your XBL account on someone elses Xbox is something Microsoft plugs as a pro.

Ohhh, I thought the whole point of it was that you can use the sharing to download it to a different box, then hop on with a completely separate tag from the person who originally downloaded it and it would work.

I'm simply saying everybody is acting like children bickering over who gets in early and who doesn't. One could say I'm acting like a child because I'm trying to reason on here.

regarding people getting into this early by questionable means... i knew something was up, i had 2 shitty h3 matches in a row filled with a-hole douchebags teamkilling and basically ruining the game for everyone else. ruined my 45 or so game streak of fun and friendly games where everyone was out to have a good time while respecting otehrs at the same time
 
What I really don't get is why these guys who are now risking a ban just so that they can partake in the Halo 3 beta a few days earlier than planned spend so much time posting in this thread.

of course i do. thats how halo 2 is. yeah, you still get good matches with great players, but there is a shit ton of jerk offs. surprisingly, the beta up till today was chuck full of really nice people. honestly, in well over 40 games i never ran into a single jerk off. thankfully we'll be able to mute them completely, but that wont stop these guys from ruining others fun in more creative ways
 
I don't know why you're being so antzy, Rod. I was just joking. I even gave you a little lol smilie.

I don't think anyone will be banned either. There's just going to be too many people.

I couldn't care less about who gets banned. I just find deep irony that this exploit is all over the MLG forums. These are the guys who spend a crazy amount of time devoted to playing Halo. Bungie invites a few of them into the Friends and Family program, as a way to reward active community members and fans, and those same devoted "fans" who got lucky are the ones helping people to hijack the system. It's a Beta, not the full game, so I don't see how any real harm will come to Bungie out of it. But those "friends" are helping others potentially lose their Halo/Live accounts and take advantage of the trust Bungie put in them in the first place.

That's some ass-backwards definition of "fan". It's like telling a musician at a concert that you loved their album so much that you torrented it for all your friends and then sneaked them into the concert. Classy, guys.

Plus, everyone who is getting into the Beta early is going to spend 60, 70 or 130 bucks in September for the full game, anyway. And most of them probably already had their copy of Crackdown ready and waiting to go. It's not like they were planning for this. I don't know how Bungie can really be mad about it.

And didn't Shane Kim say in the interview on Gamespot that they want as many people as possible to play this?

I don't care if they get banned or not, but I'm starting to think the chances of it happening are not very high.
 
The only thing questionable was how Bungie chose to give out these invites, which top criterion seemed to be largely based on how much time you spent polishing Frankie's balls on Neogaf.
 
This is exactly why I was elated to get the Beta early. Come Wednesday the Beta will be filled to the brim with team-killing, screaming douchebag assholes. It's just sad that they have already infiltrated it.

Same. Plus i take classes in the summer and work so getting an extra weekend in really helps.
 
Sad to see segarr still here but life goes on.

Should be good to get some of you guys around and play same good team matches. :)
