I think the funniest part was where he kept humping the ground and staring at that guy. :lolraYne said:Yeah, it's like he was trying to get everyone's attention, and since the other guy was away from his system and never saw it, he just started hitting him.

The only assist I notice is with the Laser. The damn thing tracked me as I shifted side to side behind a rock.QVT said:I haven't noticed the aim assist except for one or two times when it possesses my controller and forces the target reticule to follow a guy for a while. Its only happened two or three times but its kinda amusing to be locked on like that.
I agree. They tweaked EVERYTHING that was wrong with the original Carbine. They made the ammo capacity larger. They made it shoot faster. They gave it better range. They made it more powerful. The problem is, they could have only fixed one or two of those things and it would have been great. I say reduce the ammo capacity, slow the rate of fire slightly and shorten the range.JB1981 said:I still think something needs to be done about the Covenant Carbine. It's just a rape-weapon. It has no kickback. It has sick range. It has sick power. And you can shoot it much, much faster than a BR. Headshots put people down in 3 seconds. Most overpowered weapon in the beta, by far, imo.

total agreement here, but since none of my friends seem to have noticed I am too busy shredding them and giggling to get really worked up about it yet.JB1981 said:I still think something needs to be done about the Covenant Carbine. I said the same a long time ago. It seems they're just making the Covenant weapons overall better than their human counterparts in this one.JB1981 said:I still think something needs to be done about the Covenant Carbine. Anyone else experiencing increased auto-aim?
I was just about to post that I've noticed it a lot more in BTB. I don't know if it's because you notice it more due to the lag, but I'll be walking and my crosshair will start moving towards and following a target.raYne said:Only in BTB or overall? I haven't really noticed any change lately. So if it's just the former, I have no idea since I've never played BTB, nor have I used the PP yet in general.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out when I play later.
Yeah, it definitely screws you up if you try to fight it when zoomed in.Son of Godzilla said:I definently noticed the auto-aim yesterday. Made sniping such a pain in the ass, as I'm the kind of guy that waits for people to enter my crosshairs rather than moving them to a person.

Good thing it's a beta. I hate the feel of the covenant weapons.raYne said:I said the same a long time ago. It seems they're just making the Covenant weapons overall better than their human counterparts in this one.
Carbine >>>> BR.
Beam Rifle >> Sniper.
etc.

I guess I'd rather the halo2 BR, this one is too nerfed, and it makes no sense to tone it down, but tune up the carbine at the same time. Heres hoping the brute rifle rips ass!
The sniper is perfect. On Halo 2 it was way overpowered. And the BR is the same, only with less aim assist and a little wider bullet spread (I believe)Dirtbag 504 said:I can't decide if I'd rather have a the human sniper back to normal (Halo2 style), or the BR.

I agree with this. If you are tagging someone from close range, it's very powerful and easy to drop them in just a few seconds. However, at anything approaching mid range (where using the scope is required) and I can't hit anyone. You need pin-point accuracy. I use it inside the base in High Ground to tag people just outside and within, but outside of that range and I'm hopeless with it. Definately a skilled weapon at range.Frenck said:Only if you can actually aim the damn thing. It would be overpowered if it didn't require as much skill as it does.
I'm too dumb to use it, so it's not really overpowered, it's just an expert weapon.
urk said:Who knows? I would point out though, that all of the weapons they've shown so far from the Brute sandbox are closer range, explosives focused weapons, so it doesn't see too likely that a rifle fits with their fighting style, but you never know. I could see something like a shotgun counterpart using spikes or something, but I think a clinical weapon would seem out of place for the Brutes.
Press start -> move right -> go to voice options and change it to "team and party".Tokubetsu said:My only complaint so far is the push to talk bullshit. I understand why they might have done this (cut down on bs chatter) but it's still a pain in the ass and sometimes i forget to hit the button before I talk. I don't think I'll ever get used to it.
YES. Flying wall of spikes FTW!Sullichin said:A brute shotgun akin to the flak gun from Unreal Tournament would be badass.
I think we're going to see areas in campaign which are focused on Brutes, and thus Brute weapons.urk said:Who knows? bouncing flak around corners etc. would be awesome.raYne said:They could add some flavor to it by dropping the overall damage to 3/4ths or half of the Human Shotgun and let the spike bounce off walls ala the Spiker.![]()
It's done on purpose so both screens get a proper aspect ratio.Uncle said:Why does my screen goe to 4:3 mode when I play with a guest? Is there something wrong with my settings or is it a "feature" of the beta?

Exactly. With the Carbine you can just *mash mash mash mash mash* the right trigger really fast and take out that dude with the BR.Y2Kev said:The point isn't that it's an "expert weapon," IMO so is the Battle Rifle if you want to use it effectively. And once you're at the point where you'd use the BR, I would go for the Covenant Carbine every single time. It's just more powerful.
I'm starting to like the Spiker Pistols a lot. I even tried noob combing one of them with a plasma pistol and it works great.
Sullichin said:Does your TV have a "stretch" feature that makes the picture fill up the whole screen?
EDIT: I don't think that would work, actually.
drohne said:i don't know if they've changed it, but i have noticed the auto-aim recently, particularly the "following players when they jump" effect that someone has mentioned.
