edit; is that 'who's watching' feature on Youtube new? Anyway, I was watching 'Master Chief Sucks at Halo' for the 36983th time when I noticed that Tieno was watching it too. I got all warm inside. Sup Tieno?

i remember reading about this in a bungie update a long time ago, and it doesnt look as if it made it into the beta.
anyone know what i'm talking about?

High Ground is designed that way. It's suppose to be a map for one flag or one bomb. Not Slayer.MaX_PL said:yeh same goes for high ground. on both maps the two more powerful rifles are given to one team. Carbine is stronger than BR and sniper when held by a good team, is always more useful than the laser.

Lots of folks both internally and in the Public Beta have pointed out that the Covenant Carbine has seen a tremendous increase in its effectiveness and that the Battle Rifle seems to be lagging behind it as a result. This week, Joe and Is teams spent a night testing the Carbine versus the Battle Rifle obviously they were functioning differently than they did in the public beta.
This constant state of flux makes watching your reactions to the beta more interesting, because while tears have been shed about changes or lack of changes to your favorite or least favorite weapons of all time, no weapon in the beta will perform exactly as it does now when the game ships. That could be because of subtle (and not-so-subtle) changes being made to the weapon itself or similar changes to other weapons in the game that affect the way the weapons in the sandboxes operate. But anyone who says the Needler is underpowered needs to lay off the meds. Come awwwwn.

So far the only real usefulness I've found with the active camo is that you can sneak into the base without getting on anyone's radar. It does make you too visible to really be useful as a real cloaking device. I remember distinctly the end of Two Betrayals, in the huge battle on the open snow, the cloaked Elites were nearly impossible to spot. In H3 you can see armor details without much effort. I suspect (hope) that too is being tweaked.thekad said:Good point about the Needler, but the camo seems to be pretty useless even in an absurdly bright map like Snowbound.

I'm at class, but I'll be on later this evening.kylej said:Anyone up for a game?
I should have figured. I landed in a custom lobby with some friends (just accepted the invite, wasn't looking for it) and checked out one option. It went something like four levels deep and had approximately seventeen thousand variants. I might be lowballing here. I don't even remember what option it was, but I basically tuned out after that. It was enough of a glimpse behind the wrapping paper. I'll wait to open the whole present on September 25th.Sullichin said:In custom games (shock gasp!) you can alter the active camo all the way up to "invisible".

Remember the new Halo 3 helmets revealed last week? They resembled those seen in the upcoming first-person shooter HAZE and Star Wars: Republic Commando. Now, following the Gamepro preview, The Toronto Sun has revealed further information regarding these armors; yes, thats plural.
The article on this Canadian newspaper revealed that there will be different armors for you to wear in Halo 3 multiplayer. The story revealed two of them; the CQB (close-quarters battle) and the EVA (extra-vehicular activity) armors. It seems youll be able to choose a certain type of battle armor for your Spartan to wear, with these armors providing certain strengths (ex: melee combat) while also make you more vulnerable in other areas as a required trade-off that assures a balanced gameplay.
It remains to be seen if there are more armor types.

no non no no no...do not make this damn game semi class based. PLEASE BUNGIE!!!
So if i have the shotgun in regular armor. And the enemy has the shotgun w/ CQB armor and we shoot each other at the same distance with the exact same health/shields; he may get the kill because of the ARMOR he's wearing?!?! No No No..please tell me i'm reading this wrong.
the real article?DopeyFish said:i'm glancing at the article now, and there isn't anything there that mentions anything but look

The underlined part is total speculation. That assertion is not in the original newspaper article at all. In fact, head over to http://halo.bungie.org and read the news there to read the article. I believe the Gampro article specified they are cosmetic skins as well.REV 09 said:Ok i definitely don't like the sound of this

As eagle-eyed Halo fans will have noticed from the images on these pages, players will be able to customize the appearance of their characters in Halo 3 multiplayer games, right down to mix and match helmets, shoulder pads and other bits of armour. The spacesuit like extra vehicular activity armour set looks especially cool, in a sort of bad-ass Neil Armstrong way. One small step for man...
look under the screen shots on the last page...there is more.DopeyFish said:duh. I live in toronto, I've got the newspaper right in front of me.
the one part it mentions the armor
CreepingDea7h said:Hmmm, I thought the names would be ninja, cobra, etc. Still, I have faith in Bungie not to do this to us - it wouldn't really make sense, as then it wouldn't be customization at all, you'd just be forced to use the armor which is closest to your playing style.
