Blu-ray.com has given video transfer 5/5 for this movie, saying that it's basically reference quality. It's weird however, blu-ray.com review is suggesting that the transfer looks rather noise-free, like as if DNR has been applied. In any case their 1080p screenshots suggest at a really good transfer, about what I remember seeing in the theater.
It's just weird though, it looks like all of a sudden everyone has gone onto some grain / DNR witchhunt and became an expert on the issue overnight. All I can tell is that looking at the 1080p screens at blu-ray.com the transfer has a naturally expected amount of grain for a recently made movie, shot on a 35mm film. Same amount of grain like what I've seen on Transformers screenshots for example, and that's considered reference quality transfer.EktorPR said:Awesome to know, then. I'm buying it, anyway.![]()

FFObsessed said:Heads up UKers. Amazon.co.uk has LOST Season 4 Blu-ray for £29.48.
Yes that's 51p cheaper than the DVD version :lol
Naked Snake said:That's also cheaper than Amazon.com's price. I would have ordered it if I didn't know that Disney region lock their BD releases, but I have a US version PS3.
It can be had from Borders.com for about $10 cheaper than Amazon with a coupon that expires tonight. But I never ordered from Borders before and don't feel like starting now knowing that you can't easily cancel an order with them, especially for a preorder that wont be out until December.
Ceres said:You sure the borders.com coupon works? Most won't allow you to use them on preorders. I haven't checked my e-mail for my Borders coupons though.

Was it me or did it look really fuzzy for being shot in 720p.
Costanza said:Just picked up Speed Racer and The Mist. If you buy any 2 new BR releases at BB this week you save $5, so that was nice.

It is the best Western made in recent memory, IMO (edging out 3:10 since it didn't have a crappy ending). I just ordered it yesterday.Jax said:this bluray movie is $11 at amazon. Apparently really good? I'm tempted!

The original Star Trek being remastered and released on HD DVD comes to mind.Roders5 said:I take it only recent tv shows will come out on bluray? Older ones probably weren't shot in HD? Or is the plan to eventually release everything on bluray?

I do believe that the plan is to eventually release everything on Blu-ray, just like they did with DVD, but that's going to take some time. As for shows like The X-Files, Justice League Season 1 is 4:3... so I'd guess they'd just release them as-is. Maybe clean them up a bit.captive said:I do wonder how they will do shows like The Xfiles, anyone who has the series on DVD knows that Season 1-3 or 4(i cant remember) are 4:3 and season 4/5-9 are widescreen.
