Supposedly a developer of Extreme Road Trip is corresponding with some people on toucharcade.

http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=162773

Says they are working on a patch but some are wondering if it's pretty deliberate. Obviously it's basically like spam and they are probably getting a lot of attention with it, even when you don't own the game itself.

The Gamecenter spam is the only reason I downloaded it. Then deleted it 5 mins later

Whelp, it's settled: Tactical Soldier: Undead Rising is the best XCOM-like on iOS. Hunters 2 is decent, but no, it's simply not better than this game -- not even close. GAF has got to take the blinders off occasionally...

they made another Dexter game? I would play it for the novelty but it looks kinda bad.

The Internet needs to take their collective blinders off about a lot of stuff. Like Letterpress. What a weak puzzle/word game. Yuck.

I'll be getting a 4th gen ipad tomorrow (first ios device). So I guess it being new means no games take advantage of the hardware yet huh?

I've been playing games like nova 3 and asphalt 7 on my s3 and they sometimes run at no so good framerates. Will they run better on the ipad despite the much higher resolution? And does nova 3 retain all its effects now? Last I read the ipad 3 was missing stuff.

Yes nova 3 runs full effects @ retina res on iPad 4. I only tried it briefly, and did not experience slowdowns.

Walking Dead is smooth, and so are Epoch and Max Payne.

Angry Birds Star Wars is really good, but why the IAP are getting more expensive each time.
More levels for 0,89€ for Space, 1,79€ for this one, the next one will cost the same price as the app to get the full game? (Talking about HD version)
And of course, the eagle...

Aerox is well worth a look while it's free. Tilt controls are very good, feels great on iPad Mini
I love marble games, but the tilt controls are awful on the iPhone 4S. Also the lack of checkpoints is really upsetting, especially when the controls act up right at the end, and you roll off the edge, and have to start back at the very beginning. I want to like this game, but those two things are getting in the way.

Letterpress is awesome.

Yeah, I get that a lot of people seem to enjoy it. In it's current form I find it to be overrated. It feels like the start of what would hopefully become a better idea for a game. My experience with it may be affecting my appreciation for it though. Right now every single game I play seems to play out slowly over days, which just makes the game awful. I could see if it were a constant back and forth it would improve it greatly.

I really think this is the difference. My girlfriend and I have two games going at any given time, and we're constantly playing throughout the day. I tried playing against random people, but they've all been really slow and I've since given up on random matches. .

you're missing the point of asynchronous multiplayer...

No, I'm actually not. The game doesn't play well (to me) in its current form.

Yep. A game like Words With Friends works great if you play fast or play slowly. Letterpress is terrible when played slowly (imo). Hopefully it evolves into something better that would make it a better experience.

I thought Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes was supposed to come to iOS sometime ago? What ever happened to that?

Sigh.
Apparently, no one knows.
I hope it doesn't share the same fate of Ghost Recon:Shadow Warrior (demoed last Christmas in what seemed a very polished version then....complete silence...probably canned).

How is Words With Friends a good game when played slowly, but not Letterpress?

I never liked Angry Birds in any incarnation and I do not want to enter the price/iap debate but....Angry Birds Star Wars is awesome.
I'm hooked...just entered the Death Star....absolutely awesome levels.
The blaster/lighsaber/force powers use is brilliant.

I have yet to use the Millenium Falcon (I've gathered 25 just playing) because I saw it's consumable and I do not know what is it for.

Anyway...I'm really surprised to say this, but I'm loving this little game.

Too bad it absolutely DEVASTATES the battery...not even Infinity Blade 2 was this demanding.

So I bought the HD version of Angry Birds on the Ipad and just for kicks I downloaded the free version on my Android phone. In the Android version there's R2D2 in the first levels but not in the Ipad version what's up with that?

I find out completely by luck/accident that the light saber deflect's laser blast. It's Star Wars so I guess I shoulda known. I'm going back to 3 star some levels I thought was impossible before.

There's never a doubt with Words With Friends what was already played.

Yep, I lose 10 percent battery life in about a half hour playing the game. I love AB Seasons, but this is just as good. I'm disappointed that the little birds that split into 3 little birds didnt get changed into something more Star Wars-y. They behave exactly like they do in other games. Boo.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but they are Y-Wing pilots and they split in 3 like the X-Wing and Y-Wing starships do when approaching the Death Star at the end on Star Wars.
I found that very cool.

BTW, I just unlocked Darth Vader....PURE AWESOMNESS!!!!

If you pay the .99 you can see what was already played in Letterpress also.

I like Letterpress much more than WWF so far. As someone said in article I read comparing the two, WWF is just too damn tedious for me.

Fantastic. I played through all of them on both iPad and PS3, and they were pretty much identical.

All the telltale games I have played have run like shit on the ipad. The walking dead even has stuttering and audio sync problems on the 360, so I doubt it runs flawlessly on the ipad.

Just 'completed' Angry Birds Star Wars.
It was awesome, last level is fantastic.
Now I must unlock the remaining bonus levels and wait for Hoth campaign.
And maybe buy the Dagobah expansion.
Does anyone know what the second medal below Tatooine, near the star counter, is for?

Are there any other games like Knights Pen and Paper? A turn based RPG with some good character/party customization and a lot of replayability in the way of finding the best equipment and fighting hidden bosses.

I just found out Derek Yu (Spelunky, Aquaria) made an iOS game called Diabolika but apparently it's no longer on the Appstore. Does anyone know what happened to? And for those who played it, how is it?

That's for levels you've completed with the mighty (millennium) falcon.

Huh, I was pretty sure I had that but it's not on my iPod or iPad and it's not in my purchase history. It was a pretty fun puzzle game where you could set up some really long chain reactions, but it could have ramped up the difficulty faster. Games would take forever. The PC version is freeware.

So somebody here on GAF recommended Cause of Death.

Now, I'm not usually one for interactive novels but I found myself burning through volume 1 (which is free). Might check out volume 2 and onward. Surprised by the fact that what normally wouldn't hold my interest did. Kudos to whoever recommended it.

I think it's your imagination. Their behavior is the exact same from all the other games. Only difference being they wear helmets now. It's really disappointing to me that Rovio couldnt be bothered to give them some Star Wars makeover in the move department. I hate all the levels they're a part of. I just want to move on to more Han levels. Those are by far my favorite now.

Letterpress is fun, but the game is VERY flawed.

The person make the last move usually wins the game (if he isn't stupid). Even in a game with a 18-5 lead, the losing side can win the game by making a 7 letter word - which is very easy to do in this game. What this does is making both sides afraid to play the last few unplayed tiles.

I think this can be remedy by making the board bigger. Thus making the turn around less easy (as it requires longer word).
