Hard to say. Minotaur Rescue is probably the better pure game, but I've been playing Minotron pretty much every day since it came out. Easily two of my favorite games on the platform.
Both it is! Heh, thanks.

just bought forget.me.not and i'm having tons of fun with it. it's basically pacman meets space invaders meets rogue. gonna try some multiplayer with the wifey tonight. i tried it out myself and each player controls their character using opposite sides of the screen. the retro graphics and sound are ace. definitely take a look if this is your cup of tea.

edit: it's universal and $1.99
Oh shit, this game has my number. I'm amazed that people are making this stuff! So cool.

@ Dash Kappei thanks for that post! the pinball tables are pretty decent scaled on the ipad.

Also need to keep away from S&S news, is the game releasing 11pm east coast Wednesday or Thursday?

To be honest, i am not sure how this works. It's out Thursday...

I have an iPhone and I'll have an iPad 2 soon, and I need GAF opinion.

I have a lot of games, and I don't want to buy them again for iPad. Also, i prefer to play the game in both platforms, so I don't know if buying the new games in HD version (when available), or the regular version.

As far as I know, iPad conversion only give problems in the games that uses virtual analog, or buttons, isn't it?

I've never had a problem with universal apps. If you wanna play iPhone games on the iPad, I'd jailbreak and get Retinapad. It uses the retina resources from the iPhone version to run it in HD instead of just magnifying it.

Yeah, I know that universal apps works perfectly in iphone and ipad, but I'm talking about the games that I already have in iPhone and there is a iPad-only version.

They'll work fine, they're just not going to look great, and the UI's will be weird.(giant dpads and buttons, that kind of thing). I found that after getting an iPad, I don't like playing games as much on my iPhone, but YMMV.

It varies a lot from game to game. Some iphone games are fine, like Hot Springs Story, others I found unplayable, like NOVA. You'll probably have to test each app and see how it feels.

Haha. Because my ego wasn't large enough I liked having a bunch of gamecenter requests today :) . I'll go and add some of the list when I get a chance tomorrow. Gamcenter does need to link up the HD versions and non-HD versions for score comparisons though.

Also, I am [emphasis]fucking[/emphasis] obsessed with buying games. The 99 cent sell point is unbelievable at getting me to impulse buy. Although I draw the line at Crystal Defenders' price because it is a glorified defense game. haha

Touch Arcade mentioned something about Thursday releases are typically up at 11pm EST WED. Too lazy to fact-check this post so don't quote me but I think I'm right!

oh god so many new people to add to my GC and OF lists... does anyone know of a faster way of doing it than typing them all out on the poxy iphone keyboard?

Super hyped for S&S on the iPhone, April can't come soon enough! Steering clear of the thread until then for fear of spoily spoilers...

So the new Dungeon Raid build is up, with classes and harder difficulty levels and all sorts of wonderful amazing stuff. Plus 75 achievements. SEVENTY-FIVE!

I just searched this game on the App Store and... is it what it looks like? Azkend meets Puzzle Quest? That is a dangerous combination for my free time. Please advise.

I don't know what Azkend is, but it's basically a rogue version of Puzzle Quest. You can gain money, exp, shield upgrades, skills etc, while taking out skulls in match 3+ gameplay. You can actually match anything that is the same in horizontal, vertical or diagonal proximity. Take out skulls by matching them with swords.

Okay, Forget-Me-Not greatly intrigues me, but how does it play? I think I'm done buying iOS games that use virtual d-pads/etc.

In one and a half hours I will tell you because it's bought and sitting on my phone waiting for my lunch break :)

I only now just noticed the real names of the people on my GameCenter friendlist....... Wtf?!
Wow.
Yeah, I've noticed this the moment I tried to add someone on my friend list in GC. It tells you right away that your real name will be visible to the person you're trying to add, and your name even appears there. Strange decision to be honest, and it will probably limit size of friends list for many people.

I know there's a topic about jailbreaking an ipod touch, but there are so many different ways to do it. I'll just ask here: can anyone tell me how they jailbroke their ipod touch? Maybe a link to a website explaining things. I don't want to literally destroy my ipod.

The controls are exactly like Pac-Man on the iOS devices. (swipe to change direction)

no virtual d-pads on this one. you basically move your finger in the direction you wanna move.

Thanks, I'll probably pick it up later today!

Let me guess, delicious pixel graphics.. but they look like blurry shit on iPhone 4?

Sigh.

Just been playing it, I'd say it's a pretty good time waster but I'm not entirely sold on it yet. The graphics are crisp (look like Retina to me) but they're super-basic, the game would be a lot prettier with a kind of Pac-Man CE neon haze to it.

The game is very much Pac-Man with a gun, your character shoots ahead of itself so you can shoot the various beasties. One way it differs from Pac-Man is that the mazes can have things that are more like 'rooms' rather than the pure corridor action of Pac-Man. TBH I'm not sure if I like this aspect of it, part of the fun of Pac-Man is the corridor running nature of it. By removing that, and the chase element (that I've seen so far at least) the game loses a lot of the brilliant tension that makes Pac-Man great.

The controls are fine though, as noted upthread it's pretty much the iOS CE controls, swipe to change direction.

Does anyone have any idea what the difference is with different difficulties. Given that achieving a high score is the point of this game I'm not really seeing a point to choosing normal difficulty vs hard or vice versa. Any thoughts?

I'm still on my first game after the update in normal, so I can't say, but I would assume the scoring is higher on hard, or there wouldn't be any point.

Final Fantasy III is now out in Japan.
1800 yen is the asking price...

Yeah, I'm kind of not sure at that price.
Might just wait for a sale.
No Game Center, so no achievements either.

The AI also doesn't chase like the ghosts in Pacman, but rather huddle around each other so there is more tension from being hit with yr own bullets than from the ghosts.

The level design is also too small for the swipe controls, making tight turns around a block is clumsy at best.

The trailer says $15.99 which I assume is USD.

Yeah, although I do quite like the idea that you can be hit by your own bullets. It adds a small layer of strategy since you want to key ASAP to use as a sheild. I also like how the monsters will steal the key.

Also, since there isn't the same speed-up mechanic as in CE the controls aren't quite as bothersome. Although saying that, I can see players that haven't cut their teeth on iOS CE being weirded out by the controls.
