OMG, Wario broke the game!

It is a bummer that it turns into a matter of patience. I like the feeling that I should escape a level. Sticking around to grind forever kinda kills it. I wanna see what level comes next!

In my experience I've found less games have lites/demos then ones that do.

Really? It seems to me I have noticed them for many of the games I have tried. Regardless, I need to utilize the lite version to test run the game. The lite model could be all I need to enjoy the game, or it will provide me with the realization that the game isn't for me, or isn't worth paying $2.99, but maybe worth watching the price.

Found that iPhone Explorer allows me to extract artwork from certain games on my phone -- so I decided to create some sprite sheets of a few games :)

Always go for the biggest chain possible - don't bother killing 1 or 2 enemies when you can collect 10 health potions, even if you don't need health potions. That was the biggest problem I had at first. I tried to kill all the enemies as soon as possible, but you just waste turns that way.

Choose your special skills wisely and wait to get the skills you want. I prefer to play with (I don't know the names): Double Shield, Coins to Swords, Swords to Shields, and usually Teleport or the Item upgrade one. Usually I can set up a big shield combo by changing coins to swords, then swords to shields, then double shields and profit. This usually nets me 3 or 4 upgrades at once.

Using this strategy I can score 30k+ pretty easily.

wow thanks-my previous high score was a mere 3246 and using this strategy I posted 6656-I would have done better, but I got caught in a pickle with no way out...

Yay. Now I'm number 70 on the all time list for FMN. And number 4 among my current friends.

Making the best use of combos as I can. Damn the enemies that eat the flowers too and ruin my chance at a low of points.

If anyone hasn't added me, I'm Jasoco everywhere. Friend me up!

Two totally different games. Flick Golf is more of a distance-to-the-pin type game where you get points for hole-in-ones, the spin you use, how close to the pin you get, consecutive hole-in-ones, etc. Every "course" is a par 3 type deal. It's more of a score attack type game than a traditional golf game. That said, it's totally solid and an interesting take on golf.

Of course Tiger Woods 12 is your traditional golf game.

I have Flick Golf and will get Tiger Woods 12 tonight...totally compatible as they are very different. It would be like having both FIFA/PES and Flick Kick Football.
Is Flick Golf made by Sidhe as well? I love Flick Kick Football. Hopefully it's universal (or has an HD version with shared highscores) and touch controls are as well implented as in FKF. Anyway, If more people buy it so that we can build a nice leaderboard I'm doen for it, concept is appealing.
Edit: I guess it's not made by Sidhe/PikPok, but if you say it's good I'll trust ya :)

About Tiger Woods, I'd be down for it if it's possible to play multiplayer thru 3G. Having also the possibility to play multiple asynchronous multiplayer matches would be gold. What can you tell me about that?
Although I'd probably wait for a sale, I don't like playing Tiger W alone and I bet only you and me would be willing to put down those 6$ right now :P

No, made my someone else.

We have done Flick Kick Football, Flick Kick Rugby, Flick Kick Aussie Rules, Flick Kick Field Goal, and Flick Kick Field Goal Kickoff (free ad supported). We have a Flick Kick Football update which has already been submitted which fixes 2 multiplayer issues we introduced in the last update, and two more Flick Kick Football related titles in submission (one of which might be of interest to you depending on your taste, the other not so much).

We have another sports title on the way which may be released late April/early May too, but it is quite a departure from the Flick Kick series though.

Inspired by Game Dev Story, meet Star Command, a new Star Trek like spaceship simulator!

Players can build their vessel in their own image – if you prefer a scientific, peace oriented game style you can build long rang scanners and diplomatic facilities to encourage peace and information exchange. Players more focused on settling disputes through force can build their Starship with multiple weapon bays and reinforced hull to absorb heavy damage.
Throughout the game players can hire and manage their crew. Crew members have a variety of skill sets and each of these comes into play when performing tasks on board like research, tactical, engineering and more. Crew members gain new skills as the game progresses making them more and more valuable.

Players can explore the universe, discovering black holes, nebula’s, new planets and eventually make contact with new races. Diplomacy comes into play as some species are naturally drawn to combat while others may be more willing to join you – even exchanging officers on your crew.

It sure looks like a promising timesink if I ever saw one!

Figured I had spent enough time 'training' in the easiest setting (in iPhone mode) in DoDonPachi Resurrection. Tried 'normal'. HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS THIS GAME IS SO MUCH PRETTIER WHEN THERE'S FOUR TIMES MORE BULLETS AND STUFF.

Seriously. This is pretty mind-blowing and so much fun to play... Damn... Took a long time for this game to grow on me but I friggin' love it now.

I need a release date now.

Summer :(

It's almost better to pretend the game doesn't exist for the next 3-4 months, so the wait is bearable. It could be the most awesome simulator I've ever seen though, depending on how deep it is.

Build a ship, hire crew, research tech, explore galaxies, attack and defend against aliens, diplomacy, and more (such as recruiting alien crew members)! Hell, just building a ship in my own image will be sweet enough.

Maybe there'll even be miniature giant space hamsters! Now time to forget this game exists.

why do you do this? first you tease what looks like to be the best concept I've ever heard in a video game and then you say we should forget the game?

Holy shit with that Star Command. Now I'll have to re-schedule my holidays.
Is it universal? Or just iPhone. Because I have decided to no longer buy games unless they either have universal or HD versions.

STOP it GAF! Stop it right now. You cant start hyping this game this early, pretend this never happened and go back to buying available iOS games you'll never play

Patience. It is a difficult concept. I apologize!

At least there's the upcoming Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery to lessen the blow for those of us with no iPad.

Behold, the greatest thing I have ever discovered for touch screen gaming:

Not this particular brand or anything, but if you're sticking to the screen when you swipe, lube up fellas!

I hate that frictiony feeling after you just wash your hands and swipe across the glass. Feels bad man.

Sounds awesome, can't wait to play the new games.
You guys shouldfind new ways to implement your wonderful touch inputs code into new and diverse games. I've already asked for a Sega Soccer Slam inspired game, what about a WindJammers "clone" (the Neo-Geo game with frisbee/pong/superpowers based gameplay? ;)

Edit: meh, so many spelling mystakes... I blame the virtual keyboard :P

Glad I could help! Some people like to get the teleport spell just for those times when you are stuck with no moves to make. It's very useful, and I'll take it if it's offered to me before the upgrade skill.

What great games have you guys gave up on and just stopped playing?
For me I never finished angry birds! And kinda stopped playing PvZ!
Do you guys ever get back to games after awhile or do they forever linger on your iPhone? Those are only a couple of examples but i find that I don't finish alot of games that I buy. Am I the only one?

A matte screen protector fixes that, and on the iPad is a must have imo

Had a matte screen rote tore on my ipad1. Quite liking the shiny shiny uncover ipad2 screen my iPad 2 is sporting. Bit weird using the stylus now though...

Many games don't have staying power, but they're so cheap I don't mind. Same thing happens on the expensive game console titles too, little more annoying when I get bird of a game on them.

Eventually play good ones to finish though, PvZ took a while for example...partially because I had finished it before on PC, but also because it's hard to play for more than a few rounds at a time for me.

Angry Birds, Puzzle Agent. Some games I play until I get some achievements (or all of them) then delete it. I need to finish Cut the Rope.

I'm still relatively new to iOS, having just purchased an iTouch about three weeks ago. I was wondering, does having multiple apps open at once (without properly quitting them) effect the performance of games? Also, my home button often feels finicky and unresponsive (especially when double-clicking it). Wasn't sure if that was normal or not.

You shouldn't have any problems. Depending on the game, starting up after a multitask may lag a bit, but it should smooth out after a few seconds. If you have performance problems, hit the home button twice, and a list of your most recently used and active apps should appear. Hit the X button on them (this won't delete them, just close the application).
