I agree that they take some getting used to but after getting the feel for the physics and using a control setting that works for me, I am *loving* it. The races are a blast and the elimination stuff is really fun too. Big improvement over the previous Asphalt and probably by far the most fun arcade racer I've played on the platform.
It does have a bit of lack of polish and soul (it's still gameloft) but it's very minor with Asphalt 6, the game is definitely a blast to play for me.

Max and the Magic Marker is fucking awesome. Like holy fuck so good. So polished and fun and pretty to look at. It's one of those gems.

World of Goo, no iPod support - world of boo!! 
The game itself is pretty cool so far, although my fingers totally get in the way so I often have to crane around to see if the next blob is going to connect. But still, the iPod think pisses me off, I doubt I'll get much chance to play it on my commute.
The only game I'll not mind the sound on is Sword and Sworcery, can't wait to hear that game.

From what I've gathered, the iPad version is worth the investment. There are actually gameplay differences between the two (they show more of the level on-screen in the iPad version vs pinch to zoom on iPhone). Also, the iPad version is universal.
I just hate playing anything at 2x on the iPad.

What does wall rubbing in Forget Me Not actually do? Does it make your shots more powerful?
Supposedly you're supposed to damage enemies by running into them after rubbing the wall a bit, but I've never seen this happen. I've even hit enemies when flashing red about to explode from wall running and they don't seem to take any damage. Are you supposed to finger-swipe into them once you've rubbed a wall for awhile, or what?

It's personal opinion, but I've forced it on my friends a half dozen times, and the result is always "yeah, let's never play that again." It's 'funny' in the way most sitcoms think they're funny, and the jack attack makes everything that comes before it pretty pointless.Lothars said:

Wall-rubbing, or grinding, charges you up so you can drive through enemies, popping them. First you'll flash grey and white, then you'll flash red. It also makes you a little faster. If you grind too long you'll explode. The trick to it is to keep grinding on and off around the maze, that way you can just bulldoze through loads of enemies. There are some that can only be killed like this and there are some like the multiplying bugs where you can get mega points by exploiting them.

Been playing a fair bit of World of Goo this evening and I've got to say... it's annoying the shit out of me! There's this level Tower of Goo where you need to build a tower straight up and fuck me sideways if I cannot find a way to beat it. It's gone through fun and past annoying into "I need to turn this off before I cry" territory. Not cool.
Also been playing a lot of Hunters HD today, another turn based strategy game after I posted about Tactical Soldier. It's totally awesome. Beautiful graphics and UI, super slick play, just a perfect strategy game. I liked Tactical Soldier but I love this. The only ways Tactical Soldier was better was the 3D engine (which was also probably why it was so sluggish) and the behavior of the weapons which was far superior. In every other way Hunters HD is the perfect strategy game for me.

Remember, unless you do as told here, your IRL first and last name, taken from your Apple ID, will be shown to your GC friends since firmware update 4.3. If you value that information and want GAF's leaderboards to show your proper nickname instead, here's how you do it:
Done, now that's who you're going to be listed as on your buddies' GC friends list from now on; this will affect GC *and* your Apple ID. If it's the same account you use for App Store/iTunes (like me), you will still be able to use it for iTunes/App Store's purchases (you can still buy whatever you want like you could before) *BUT* in the receipt it'll show your nickname or whatever you chose as First Name and Last Name when you changed those fields. The first time you will use the modified account on APPstore/iTunes, you will be asked to verify the account by re-entering the 3 digits code of the credit card's CCV security code (if you make your purchases using a credit card, like I do).

With support for Gamecenter and Openfeint growing by the day, it seemed a good idea to give Gaffers one more reason to check out highscore leaderboards/online multiplayer, while boosting flavour-du-jour iOS game's appeal. I'm also often posting screenshots of GAF-only leaderboards during this challenges: those are GAF-only related profiles and don't include any of my IRL friends, go on and add them on the spot if you missed some of them from the list! Just befriend me on OF if you want to be a part of those challenges/GAF leaderboards, and remember to always send a friend request letting us know who you are on GAF, this is just to keep non-registered users from spamming our accounts.

- Send me a PM if you want to be added to the list or taken off the list, following this EXACT same text formatting
e.g. GAF name = name [GC/OF/Plus+] or, if you've got different profile names (or if you just use one Friends Service), with GAF name = name [GC] / name [OF] / name [Plus+]; then add which iOS platform(s) you own
- When you add someone, add FROM GAF to the friend request and your NeoGAF name so to easily tell who's who and avoid unknown non-registered lurkers
- Send Flunkie a pm if you are ALREADY on the list but want to update your profile with more info like iOS platform(s) owned (it's cool to know who has an iPad for all the games with separate SKUs), Plus+ profile or to just change your existing GC or OF profile. Just remember to include your number on the list in your PM
- We are on the list and, if you are too, it's ok to add us even if we're not best buddies; don't be shy: we enjoy having more GAFfers challenging us on the friends leaderboard.
- Don't just wait for others to add you first you should at least add some of the profiles posted above yours if you want to get the ball rolling... It's really up to you. Ideally the last member of the list will be the one to add the profiles above his, and so on and on with each new member. Or maybe just add whoever you like, that's also an option

- Now chose "View my Account" and you'll be prompted for your password

The problem I have with the list is that I can't remember where I left off last time I added people, so I can't tell if I forgot anyone. And the GC app doesn't help at all since I can't even tell what order it's sorting people in. Plus some are named with real names, some with user names.

With Open Feint of course you have the nicknames, Open Feint is great and it also has cross-plaltform leaderboards (facebook, Android asap), friends messaging, challenges and whatnot. It's just a bit of a hassle to add people, I just did a couple every day so it doesn't take that much time... less than 60 Gaffers are on the OpenFeint list.
