come on my sandwich is the best quote all week. anyways looking forward to watching this tomorrow morning. spacey is a good guest on any show. interested to see how well he gets along with colbert.

Carol Burnett is awesome. She was pretty funny on the Colbert Report, but even better here.

Spacey and Colbert had some excellent tension between being nice and being a little cutting. That seems to be Colbert's sweet spot for the celebrity stuff.

The show is improving, but the bandleader guy is still the least charismatic human on television. Just looks like a goof all the time.

Yeah, they don't seem to have a ton of chemistry yet.

And he seems to be late or doesn't know when to do musical cues to accent a joke or exchange with guests

Yeah, REALLY not liking the band or its leader.

I do love how Colbert is still doing bits on the news like on his old show.

Max Weinberg is still the GOAT.

The Spacey/Burnett bit was awesome. Classy. Though I'm sure a lot of younger people didn't know who she was and didn't get the Stewart impression.

Nope, just to say he's on tomorrow night.

Bumped Naomi Watts, I guess?

Jon Stewart’s successor will visit the CBS late-night series along with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and musical guest Chris Stapleton, replacing Naomi Watts, who was originally billed to appear.

Worded that way, I guess I can't 'blame' it on Noah. So that's cool. I'm thrilled to see what he's like on one of these shows. But Watts has been one of my favorite actors ever since Mulholland Drive, my favorite film. I'm sure Stephen will make it up to her. Same goes for the Broad City cast, for that matter.
You guys think Colbert bumped Naomi Watts? Really? Guarantee you she had to cancel and Noah agreed to replace her.

Absolutely loved last nights show. The only thing that felt flat for me was the Planet of the Apps bit. It had its moments but it didn't really do anything for me. Hope Colbert brings back something like Threat Watch. One of my favorite segments.

Kevin Spacey is always such a great guest. Will be interesting to see how Noah sells himself tonight.

I agree. There's something weird about his mannerisms. I can't point it out but I know it's there. Maybe his dancing? I don't know.

Yeah, I was waiting for Colbert to discuss bears (BEARS!) as a threat but hey, spiders are threatening too ;-)

Damn you guys are so hard on Batiste. The guy is not really an entertainer, he's a musician. He's being shoehorned into an entertainer role (ie, Colbert wants him involved despite his limitations). Give them time - they'll eventually figure out what works and what doesn't, but it's good that they're leaving him exposed out there instead of sheltering him.

I don't know why they seem to be withholding Batiste, he seems eager and willing. Have yet to get even just a simple conversation between him and Colbert.

Thank you..and I'm not just saying that because you're a cat.......
Honestly I'm baffled that you and so many others thought the video (esp the joke about RTJ3 taking until 2029) was at all genuine, heh. to the point that el-p has had to do damage control on twitter
The fact that Meow is supposedly happening makes me question everything..

Yeah, I've watched every episode so far and he hasn't said a single joke. Maybe he's funny, I dunno, but he hasn't made an attempt to be.

i dont know anything about the guy, but so far he just does funny things that probably arent really supposed to be funny. whenever he says "yeahhh!!!" or plays his melodica thing its just funny to me

I think they second week episodes so far are much stronger than the first week already, especially the interviews. People should have faith in Colbert.

I do like the recurring joke where Colbert asks the band something and they all respond at the same time for a few seconds. Reminds me of something that would happen on Conan.

yeah, i like it too. i feel like its something that i've seen as a joke before elsewhere, but i couldn't say what
