Hello NeoGAF,

I wanted to make a thread and alert you to a fellow member of this forum, a member going by the name DrewM1788 (real name :Andrew Meduri), who has a weekly gaming talk show called The Level Up Show on Twitch. He started this show at the launch of the PS4 when everyone was streaming shows via the PlayStation Camera (they have since upgraded their equipment, at their own expense, to give the fans the best show, and put out, the best quality product possible because of their commitment to the show). Think the Spartan Show (remember them?) if the Spartan Show survived 2+ years and if the hosts of that show were actually knowledgeable about the gaming industry. Andrew started this show from his apartment as seen here in one of his very first broadcasts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khenV9tMgJ8 and grew the show to having a whole basement in his new home dedicated to the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drY...x=124&list=PLe8RPlQ4dhsdPYzvs3wSN-DG7sAMMXaSI . Andrew not only writes every weekly show himself, he creates the visuals for the segments, as well as researching the news stories and preparing the videos to go along with the news stories himself all the while not letting the work get to him and letting his passion for this industry and his viewing audience shine through. And since Andrew is from Neogaf this is basically Neogaf: the show (which I know a lot of you wanted for awhile here) so if you ever wondered what a fellow member thinks of all the news coming from this forum this is the place for you. If you even give the show one second of your time I’m sure you will be as enthralled as I am with this show and all the love and heart put behind it.

Along with Andrew the show has a cohost Mike McLaughlin, "the classy douchebag", below is a description of them and what you can expect from them while enjoying the show :

Mike- Hosts a show called SamckTalk Sundays for the show where he, well, trash talks games and vents his frustration. If you laugh over people raging over games, this guys for you. The games he plays are usually of the Destiny/ The Division vein but he also streams Overwatch quite a bit as of recent. He also loves Diablo and has recently played Rocket League and Alienation with viewers and did a hilarious stream of the awful recent sequel to Homefront: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1O6xoqVKWWo He will most likely be getting Destiny 2 so if you want to see good coverage of that game or want someone to play with he's a good bet for that.

Andrew: host of the show but has a great knowledge of videogames. He loves everything Final Fantasy and the emotional journey a game can take us on. I was very touched by a story he shared about his family’s reactions to watching him play the game Journey as well as the experience he had himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntGkFx2hBi8. He also livestreamed on the channel his reactions to both the FF7 remake fake out that was just a port of the original game to PS4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdteVHiq4To) as well as his reactions to the remake when it was officially announced ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIHyxexLJek). He is truly a gamer, he is a part of this great community and “one of us” on GAF, and I believe you should give his show a shot.

But most importantly, the show just likes to let loose and have fun as seen in these hilarious lipsync battles they put on for their fans (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqGaQ_gJ860, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_Hnx8Zbi3k, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYhaW7kWGRE, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6xV0G1_0iA) The show also gives back to the community by being a part of Extra Life, which gives money to hospitals to support sick children.

The Level Up Show's schedule is as follows:
*Weekly*
Variety Gaming w/ Andrew - Monday, Wednesday, Friday (9 PM PT/12 AM ET)
The Level Up Show - Tuesday (9 PM ET)
Smacktalk Sunday with Mike - Sunday (10 PM ET)

*Monthly*
The Netflix Club - First Monday of every month (9 PM ET)

The Level Up Show airs at 10pm ET/7pm PT every Sunday. You can find them on Twitch.Tv at https://www.twitch.tv/thelevelupshow, on twitter at https://twitter.com/thelvlupnetwork, and on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2yXLHSnga3wxyLEhdRwgaw and if you want to support the show if you like it so it can grow and become even better you can at their patreon page at https://www.patreon.com/thelevelupnetwork?ty=h. They are doing a special 12 hour stream on Monday starting at 11:30 AM ET/8:30 PT covering all the major E3 conferences and they would love to have you join them. I look forward to seeing you there.

First off...a huge thank you to Jon (netguy) for putting this thread together. As a member of this site (more of a lurker) for the past almost nine years, it's super special to have a thread dedicated to a passion project of mine. If it's not obvious, this is Andrew Meduri. I'm the host of The Level Up Show as Jon calls me (although I don't like to refer to myself as the host haha).

I never thought it was even possible that a thread could be created on NeoGAF focusing on our shows, but now that Jon has made it a reality, I really hope that our already existing community can utilize the forums as a great way to communicate with us and share in the excitement of what we try to do. On top of that, NeoGAF is home to the most dedicated gamers in the world as well as professionals within the industry and the thought of potentially bringing some of those members into our community is tremendously exciting.

I hope that some of you will give our channel a shot. Check out just one of our latest episodes live on Twitch or archived on YouTube and I really think most of you will enjoy what we're doing. We're not professionals within the gaming industry. We don't have countless inside connections or early access to games. However, we are insanely passionate about gaming and treat The Level Up Network like a full time job. It's on our minds every minute of every hour and we're always trying to improve upon what we've started. So besides just checking out our content, please let us know where we can improve. If there is any community that we'd love to cater to, it's certainly NeoGAF.

I hope to talk with you all soon. Until then, take care and LEVEL UP!

P.S. Our next episode goes live at 10:15 PM ET on twitch.tv/thelevelupshow (10:15 because we like to give our viewers time to recover after Game Of Thrones) Hope to see some of you then!

Great show tonight. We hit 100 viewers for the first time in a very long time and I wonder if a lot of those viewers were from GAF. If so, thanks to everyone that joined tonight. We were happy to have you.

The Level Up Show is live

https://www.twitch.tv/thelevelupshow

They are doing a special 12 hour live stream (well it will end after the Sony show reactions) and every host has a prediction bet on what they expect to see at the show, they will compare their bets at the end of each conference and whoever has the most predictions at the end of the day will get $60 for a game of their choice. Also, they are having bets with the chat on all the conferences where they can earn XP( the streams currency on the show) where you can enter into raffles they have to win PSN codes and other things on the show. See you there for a fun day and good times!

First off, I just wanted to say how happy I am that my first NeoGAF post can be about a community that I've grown to love so much. Jon, thank you very much for setting this thread up... and of course, thank you Andrew. You have put an unbelievable amount of work into helping make The Level Up Network what it is today. I couldn't even begin to express how much this great group has done for me, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

I've always had the pleasure of having friends who played games. With that said, almost none of them bothered trying out different genres, cared about the industry news or had a serious view of gaming. If I really loved something about a game, whether it be the soundtrack or the story or whatever, it was nearly impossible to find anyone to talk to about it... That all changed when I clicked on Live From PlayStation one night and saw my first episode of The Level Up Show. I loved how welcoming they were, how knowledgeable they were and how they found ways to involve the viewers in almost every segment of the show. Instantly, I was a fan. I watched every week, having a great time watching and talking to everybody in the chat. As the show grew, so did the community. I quickly made dozens of close friends who shared the same interests, and I no longer had the issue of not knowing people who cared about gaming. I had found plenty.

Tonight (8/14/16) at 10 PM ET, they'll be doing Episode 134 of The Level Up Show on their Twitch channel. Feel free to stop by and check out the show for yourself. You'll be welcomed in immediately by everyone. If you can't make it, you can try to watch on any other Sunday. They do other weekly streams as well, so give those a shot if you have the time. Andrew usually streams games on weekends, Mike plays multiplayer games on Tuesdays (9:30 PM ET) and Dean hosts his own show, The Beast Unleashed, at 9 PM ET on Wednesdays! Know that you can always expect a friendly chat room and terrific moderation team for all of these shows if you give them a shot.

Lastly, they're called The Level Up Network for a reason. While The Level Up Show is their main focus and what started it all, they do some other really cool shows exclusive to YouTube that you can watch whenever! If you're a big fan of anything related to comics/superheroes, Dean and Greg do a great weekly show called Power Up. If you have a passion for PlayStation you can check out segments from their PS-dedicated show, It Only Does PlayStation. They even do a show once a month for movies and television named Lights Up! Other things, like special shows and Lets Plays, will be on the YouTube channel as well. There really is something for everyone... Every single one of these work well because of the professional setup, quality sound/video and most importantly, the hosts. They could not possibly have more differing personalities, yet they all mesh so well together and know how to have a good time.

Please, give this community a chance... You might end up loving it as much as I do!

Rick, so happy that you're a part of GAF now and can be active with this community. Also, thanks so much for the kind words. You're the best.

As Rick was saying, we're about to go live with episode 134 of our gaming talk show in just a few minutes. If you're interested in seeing what we're all about, stop by www.twitch.tv/thelevelupshow!

Hope to see some GAF'ers tonight!

Episode 135 - Gamescom 2016 Recap

https://youtu.be/QNxlE7ZfguQ
In this episode, the crew takes a look at the leaked images of the PlayStation 4 Slim, Dean plays some baby-making music, and Gamescom 2016 is recapped!

Ok you asked for feedback and I'll give you mine, even if that'll make me look like an asshole I'll do it since I might probably say that something your (already) fans might not mention:

•I get it that you do all of this for fun, with a lot of passion and are a group of friends who want to chill while talkin' games but son don't fuckin' show up wearing flip-flops and forcing me to look at you playing with your feet and rubbing them all the goddamn time, it's gross and distracting. If you don't wanna wear sneakers and absolutely need your feet to breath than at least try not having them in the shot all the time while you can't leave 'em be.

•The big one which made me totally lose interest in following the show after the 1st ten minutes: you can't hear a thing besides the host (Andrew, I think). The feet-guy especially was inaudible; the audience wants to chill too you know, and p forcing yourself to try and decipher who said what aint a whole lotta fun.

Here, my two cents.
I'm focusing on this couple "issues" since I'm sure you get plenty compliments from your fanbase already and personally I was put off by the sound/feet thingies. I'll give it another shot sometimes in the future, I'm sure there's a lot of good there that I might enjoy.

Good luck!

Appreciate the feedback of course. To your two big points (feet/audio haha), the casual nature is simply not going to change. I understand if that puts you off, but I know for a fact that the guy you're talking about (Dean) would not mess with his comfort while doing the show. As for sound issues, I guess it's bad luck that you only watched the opening since there actually was a mic issue with the right mic that was fixed about 8 minutes into that episode. If you still feel that Mike and Dean's volume is too low after that, I'd love to know.

Thanks again.

I remember watching your Sony E3 2015 conference stream and liked it.
I thought your Sony E3 2016 conference stream was even better. I didn't watch it live (I love the Easy Allies crew so much), but I'd say it was much better than Giant Bomb or Kinda Funny's streams.

Really appreciate that. Sony's E3 conference this year generated amazing coverage and reactions. It's one of the best gaming conferences I've ever seen.

Hey again everyone! Tonight seems like a good time to revive this thread. That's because after 3.5 years of hard work, we're getting a front page promotion on Twitch. The episode officially starts at 9 PM ET, but we're about to go live right now to set up if anyone wants to join us! Tonight we'll be discussing Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, the new No Man's Sky update and much more!

We're expecting a lot of new people to join our family tonight and we're very hopeful some of them will be from here on NeoGAF.

We hope to see you soon!
