iirc it has the same if not very similar internals as the Air 2. With a superior quality screen over Mini 2 & 3.
So I think it is literally a Mini Air 2.

Hell yeah especially at $270.. It's a really dope iPad. Has multitasking. I love mine.

It's a great device. The iPad Air 2 is a better deal at the same price since it has a tri-core SoC instead of dual-core but they're pretty similar in most other respects.

It is very much worth buying, and it comes with the official Huelen seal of approval for 8 inch tablets.

That goes without saying, but the great thing is the power pass-through. It's always been a mess to have hubs connected to the thing just to power MIDI device cables enough to work, not anymore.

Cheers!

Sounds good

No watch body improvement and no 12-inch MacBook update is disappointing. Did they basically just announcing more sizes of existing products?

Apple is beholden to Intel when it comes to the MacBook line. If the hardware isn't ready, then they can't just make a product happen.

It's probably why they really think the iPad Pro line is the future of computing. They have a lot more control over the internals.

I wonder if they will pass Intel come a10.

489€ here in Spain.

Fuck that.

Same price in France...

I might have considered going back to iOS for the first time since my iPhone 3G, just for the stance they've adopted regarding encryption, but not at that price.

When I first saw the 399$ price tag I thought, "This is what the 5C should have been" and then I checked the Italian site and was disappointed once again.

just ordered a pencil in case they go out of stock next week.

With the increased price of the new ipad I'm almost tempted to look at a used 12" one, they seem heavily discounted - in fact looking around I can see the 32GB going for the same price as the 32GB 9.7"

probably a bit too big, but at least then the keyboard would be full size, and video would look great on it.

I am wondering what Apple did to make that phone so cheap. It looks super nice as the 5s was an amazing phone. The size is great. I have one that work gave me. It's better to wield than my 6s+. I bet it has 1gig ram. My 6s+ has 2 gigs and ios9 flies on it. Should wait for some reviews first but that's probably what they cut. Still great phone at a nice price.

Yup, assuming 3D Touch is the ONLY thing missing from the SE, I'll "downgrade" from my 6s+.

If it has 2GB of RAM... I kinda want it.

I love small phones.

Price is cheap because:

1) No 3D Touch display.
2) Reuse of components and manufacturing processes they've had for four years that are probably very cheap for them at this point.

$600 is pretty steep for a device that will allow me to do everything I currently do on my iPad Air but a bit faster. I'm putting that cash towards a PSVR tomorrow and will have $100 to spare.

oof the faster TouchID is a huge deal. if you never had a 6S you wouldn't know what you're missing but it would be really hard to downgrade

Might be an improvement depending on your uses. Sometimes the new TouchID is 'too fast' never have enough time to see the time or possibly use the camera shortcut, have to relearn turning on the phone with the sleep/wake button.

It doesn't have Wi-Fi MIMO or the second-gen TouchID either

Oh shit... that sucks. Thanks for the heads up. I can absolutely deal without the fast Wifi - but 1st-gen Touch ID is a huge step backwards :-/

I'm in the market for a new laptop, I have mostly Apple products at home, and I need something to take on the road that has good battery life, a nice screen and good keyboard.

The laptop will be used mostly for writing, is there any reason to not think seriously about buying the MacBook from last year?

It's underpowered. Wait for this year's refresh.
