I'd love to try it but A) It has crashed for half of the matches I've gotten into and B) There is no force start timer once 3/4 players are ready. I've spent more time in the damn lobby than actually in game. Amateur hour.
This. I had some crashes en route to 20, but now it's more often. Also, needs the force start.
Yeah, when I wonder what the hold up is, and I see that slacking player's color scheme switch, I usually drop that group. If I was in with a pack of three friends, where we could actually talk, that would be different. But the clocksuckers who are inconsiderate of everyone's time really piss me off.
I just bounce--theres been plenty of times where people just don't play mid-match, and that's frustrating.
Gotta love it when your game crashes in Wave 6... -.-
Yep, had a few of these two.
Same is true here in Wisconsin. I've been dumped to desktop 10 straight times during peak playtimes. This, combined with the shorter match length will cause you to go through your consumables faster (especially if you play on silver or above).
This game is all about incentivizing the EA cash grab.
Yes, technically, if you're tracking item use within a match, then you can easily restore those in case of a crash, even if it is a day later.
I definitely have to say, after playing 30 or so matches, that something seems off with the difficulty tuning--specifically enemy health. I have no problem with enemies being lethal, but when a black widow can't kill a shielded enemy with 3 headshots on silver, I don't know, seems like a bit much. Everything is just such a damage sponge, and enemy density seems much higher than me3 at the same time. Maybe things change as levels increase, but it seems that even higher tier guns are barely making a dent in most enemies, and biotic and other combos seem to hardly do any additional damage at all. What was appealing about biotic explosions in 3 was that when you set them up you could clear a room full of enemies in a second; here it seems like, maybe you get a bit of extra damage on the detonated target, and put a (small) dent in anything that is super, super close by. And would be shield stripping powers like overload and energy drain... take less than half of an 'weak' enemy's shield out on bronze.
Has anyone progressed far enough to indicate whether this changes substantially as you gear up?
I can chime in here, I've done the bronze and silver tiers, have a max level character, and multiple weapons. I also put a ton of time into the ME3MP.
There's only a few holdovers from the last game that have their same-ish level of power--the Pirahna, Talon and Valkryie are good guns. The Carnifex is straight up garbage, Disciple feels weaker. I've only used a few of the snipers, only one felt good. I have a Juggernaut shield, but doesnt seem to do a lot.
The enemies are straight up sponges--i didn't think so at first, just that regular learning curve. Nope.
First, there is nothing anything past 100% cooldown, so if you want to use your powers more often, you're basically SOL for anything except a pistol or POS Avenger. The only thing that seems to kill anything is grenades and shotgun/heavy pistol. Cobra RPG isn't an instakill for any boss past bronze, which is a problem because on Wave 6 on silver, enemies constantly spawn behind you. Yes, straight up behind you, it's the to the point where I just turn every 20 seconds or so and shoot the lizards.
Ammo below rank 2 isn't worth using even on silver. You need multiple rank 2 or higher boosters to kill shit on Silver.
Power combos are definitely weaker; the Avenger has the shadow strike which also primes the target for explosions. There has not been a single time where the Tech Combo has killed more than one extra guy; which means Im fighting against 2-3 guys post explosion. Which means a grenade which may or may not stick, and since I can only kill 1-2, it usually means Im running from the third, especially if it's a Berzerker or Agent or Fiend or whatever.
So, there aren't many characters that clicked with me; between the combat changes, drops and general horseshit jank, I'm thinking I might actually be done for a while until it's fixed. I wasn't planning on going back to Destiny for a while, but fuck it. Gold doesn't seem worth it with all of these changes; the playtime sink to feel stronger and actually work as a cohesive group isn't there for me. And that sucks--5 years waiting for this MP to come back, and the stellar combat has been outdone by sponges, connection issues and player weakening combat power changes.
