The TV Stand was custom made by a friend according to measurements and specifications I gave him, I love it!

I'm going to bookmark this thread for a couple weeks down the road. Hopefully, by then, my new house will be painted and have all the furniture set up so I can show you guys some before and after shots.

In fact, here's the thread I started when I closed on the house:

Glad this thread is staying alive.

Confused, did you get all the old lady decor out of your new place yet?

(OT: OklaGAF is bigger than I thought.)

I really like that setup Thai. Only thing I'm not a big fan of is the cupboards, they seem out of place. Otherwise awesome.

Is that plant you have there fake? I'm looking for some small fake plants or if real, something that requires little maintenance (water once every couple of days and indirect sunlight)

Cause it's like that, and that's the way it is.

I need to take pictures of our room and the other spare room...
did you ever jump down on the sofa from up there?
it seems really tempting :D

sold this place.

I'm just packing my stuff right now, a sad feeling just hit me :(

been asking myself for the past 2 weeks if I did the right thing, maybe because I don't really have a solid reason to sell it other than to liquify the equity in (unrealistic) fear of real estate correction

it's a real plant, a Money Tree. I haven't quite figured out how to care for it yet, my place gets no direct sunlight. the thing's growing new leaves but also dying at the same time, its confusing.

What building was this in?

It looks like a Toy Factory Loft, but they're in King West so that can't be it.

Where you moving to next?

How is it that you have any equity at all? If the market is as down as it can pretty much possibly go, doesn't make much sense to sell.

My place has garbage all over it. Might end up posting pics if I can get it cleaned up.

Meanwhile, nice pics to just about everyone - looks a lot better than my crap apartment.

Love it. Recommendation, have the speaker wires come down along the corner straight. (a couple staples near the bottom and a bit of glue) It won't look that out of place then. Oh, and an actual TV. (if you had it mounted above your computer desk, it would look pimp)

I fixed the wires, got some covers so they didn't stick out.

and i'm in film school at the moment living off student loans so as much as I wish I could afford a tv I can't, but the 26 inch monitor is perfect for watching blurays as long as I'm sitting in my computer chair.

Glad you like it though, its the first time in my life i've put a ton of work into my room.

I'm in Toronto. Our real estate has been holding up quite well, we're still at the peak, so I thought I sold it now.

Tabris, if you don't mind me asking, is this a real Amano print or did you have it made yourself? I've been looking for that exact same print for ages and he doesn't sell it.

Here's our place, put in some before and afters since we did some major renovations before we moved in. We pretty much ripped out everything minus the kitchen. New engineered hardwood upstairs and on the staircase, restained the main floor a grey tone, new paint all around and fully redid the two bathrooms. Used to have a pretty good lake view but a lot of condos are going up in my area. The roof top garden is a nice feature though.

wow very nice place!! Makes me want to paint my condo with all those colors. Most noticeable change is definitely on the bedroom area.

Nice looking place. I wish I had enough money for my own house/loft.

Is it sad I have a picture of my "dream apartment" on my bulletin board as motivation to do well in school? I can't wait till I can afford an apartment that isn't run by shitty slum lords in a college town.

Not at all. There's nothing wrong with working hard and enjoying the fruits of your labor. Setting goals for yourself is very healthy.

I always feel so poor when I make my way back to this thread :lol

It also keeps on making me want to move to Vancouver.

I'm moving out of the place I'm staying right now with 2 roommates, to getting my own Studio Apartment. It's about 500 sq ft., but I think I can fit everything I need in the space. I'll post pictures once I have everything setup.

I love these types of threads though...

You've already started construction and it won't be complete until next year? Are you building a compound?

Man, Onkel. I wanna come over and have you cook me dinner while I peruse through your "other" Blue-Ray collection.

We'd have a grand time.

From January through August I'll be living with my parents, and then move away again. Right now I live in my old room which has been remade into an office... So 3/4th of the room is mine and 1/4th is an office. It's a bit cramped, but it works. The rest of the house is huge, though, so that makes up for it.

So I'm all excited about buying my first apartment and that it's all coming together now (finally). I just took some pics of the - still work in progress - living room:
