I think the only Sonic song uploaded in high quality without sounds was Windy Hill.

I got super nostalgic goosebumps at hearing the ska inspired Slide theme from Mario 64...oh goodness gracious it's incredible. I know this isn''t a Mario 64 thread but FUCK that is an amazing game all over.

This makes me want a Mario-Sonic crossover platformer even more.

Mario can play like he does in either Galaxy or 3D World, & Sonic can play like a refined version of the Lost World style (as much as I loved Colors & Generations, the Boost style kinda hit its dead-end at Generations). At the very least, we'll get spectacular remixes of songs from both universes.

Of course, Nintendo would handle the stage design & boss fights, and Sega would handle the music.

Wow, I'm listening to Mario music . . . tis' a new day. It definitely has that Sega touch, i can feel it. Audio, one of the few places where Sonic and Sega has had some consistent level of quality. *queue Professor Beef*

Amazing music. Too bad more of the game isn't online. Not much point in picking up a game like this to play by myself.

Ho...ly crap. Well, I can't say I'm 100% surprised, because SEGA has a superb sound team.

It's like the best of Sonic and Mario's music thrown together. These are definitely Mario tracks, but I -hear- SEGA in them.

So great. I was unaware these even existed (the music, I mean). Kind of want to pick this up as well.

Just discovered these today. Need to go back & listen to the remixes from the previous 2 Olympic games. Can we get some of these songs in SSB? These seriously need to reach more ears.

The music & the dream events are the only reason why I have interest in the games & they're so damn tempting to get the games to experience them.

Not to derail, but it begs the question: Why do we not get music this good in the actual Mario games (2D)? This is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. At the very least take whatever the NSMB team comes up with and then have Sega remix all of them for the final product.

I said god DAMN.

Came in not expecting much.

I don't even know why. These Sega arrangements are god damned incredible

Some of these make me wish for MASSIVE Sega Sound Team involvement in Super Smash Bros.

Koopa's Road among others could be copied wholesale over to Smash Bros and would fit in quite well

Color me seriously impressed by these guys.

Slide, Koopa Road, Bob-Omb Battlefield, Cool Cool Mountain, Staff Roll...

Time for a remake of Super Mario 64?

Has Sega ever done an Ice Cap remix?

Never happening.

You'd think the company's headline franchise would get better treatment, yes. It's absolutely mystifying. Competing with Sega's sound team is difficult for most of the industry anyway, but EAD doesn't even try. They don't even pretend to give a shit, given NSMB2.

Makes me wonder just how many sound guys EAD employs, actually. The only rationalization I can come up with is that they're just spread awfully thin. But even then that only forgives the production quality, not the bland, flat arrangements they keep pumping out.

That's scarier than all of the horror games you've been playing combined!

(No offense, Sega, just some things are meant to be done by Nintendo!)

No worries, Nintendo have a certain quality they have all their own to their games, wouldn't want anyone else to tackle a whole remake of one of their most beloved games. Just the thought of people reacting to such news if it were to happen is almost priceless to think of.

But hey, at the very least, the music of the remake would be good.

Resisting the urge to buy a game just because of the soundtrack. But god damn these are amazing. Never would have expected such a great soundtrack from a Mario and Sonic Olympic game.

Yes. I would honestly prefer this over a direct sequel. I think I've had my fill of open world Mario, and would rather they continue to focus on the Galaxy/3D path.

But I would love an HD version of this game to always revisit. There's something about the game that they just nailed, and it's not only the open-ness. And all those songs...so good.

We got one 9 years ago.

But it's not HD and doesn't control as well as the original.

is there any sonic 2 stage theme remixes in any of these games?

The very first Mario & Sonic actually licensed some Sonic 1 and 2 music, but that game only had Teruhiko Nakagawa on board and he wasn't doing arrangements. Since then, no.
