Thanks for the bulletin board post, Mejilan. :lol

What did I write?

Hey GaimeGuy, I've got a nice Triforce flag up, you should come visit!

Check demi's page for my info. If you add me, let me know, and I'll add you back. I had you in my friend list for over a week, I think, but you never added me so I erased ya. I think it was you, anyway! :D

I gave up on the fishing contest a little while ago. Lobo landed a 101 inch Tuna, and I haven't even caught that type of fish yet heh.

Sorry, dude. I can't add anyone at the moment. I'm in Florida until the 29th, and there's not a hotspot around here. :lol

Where are the Tuna located, anyway?

I won the contest in my town with a 44.4 inch sea bass. I got a trophy in the mail today, apparantly it has special feng shui abilities. :)

oh, and to those of you who wanted to know, you can (re)set your clock in AC... after going to continue, instead of picking your character on your bed, go to the phone...

I just bough 30,000 worth of turnips.

We need to post our turnip prices every day so we can make shitloads of bells.

Anyone want a cool Samurai Suit to show off in your house? How about a Garden Gnome? A little cash too?

Bring your shovels to my town (Nester in Moovile) and start digging up the bottom right corner of my town. From the town gate, head southeast across the bridge. All the cracks in the ground are located there.

All the cracks? Yes, I've buried the two items above as well as a ton of seashells. There's lots of spots to dig up, so hurry up before the other two people find the items.

If I don't have you on my list, send me a PM or AIM at NathanShad and I'll add you so you can join. I'd prefer for everyone to wait at the gate until all 3 people have connected to make it more fair and frantic for everyone.

In addition to the above items, once you find them, if you come to me and drop the item on the ground, showing you found it, I'll give you 10,000 bell for finding the suit (1st place) and 2,500 bell for finding the Garden Gnome (runner up). You get to keep the items too.

Gates are opening now!

Oh, and fill up your holes after digging!

Edit: Forgot, for those of you that don't have my code, it's 0902-5494-7271

That's good to know. I went to the phone after booting up my game, and that didn't do it! :D

Sorry, I was pulling a BB.com X360 all nighter, and I left you and Bobbyconover (I think), some wild and slightly inappropriate messages! :lol

ahhhhh stupid fishing tournament :(

I am competing against a 45.9 sea bass... After a billion sea bass the closest I have got is 45.0 :(

...I did catch a tuna though, but I'd rather give that to the museum unless I have to give it for the tourney

Need one more for the above contest. Come on in, Mej!

Sorry guys, emergency came up and I needed to leave. I'll re-open the contest later tonight. With more seashells buried too :D

Why did you end it? :(

Sorry, I really have to leave now. Just getting my shoes on. I'll open it again at 9pm Central time. That'll give everyone enough time to PM me or add me.

Ok, sorry about that. I'll be opening my gates in just under an hour at 9pm Central Time, so anyone that wants to do this, PM me or send me an AIM message and I'll add you. Burying more seashells now. :)

Name: Tav
Town: Boggle

I've got a ton of pears I want to sell.

Just added you. I'll be opening my gates in 6 minutes for the above if you want to join. My native fruit is apples so you'll get good bankroll on your pears too.

Out of desperation, I send out an open invitation over at GameFAQs and the first two people to answer got in. Tav(Zaxxon) let both of them win, I think.

;)

My town is open! Come one, come all! (Come on! Nobody ever comes!) Post here and I'll add you. I've added a bunch of you already so you may be able to access immediately.

I don't think the coelcanth appears during this time of year.

Animal Crossing can officially go fuck itself now.
I won the fishing contest, on the last minute before the time hit 6pm.
I put my DS in sleep mode for dinner and when I came back to my DS afterwards, the battery had died. BITCH!

Lesson learned apparently. Take a normal GBASP battery, double the screens with backlighting and a more power-consuming chipset, and then throw in Wifi... =(

If the DS is revised I hope they use a stronger battery.

In my experience, red-mode DS battery life is A LOT less than GBA SP/Micro... That's supposed to be roughly 25%. Seems more like 10% on the DS... maybe.

Edit - Also, that's weird. Sleep mode might be a BAD idea for AC. I was playing on the shitter the other day, with no access to a charger in the bathroom, when the battery died. Seconds before, the game interrupted my play and forced a save before the shutdown.

Most likely, due to sleep mode, your game did NOT. Hey, at least Resetti is funny. :D

Quick Q: How large is this game compared to the AC for GCN?
Depends on how you look at it. The town itself I at first thought seemed smaller, but now that I'm used to not having a slight pause when moving between sections of the map and have several times the number of animal houses around, they seem about the same.

In terms of game objects, I believe Wild World has more. I think it was in this thread I read something like 600+ new items, but I don't know where that comes from.

There are a few things that are lesser (or missing) from the first Animal Crossing. I'm guessing the game uses less save space than the GCN version and that's partially to blame. Like, the max number of villagers is 8 compared to the first game's 15. No calendar showing which days you've played within the last year. Though there can be up to 4 characters in a town, they all share the same house. You can only keep 8 patterns per character at once, and not keep an archive of dozens.

Been at work all day, so I think I'm going to cheat a little and set the clock back a bit so I can play in the fishing tournament and get some turnips.

BTW, you can get coelacanth this time of year. It's a year-round fish. It needs to be raining/snowing I'm pretty sure, and it has to be late at night. Midnight-4 AM seems best.

There's one swimming in my museum, but I've yet to catch another.

All I need to complete the collection of fish for this season is a stringfish. I think they follow the same criteria as coelacanth, but live in the river, rather than the ocean.

For bugs, I only need a dung beetle and an ant. Has anyone seen any ants?

If it's the same as the GameCube version, I believe you can find an ant by
leaving a turnip, and maybe candy (if that's even in Wild World), on the ground. Leave the area, come back, and ants are gnawing on it.

But it was in sleep mode! And it started sleep mode with a green light.
How can the battery die in sleep mode!? :(

I don't think AC's sleep mode functions like a sleep mode does on a laptop. How would it keep track of time and such?

I guess we'd need a DS developer to get into details, but it does seem like different games sleep in different ways. Some games totally pause everything, some games ignore the fact that you've shut the thing and keep playing, some allow wifi things to be going on while in sleep... wouldn't surprise me if AC used a "more-awake sleep" so as to have the villagers moving different places and such if that's possible? I did notice the first few days that my battery seemed to be running out faster than normal and was even hitting red at night before plugging it in when I went to sleep. Playing it at breaks during work, I didn't expect that to happen. Now, though, I just save (thankfully that's quicker than in the GCN version) and I haven't seen it red since.

Well, they should have made it save automatically if the batteries ran low during sleep mode, like how it prompts you if it's not in sleep mode. That would have saved a lot of trouble for players, I think.

I know it's basically keeping the game alive, even while it's in sleep mode, but I never expected it to be that CPU-intensive or anything.

If you close your DS while doing wifi on Animal Crossing, your character will appear to be asleep/nodding off to your friends. This means that sleep mode does not pause the game due to 24/7 nature of the game.

If you want to find out when and where certain insects or fish appearing during the year look here:

http://www.animalxing.com/collectionsww.php

I never knew how much fossils are worth! i should dig up some more from other towns more often. The site is very good for feng shui arrangements in your houser too.

Hey guys my gates are open for a while. Just be careful around the back of Tom's store. That's where I planted two new trees. Other than that come enjoy yourselves. Stalks are going for 70- so it's pretty low today.
