The Official Fight Night Round 4 thread of Analog sticks

Guess I was wrong, the EU PSN update is here, and I couldn't find any FNR4 DLC. Fucking cunt(s) (whoever is responsible for the delay)!

I just got FNR4... OMG is Legacy frustrating as all hell!

Even these lower level guys will swarm you like crazy. They are TOO good for their level. The fuckers just don't miss...

ARGH

Guess people overlooked this; first costly DLC to be released later this month:

Electronic Arts revealed that its first downloadable boxer pack for Fight Night Round 4 will be available in late August on XBOX LIVE and the Playstation Network for 800 Microsoft points and $9.99, respectively. The downloadable boxer pack will include Oscar De La Hoya, Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, and alternate versions of George Foreman and James Toney. Named the Game Critic Awards “Best Sports Game of E3 2009”, Fight Night Round 4 has been winning over reviewers and fans since its release on June 23rd.

In addition to the boxer pack, EA SPORTS™ will also be releasing a free downloadable game update at the end of August. The free update will include additional trunks, gloves and shorts, as well as a free button control scheme that will allow gamers to use face buttons on the Xbox 360 and PS3 game controllers to throw punches, hooks, uppercuts and haymakers. A new demo featuring the button controls will also be available on XBOX LIVE and the Playstation Network by early September. The 12 round demo will feature Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali as playable boxers.

"We are extremely excited to be able to add Oscar and the Klitschko brothers as part of our roster," said executive producer, Dean Richards. "As three of the most globally recognized names in the sport, they are an important addition to the Fight Night Round 4 lineup."

I have to wonder what kind of boxing fantasy land they're living in, in which De La Hoya and James Toney are still somehow relevant. Where's Hopkins and Marquez?

That is actually pretty sweet, but you could find free created versions of those same boxers already.

yeah no need to give EA any spacebucks for DLC boxers since they gave us such a great utility to create/download boxers with the game. Im only interested in seeing what they rated each DLC boxer.

If they had included Holyfield and Mayweather in addition to those guys, I would have bought it. They totally need holyfield to capitalize on Tyson being in the game.

Man, this game came, went, died, and was buried, huh?

I'm going to break it back out this weekend, and I want to see if the Online Championship mode is still a crock of poop. My first experience with it was me using my 5'9" 175lb Created Boxer, against a 6'7" 230lb Boxer.

After I dominated him for the first few rounds, he started slipping in head butts in a few rounds, losing points, but eventually doing enough damage to knock me out. Very very disappointed.

Hopefully the scene is a bit better, though I doubt it. I'm hoping the majority of the people have moved on to MW2 so the community will be a bit more 'serious'.

I liked it when it first came out, but the more I played, the more I found problems.

Namely the Haymakers being so frequent when playing the CPU. In previous games, if you threw alot of them they sapped your energy. In this game, the CPU throws 50-60 a fight and still has alot of energy. That pretty much broke the game for me. Also, the training between fights and the email system needs a complete overhaul.

I still think it was a good game, the flaws become more clear when you play it to death.

So I went back and played more matches today (rather, I tried to). The online is fucking terrible.

Aside from rarely being able to find matches, it's plagued with jack asses who use created boxers that are 6"1, 250+ lbs, and constantly just mash out body shots.

On top of that, the majority of the people I played just went through replays over and over and over again. I eventually got to the point where I said fuck it and just quit.

The tweaks that EA has made to the online mode killed this game. It was great while it lasted. Sold it once the good, fun, fair players disappeared.

Bought it for the PS3, I'm having a terrible time with the analog sticks bullshit. I was already having a terrible time with the demo, but this is too fucking weird. Did they ever release the face buttons option via DLC? The game feels completely unresponsive. I can't stand this.

Edit, just figured it out. Never mind. Now we're cooking. :D

I loved FNR3 and I liked 4 but it didn't grab me the way 3 did. Maybe it was too sim-like. Do you think Champions will bring back the glory?
