I'll probably write more on this later. This game is insane fun. Whoever was complaining about the difficulty is either too skilled for their own damn good or must have just been running through the game Sonic style. How could you not slow down and enjoy it's savory juices? I've beaten it and am currently finishing up the secret worlds and going for 100%. For what the designers were going for (mainly a SMB throwback but w/ elements from the whole series), I would call it a "Massive Triumph."
There is some great level design here, but I agree with the posters who said they didn't take some of the ideas far enough as in Yoshi's Island. The fact that in that game, each stage had a name clueing you in on the level's unique theme added a bunch of character as well. I mean, "Touch Fuzzy, get dizzy" Come on, that's just greatness right there. And that boss fight where you get swallowed and have to fight the boss from inside its stomach... *runs off to play Yoshi's Island*
