HL: Ep1
Brain-Age (don't laugh)
FFXII
NSMB
MGS3:S

...now that I think about it, I haven't thoroughly played much this year. stupid job. but I have played 25 to Life and Dirge, so I definitely have a grip on what's been bad.

ah kewl

so would you recommend FFXII to someone who's never played through a JRPG, let alone a FF game? i heard it's pretty different in terms of being a FF game and i like the art style so i figure i'll give it a shot?

it can be pretty complex and involving like an MMO, if you want it to be. but it essentially plays like an "old" FF game if you turn gambits (the macro A.I. system) off and set battle timer to "wait." much better than FFX, imo. can't say anymore, review embargo. :-/

Which way to you reccomend to play? Wait, or gambit on?

hmm. well, based on what I saw of the japanese version and various demos...I'd have to speculate that the general rule of thumb would be grinding = gambits on, boss fights = gambits off. unless you're uber-confident in your gambit setup. ymmv.

I'm getting a little nervous, robo-Gamestop woman didn't give me a call tonight. I usually get called the day before they start selling reserved games. :(

3~4 hours into the game. just got my
water lily ability
=D
spectacular so far. the navi thing really annoys me tho =[ wonder where i can turn the tips off and that big hint arrow ( ugh..)
the brush system is a bit disappointing, hopefully i'd get to draw shapes other than
lines and circles
later in the game.

I want to be you : (

My gamestop didn't have it yet either >:(

On the positive side, I saw a guy who jumped to the top of my "weirdest people seen at a game store" list

My girlfriend picked this up as soon as her EB Games got it in. She's loving it so much. I'm about to go pick it up, but what I've heard from her is that the animation is incredible and playing it is surreal.

Okay I'm going now to buy this freaking game. See you next week when I stop cumming.

Damn, I want to wait until I have Yakuza finished (love it!) but...I'm weak :(

Ha, I blazed through the last couple of chapters in Yakuza last night because I wanted to get it over with ASAP before getting into Okami.

Just ordered mine, should arrive my doorstep in a few days. :)

Better than waiting for the European release!

I wonder if I can finish off Yakuza before Okami arrives, I'm only on Chapter 5. :lol

Man, 4 more hours of work and then I get to pick my copy, but I can't play it because I have to go work on a freelance project for most of the night. Coupled with the fact I'll be out of town most of the weekend, it might be a few days before I get to spend some time with it. Oh well, I've been waiting for what seems like years now. I guess I can wait a few more day.... *sob*

I pre-orderd it a while ago, but I don't feel like playing any games these days... so I think I'll put it aside, just like Zelda: WW for a while. (Damn, I still have to finish any 3d Zeldas. I'm trying my best to like the game, but I just can't seem to be able to get into any of these 3D exploring zelda-eque games.)

Game is absolutely out of this world. I don't even mind the tutorial aspect so far, because even then everything is drop dead gorgeous.

Stop teasing me!!! I don't get out of work for a few more hours!!! Damnit, I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to play it tonight because I'm supposed to work on something...

Just picked up mine on my Lunch break, but sadly still stuck at work. Got the last Okami brush gift set as well ^_^ All is good with the world.

Has anyone gotten theirs from Amazon yet? My order has a massively odd shipping date, but so does everything I've preordered recently, so I don't trust it.

got it, gave it a try on a friend's PS2 since i can't get home yet and use my save ----- so nice, the intro is so slow and melodic a very cool change of pace but the music keeps it all moving.

it's just so damn pretty, i'll have to put more hours into it past the tutorial to see how it picks up.

You know, I forgot about the intro...

I absolutely HATE when developers handle intro sequences in that manner. When you first pop in the disc, that intro plays. My first time playing the game, I read the whole thing. Cool, it was a nice intro.

Then I hit start a new game and, guess what? The same intro plays. I never know whether or not I should skip the initial introductions as I don't wish to miss anything...but when you end up having to watch it twice, I feel that it is a tad annoying.

BTW - Did they leave the "sake" as sake? Or was it wine? I don't remember, actually, as it's been so long. Heh.

BTW2 - What do you guys think of the music thus far? I really enjoyed most of the soundtrack, but there are some particularly moving songs in there. Very good stuff, for the most part.

Woo, thanks for the warning. I'll skip that intro then.
