Why? He doesn't have a winning record against either one of them, and he has a losing record in slams against Nadal.

It's not highly unlikely, but if Federer is on fire then there isn't anyone out there that can beat him on a non-clay surface. For anyone to beat Federer they have to rely on him being sub-par.

He didn't look sub-par at Wimbledon 2008 or the Australian Open 2009. He just lost.

The way Federer's been playing and the way Murray has been playing, Nadal coming off a surgery, coupled with Nadal historically not doing well at US Open and Murray historically not doing well at any grand slam leads me to believe that Federer has this in the bag.

Are you fucking serious? That was THE period where he was playing his worst in the entire career. The commentators still say he's not 100% back to Federer of old. I don't know if you just started watching tennis, or what, but during the exact period of time you mentioned is when everyone said he was moving slow, his forehand lost accuracy, everyone was writing him off and saying he should retire. He's just getting his mojo back now. "He just lost.":lol

He was poor by his standards at both. He wasn't even that good at the US Open in 2008 yet he still won. I am frankly amazed he was able to play that well given his mono.

Fedgod generally is unstoppable, but Murray and Nadal have both beaten him before and can do it again. Do I think Fedgod will win the US Open? Yep. But it's not for sure until Murray and Nadal have both been dispatched.

Roddick breaks.

Can't disagree with that.

Let's talk about recent times.

What is the one thing in common between the most recent matches Federer has played with these top ten players that are considered his main challengers?

Nadal
Murray
Roddick
Del Potro
Joke-avich

need a hint?

what were we expecting Isner to serve a set's worth of double faults?

some of you were expecting Andy to not even lose a set, judging by the comments earlier.

why you gotta rub it in? :'(

All I said is that it should be easy for him. And it should've been. I didn't expect him to take so long to get a handle on Isner's serve.

think they were saying blake and safina are playing tonight, although it may have been a different court.

this is getting freakin intense...

isner about to win!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

whats with the upsets in this slam?!

man i would be pissed if i was Andy. fucking pissed.

its an unfair comparison, but compare Roddicks game today vs Sharapovas game :lol

only 2 double faults with a serve like that. she needs to go talk to him and spend every minute with him

Do you really think she could replicate Roddicks serve?

She is not remotely built like him. Even if she could do it, it wouldn't generate the same power as a more regular serve.

she cant utilize a regular serve because of her injury. someone said earlier in the thread that she is trying to replicate his style. i dont know if that was a guess or an interview, but she needs to do something.

How the fuck did Stiffler lose that 5th set after the lumbering giant looked so shit at the end of the 4th?

Steve Stiffler, one and done.

Lmao. Get cruicified.

I'm a massive Federer fan but I don't think he was sub par as some say. He just wasn't good enough. Rafa really has his measure these days and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Rafa "upsets" fed here.
