The Order: 1886 new gifs and info

This is very disappointing if true and a big hit for Sony. The first party offerings for 2014 are horrendously barren across the board.
 
Although this isn't confirmed it seems really likely. Sony better have something besides Driveclub for Fall.

It's just really disappointing that they won't use the big rush this fall to capitalize on making The Order into a mega franchise like it could be.
 
If this does get delayed I think they will hype up some exclusive indie stuff at e3. Like The Witness and that wind waker looking game. As far as I know those two should be out this holiday.
 
The 'Wind Waker' looking game, Rime, is almost certainly not this year. Sony released a blog about their 2014 line up a few months ago, Rime and The Rapture were not included.

The only Indy that's definitely going to hit this year ( of the Gamescom games ) is Hell Divers , the rest we've barely seen mentioned in 2014.

It go badly for them compared to the way everyone expects the MS conference to go as well.

Yeah, I think it will be DriveClub and ports at this point + some Indies and exclusive content. Maybe they can work some magic and get Project Beast or TLG out lol
Until Dawn could make a comeback as well.

If he replies with something like "We'll be announcing the release date soon :)" is a good indication that it might not be delayed....if he replies with "We have not announced a release date yet, please be patient" You could see that as uh oh.

Until Dawn will be a Morpheus game at this point, so it'll launch next year.

TLG is actually the most believable candidate for a surprise fall release realistically. I don't think that'll happen though.
 
Sony have GOT to have some fall games to reveal at E3. There has to be. They can't go into the fall with just DriveClub, a game that was supposed to be released months ago.

In all honesty, why not? I'm not saying they will and I'm not discounting better multilplats or Indie exclusives like Rime, but what would be the problem for Sony if they went into the Fall with very few exclusives? They'll sell every single PS4 they make anyway.

The only reason you'd have to worry is if the PS4 wasn't the best selling console in history and, just like the WiiU, was desperately in need of exclusives to help it sell.

They can't sell every PS4 they make now, why would they in the fall when there's no games telling people they should buy their system over the other, especially now that they're the same price? "but it will look/play just a little bit better!!" most people won't care.

Of course they can, games like Destiny and Unity will ensure that.

As much as I would love to play The Order this year, if RAD feels they need more time I'm fine with that.

Yes they will, just like they did last generation when it was ALL about the multiplats. You remember that surely? That was when Sony had ALL the exclusives. Sony don't need a system seller just yet and they definitely won't need a system seller around Christmas. If you want a better version of 50% of the games out there, you'd buy a PS4, and most people know that now.

It really is telling that suddenly multiplatform games don't matter and ONLY exclusives sell systems. It's amazing. God only knows where the goal post is going to be moved to once the PS4 exclusives start hitting thick and fast. That day will be most amusing.
 
Sony will survive the fall certainly but they need to show that they mean business in 2015 right from the start. As in The Order in Jan/Feb, Project Beast in March. Something like that. And have great gameplay demos of upcoming games, not just some vague teasers. I can handle this holiday season without Sony games (I really don't give a damn about traditional racing games personally) but when 2015 hits my PS4 needs to see as much action as my PS3 did these last few years.

If Sony gets up at E3 and gives specific dates, The Order in Feb, Beast Souls in March, TLG in June, etc. Then I think people will be very forgiving, but if they just blanket delay it with 'soon', or '2015', etc, people are going to be seriously pissed. They kept claiming we'd see DC soon and it's was practically a full year delay.

Yes, I remember that people outside of neogaf don't really care all that much when systems are the same price and play the same 3rd party games. They may not need it, but it's pretty God damn obvious The Order would be better for a November release than a March one, since that's when people are notoriously known to spend a lot of money on games, even moreso than Feb-March which is a decent time in terms of spending. Getting a November launch with a bundle and potential 50$ price drop could have helped the Order have an Uncharted 1 impact. Not sure it will now.

Agreed, people seem to move from one hyperbole to another. No one is saying they won't, but people thinking this is ok is rather weird.

I know what you're saying and if this was 2015 I'd agree. Sony will sell as many PS4s as they can make in November/December. It might be disappointing for some (myself included) but in the grand schemes of things, it's not going to make a damn bit of difference as far as hardware sales are concerned.

Do you only buy exclusives?

This is the first generation that I've ever bought a console day one. I waited with the PS1, PS2 and PS3. I'll leave it to you to work out why I tend to do that.
 
Would hurt Sony not having any big new games for holiday bundles.

MS will have COD and all EA games on lock for bundles / co branding and I hear they might even have co marketing for assassins creed this year as well which would be news if true.

At least they will have Destiny and I guess driveclub......

Sony have never been fast to market in my experience vs MS and thats all there is to it. Both approaches have pros/cons but as a dual console owner (not yet this gen but pattern already looks the same) with MS you get games earlier but many show signs of being release date constrained whereas on Playstation I've found comparable titles often feel more finished but take longer to arrive (i'm talking their own excusives not third party here and obviously there are exceptions on each side but that's certainly my over-arching impression).

When you go with one or the other you pick your respective poison.

Sony will have destiny, batman and farcry for bundles and cobranding. Yes I have a feeling AC is with MS this time.

That's personal to you though. If the social aspects of gaming means more to you than the graphics or performance, then why would a game like The Order make any difference to you anyway? Why would you be disappointed and seemingly angry when you play multiplats on PC and game with your friends on the XB1?

The price difference the 360 enjoyed the entire generation had almost everything to do with multiplats selling better on the 360. Not to mention the one year head start they had. Everyone here likes to believe it was because Red Dead had 5% more pixels. It's simply not true.
