The Order: 1886 new gifs and info

Would hurt Sony not having any big new games for holiday bundles.

MS will have COD and all EA games on lock for bundles / co branding and I hear they might even have co marketing for assassins creed this year as well which would be news if true.

At least they will have Destiny and I guess driveclub......

Well Sony will have COD as well and, correct me if I'm wrong, COD has sold better on the PS4 than it has on the bone. Obviously it will be marketed with MS, but that hasn't seemed to matter much.

IMO, if there's anything that will be announced at E3, and released this year, it's almost assuredly:

- established IP sequel ( rumoured LBP3 from Sumo Digital)
- ports ( Beyond/GoW:A rumour)
- smaller digital title ( like how Resogun was announced at Gamescom last year for launch title)

IMO, expecting any of the new IP trademarks to be announced at E3 for a 2014 release would be stretching it. From my memory, any large-scale new AAA IP from Sony has always had at least a year of time from reveal-to-retail.

It's less than three weeks to E3. If anything Sony wants us in a doom and gloom mood so that they can come in and sugercoat our days with 2014 release dates for Uncharted, God of War, LittleBigPlanet 3, The Order: 1886 and The Last Guardian.

While I'm certainly looking forward to a winter release of The Order the companies have just started annoncing their October-titles. Let's give them another month for November-titles.

Do we even know if a delay would push the game out of this year? If it gets pushed back just a month, that's still a delay.

Yes they will, just like they did last generation when it was ALL about the multiplats. You remember that surely? That was when Sony had ALL the exclusives. Sony don't need a system seller just yet and they definitely won't need a system seller around Christmas. If you want a better version of 50% of the games out there, you'd buy a PS4, and most people know that now.

It really is telling that suddenly multiplatform games don't matter and ONLY exclusives sell systems. It's amazing. God only knows where the goal post is going to be moved to once the PS4 exclusives start hitting thick and fast. That day will be most amusing.

In what the hell kind of parallel universe did Sony have ALL the exclusives last generation? I think that arguably until 2009-2010 they were at least neck and neck in terms of quality and spread, and certainly to a good quantity of people MS were in the lead on that front. It's really weird how for some people last generation has compressed down to the years 2010-2014.

Yup. The only big one that could make it in 2014 is TLG. Re-announce it at the end of the conference and the rest can be utter shit and they are probably still fine in terms of hardcore mindshare.

Huh? Where did this rumor come from?

Gran Turmiso 6 broke that rule.

I expect to see these games at E3:
Lily Bergamo - We should see the US release date since It was trademarked in all regions before it was revealed, it's still scheduled for 2014, and we didn't see any gameplay footage yet.

Guilty Gear Xrd- The developers will be at E3 this year and it's scheduled to release in 2014. I think we'll get a new trailer with 1-2 character reveals.

Deep Down- For some reason, this hasn't been officially announced in the US despite the PS4 reveal event and the US trademark. The JP beta is this summer, so we should hear from this.

Uncharted- It's almost 3 years since Uncharted 3 and many of the insiders we heard from confirmed the game to be there.

The Last Guardian- It's time for this game to finally come out. Based on what Sony have been saying lately, I think this will be at E3 and squeeze into the fall 2014 lineup. If the rumor about The Order being delayed is true, this will be RAD more time to make a better game and get rid of most of the disappointment about the delay. TBH, I want this to be the outcome. It's RAD's first console game and it's a new IP. If they need more time to make it a GOTY worthy game and a potential big franchise game, they should get it.

There's others they announced last year that should make it there as well. In terms of game reveals, I think at the minimum, we'll know what Sony Bend, Media Molecule, Japan Studio, and possibly SCE Londons are working on. I'd be surprise if the Killstrain, Bloodborne, and Entwined trademarks aren't Sony Bend, Japan Studios, and Media Molecule games.

If The Order is well and truly delayed to next year, then it'll hurt the PS4's prospects a little during the big fall season. Not a lot, but some. Obviously, Sony's in a position where they can fall back on a huge amount of third-party support (AssCreed Unity, new CoD, new Battlefield, Arkham Knight, DA: Inquisition and whatever else there is that I'm forgetting) to cover up their distinct shortage of retail exclusives (DriveClub and errrrrrrrrrm...). But unless Sony unveils a big exclusive at E3 that happens to be deadlocked for the holiday season, then Microsoft could easily make a stronger case for the consumer's choice of whether to opt for a Xbone or PS4 later this year. Sunset Overdrive does look really good. And they've got a Halo remaster prepped for release or something right? Yeah it's a remaster, but that franchise is huge.

Huh? Where did this rumor come from?

Resume leak found by :

Apparently corrobated by VG247:

Gran Turmiso 6 broke that rule.

I said new AAA IP. GT6 is not a new IP. (LBP Karting was also announced and released within a year, but not new IP as well)

In fact, Sony did have a game that broke that rule. It was PS All Star Battle Royale that broke that rule. (Announced April, released November)

But I consider PS Battle All Star to not qualify for a 'new IP' anyway, given that it's a fighting game that relies 100% of established IP characters duking out.

Is Halo remaster that big of a deal? I mean it's nice and all, but just look at last 2 or 3 Halo's MP numbers, with Destiny and Call of Duty on the horizon I don't see that many people picking it up and playing MP of Halo 2 (if the rumor is true).

As I previously noted, I don't mind the delay, hyberbole here is crazy (hrr, brr, Sony haz no gejmz), I would rather have polished new IP than rushed product that could eventually hurt the brand and Sony. (just look and launch titles)

Ok, I exaggerated lol.

This is how it went last gen: When the PS3 had weaker 3rd party titles and fewer 1st party titles it was 'PS3 has no exclusives.' Then, once Sony started producing more exclusives than MS, it changed to 'What matters is the multiplatform games and those run better on the 360'. Then when Sony continued to make even more exclusives and the gap between the multiplatforms closed a little ('sometimes' they were even better on the PS3) and the PS3 had caught the 360 in sales, it changed to 'But it doesn't really matter. This gen is nearly over.' Now this gen releases and where back to 'It doesn't really matter about the Multiplats, it's all about the exclusives.'

Again, I haven't seen anyone say Sony or the PS4 doesn't have any games in this thread. Not having a single major exclusive for the holiday though (not counting Driveclub since that's early fall) would just be extremely disappointing, is all.

Interesting. Looking at their wiki page, they made a ton of racing games. How will they transition to a 2d or 3d platformer?

Yeah, I don't know how I ignored the "new IP" part lol.

Have you got like, any quotes at all to back any of that up?

I can only speak for myself but I bought a 360 because it was cheaper (important) and the exclusives looked great (PS4 had them too, mind you, I just thought 360's looked better). Better multiplatforms didn't even figure at the time, I bought it for Dead Rising and GRAW. Then I bought a PS3 in 2012 because it was cheap and I wanted to catch up on the great looking exclusives.

This time around the hardware and price difference influenced me. Honestly the exclusives never make that big of an impact. I know that both consoles are going to have great exclusives.

But when RDR2 hits I want that 1080p30 goodness.

Woah! That's great. Interesting that they are using twitch. Does that mean that the gameplay will be live? Or perhaps recorded gameplay with some people talking about it.

Please let this "sneak peak" be more than just a few seconds of gameplay like last time. I would really love to see more of this game.

I hope it's recorded as well as on twitch since I'll be at work at the time :/

I'm sure it won't be that much, if they don't live demo the game at E3 that'd be really dumb.

I hope it's recorded also as I'll be at work at the time :/

Looking at the playstation channel, it looks like they archive past videos so you should be good.

The strange thing about The Order is the flow of events that's apparently going to take place:

- gamplay teaser today
- embargo lift on Monday? Apparently impressions and release date (delay confirmation?)
- then a live demo at E3 stage?

Seems like a weird way to pace things out.

LOL. This is going to be one amusing thread if the conversation stays here. I really hope it does. From browbeaten, defeatist talk to excitement and joy in ONE single day.

No matter how great the game looks, that doesn't change a single thing anyone has said about the impact the delay has if it's true.

I'm as hyped as anyone to see some real gameplay, but I really wanted the game out this year.

But theres still no confirmation about a delay, right?

Correct.

Wait, it's been confirmed?

lol, relax GAF. Nothing has been delayed. We only have tweets of unreliable "insider".

Sure, it's not officially delayed in the sense that Sony hasn't confirmed it yet. But it is delayed. Shinobi is reliable, and he has spoken with 100% confidence that the delay is happening. There's just no way he would do that unless he was sure. Add to that the delay rumblings from various members of the media.

No way this has been delayed. It will be out before holiday regardless if it's ready or not.

I wish you were right. Not going to happen though.
