The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

I actually went through the Playstation Store just now to check out some PSP games that i might download to play on Vita, and lol'd.

Sony REALLY needs to change the prices on some of these games man.

For example, how the hell is LocoRoco 2 $7.99, but LocoRoco is fucking $22.99?

I hope for their sake they address the pricing issue before Vita is launched.

Yeah, I brought up in the earlier vita thread that PSN could learn a lot from Steam about how to move digital content.

Maybe that's how Valve should "reward" Sony. They have tons to learn and Valve knows it better than anyone.

Has anyone seen any impressions of PSP games running on the Vita? I'm wondering with the better screen and horsepower if we might be able to play PSP games on the Vita with no dithering.
Scroll up eleven posts.

EDIT: Actually, it's not impressions at all - my bad.

First, Army Crops of He'll caught my attention after realizing the team behind it, and now I'm suddenly more interested in Lord of Apocalypse.

I also just read Kotaku's impressions of Lumines, where they talked a little about some of the planned modes and the number of Avatar powers (9), and it made me upgrade it to a day 1 purchase.

Sony could add a ton of value to Playstation Plus with the Vita. There's so much that the hardware can do that the possibilities with apps. is mind boggling.

Does anyone have any information on the colored PSPs that launched with the PSP-1000 in Japan? I've seen them mentioned, but through various searches, I can't even find a picture of them.

Is there a gamesharing option for the Vita?
We don't know yet, and I doubt we'll know until very close to the launch. It'll be interesting though, because if they're not allowed it's probably safe to say that publishers aren't happy with the current model.

For my part I hope they can keep the system so that it's possible to be shared across a single persons multiple systems, I'm not bothered whether people are able to share with other persons or not (Perhaps the Steam style gifting / group purchases might be a good alternative?).

Weren't they black only at launch?

I wish Level-5 loved me more, and announced this in October:

The Little Battlers HD eXperience
Dark Cloud 3G (Yes, I know it would be Sony announcing this)
Ni No Kuni Gaiden

What I expect: Time Travelers multiplatform. I'm really disappointed they supposedly only have a single Vita game in development according to the PR. I know it takes them ages to make anything, but yeah.

I'm also expecting The Little Battlers eXperience to go to 3DS (it makes too much sense), and Dark Cloud 3 to not exist.

Oh yeah, this is a game/thing I'm surprised no one has talked about on GAF:

It's a calendar version of the Badman/My Lord/No Heroes Allowed games.

Of the SCEJ 3 (Patapon, LocoRoco, Badman) this is the one I was least interested in seeing a debut on Vita, but I knew it was going to happen. Hopefully Yoshida's and my shared belief that a gyro, and touch controlled LocoRoco being cool becomes something. Though, him telling me some of the LocoRoco staff are working on Gravity Daze makes me kind of doubt that. :(

Indeed. I'm really interested in what the GPS stuff will turn out like, but that's the tip of the iceberg.

Saw this on N4G and a forum. Maybe the release date was accidentally posted on the Blog today as Feb 28th.

Dear Playstation Nation,
It is my pleasure to announce that PS Vita will be launching in North America on February 28, 2012. As it was announced during E3, PS Vita will available in two different models: Wifi Only for $249.99 and Wifi+3G for $299.99. This portable powerhouse will take you beyond your imaginations and put you in the ultimate hand held experience.
With titles like Resistance, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Little Deviants, WipeOut, and LittleBigPlanet, we are sure we will deliver on our promise of providing you with the gaming experience you deserve.

However the link to PSBlog is no longer working. If this is real.

Although I can see that going multiplatform or whatever one day, I don't think Time Travelers is the game they mentioned cause they said it's an RPG and I don't think Time Travelers an RPG. I may be wrong there.

I expect a Little Battlers sequel or something new.

Apparently the US Blog accidentally put up a post proclaiming that Vita is launching on Feb 28th. Several sites reported it but a lot haven't.

I'm not sure if it actually happened.

A very believable date. They get maximum positive press coverage thanks to the 5 week NPD reporting period and it keeps it clear enough from the March AAA game release blast radius.

Plus people will be getting money back from tax returns.

Hope we get a solid announcement of accessory prices. Don't bend us over too badly for the flash memory!
