The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

German-Gaf:

Want a Vita with three free games and a 4GB memory card?

Playstation-Liga is having a launch event on February 21st at the SonyStyle Store in Berlin. There are shuttle busses starting in many big cities that will take you for free to the launch event and back home. Included in the launch event is also a party with a concert and free food.

Only requirement is that you buy a Vita at the launch event.

The free games are Uncharted, Wipeout 2048 and Little Deviants. All downloads.

Wow, that's a great deal. I might even go to Germany for this, lol (I live in Holland).

One thing I wonder.. Do those three games even fit on the 4GB stick?

You have to be a registered Playstation Liga member (of course you can still register) and shoot an email to them that you want to participate in this event.

So no showing up without registration for the event

I want to pick up a VITA pretty badly, but the asking price here in Philippines is ridiculous. 385 dollars here just for the WiFi unit. I'm hoping after the Euro and US launches that the prices here will normalize.

I just realised something.

The 3DS i'm trading in for the Vita, I brought second hand from my work for £104 after staff discount (£129.99 minus 20% discount). I'm getting £130 for it using the GAME trade-in deal.

£26 profit! Ohh yeah.

whaaa? i got mine for php20k. wifi unit. accessory pack and a free game.

Yup that's from datablitz right? The wifi only unilt is about 16,200 php last time I checked and 20,000 for the value pack. With exchange rates around 385 dollars and 475 dollars respectively. Too much for me given the stateside prices.

What deal is this? I spoke to GAME here in dublin and the 3DS trade-in value is only €90. UK & IRE usually have similiar deals...

Obviously not this time. All UK game and gamestations are offering £130 credit when you trade in a 3DS against a Vita.

That's all currently. There was just an interview with Yoshida where he said they were going to be adding to remote play. He specifically mentioned LittleBigPlanet, and they already demoed Killzone3, which isn't not currently supported.

For hackers it is. ;)

Oh man, that is so awesome. I really love the design for this game. is the character designer internal artist in team siren or are they just commissioned or recently joined just for Gravity Daze project?

if the artist is already in team siren since long ago, as much as I like Siren, I think it is such a waste for his/her talents to be stuck doing Siren all this time. I want more fantasy games from this guy.

The character designs look really familiar. I dunno if it's an anime or manga or maybe a book featuring artwork done by japanese character designers but the style is definitely familiar.

I keep thinking it's done by someone who did Birdy The mighty decode... but then i'm wrong on that. The character designer has definitely done stuff i've witnessed before.

Sortof agreed. But we desperately need a new Siren game!!!!

Is there a list of all launch window Vita titles that support multiplayer in this thread yet? I'd really like to have this information in one place.

I know this might stir up some trouble but to the people who ARE trading in their 3DS for a Vita, what was the deciding factor to pull the trigger? I bought a 3DS for $250 and have well over 10+ games for it including Mario 3D Land, MK7, etc. However, even with Revelaitons (I did that on purpose btw) and other games coming out, I feel I'd have a better time enjoying a Vita.

I sold my 3DS a few months after launch, I only had SFIV. Face Raiders was fun.
I personally felt peed on by Nintendo's hardware philosophy, didn't enjoy the screens and build quality and suffered from the screen mark issue.

A few weeks after I sold it the price dropped substantially, so I didn't lose that much.

I'm interested in the 3DSLite if it ever gets released.

wait, I think you're right, the biggest change in latest fw is for ps1 games. now if you want to transfer ps1 game to psp, you need the installer and cannot simply copy the installed game to psp

Ok! That's why the installer hasn't been auto-deleting for PS1 games? I've been deleting them manually. Had no clue.

I wonder if you will require the installer for PS1 games on Vita.

I own 3 3DS games, but I'm not trading my hardware in. I'd probably just rebuy it later on anyways.

Found this in Google and on Gamefaqs, a list via search on the Japanese Playstation site that lists PS Vita compatible games, and I DID spot Tactics Ogre on there afterall. It probably isn't a guarantee for US compatibility, and the one game I mentioned (Brave Story) shows up only as a UMD game when I dug up the Japanese name, but most of those I'd want like Atlus and Falcom games are there.

It's crazy they already have 640 compatible games.

We already have 2 3DS systyems in the house so my son and I have decided to trade one in for a vita.
I played one today on a whim and fell in love with the vita, the screen and the UI is so much better than what 3DS can do.
BUT let's hope sony don't screw this up.

Since when does the ps3 do that?
Since day 1 as far as i know. You first download the .pkg file, then you have to install it.

EDIT: You can of course download it without having 6GB of space in my example, but then you wont be able to install it. So if you have a 4GB card, download a 3GB file, then it is only 1GB left and 3GB is needed for install.

Yeah, I remember seeing ads for 3DS in Canada two-three weeks before launch. They actually worked on me... :/*

*I do love my 3DS.

But next week is going to be 2 weeks from Launch lol. I know with the first edition and all we know it comes out a week earlier but that bundle is for the truly hardcore gamers, I think we'll see more news and probably ads as earlier as the super bowl.

Didn't the PS3 always do that?

No demo or game I've downloaded has taken up 2X the file size on my HDD. Unless that changed in the last FW? If so, that's idiotic on Sony's part. People are asking them to make their download/install system like MS and Nintendo, and instead they go and make it even worse.

Sold mine for 115 at GameStop, which wasn't a bad deal for a $169 purchase.

It doesn't stay at twice the size. Once it's installed the installer gets deleted. You just need double the space until that process is completed.

Maybe a bit poorly worded from my side. I didnt mean to say that it takes 2X the space, i ment to say that 2X the space is needed to install it :) I.e 3GB to download the game/demo, then about the same amount to install it. After it is installed, then the downloaded file is being deleted.

Not seen anything ads or anything in the UK for Vita yet. I remember the 3DS having a month of ads before launch.

In Finland Sony has a Vita tour in gamestops/3G provider shops but there has been no advertisement at all. Guess they trust that the word of mouth will be strong enough to sell the initial batch.
