The PSV2000 has an IPS LCD Panel?

Low PPI by modern standards, poor color accuracy by any standard, and the mura effect that's been well discussed already in this thread.

The only things good about it are the things that are good about any OLED panel - deep blacks, vivid colors and wide viewing angles.

well, not quite. it's super AMOLED plus, meaning proper RGB stripe as opposed to a pentile subpixel layout. it's probably the most pixel-dense non-pentile AMOLED display ever shipped in a mass-market product; samsung's phones from the GS3 onwards were all pentile, though it because less of a problem once the GS4 went to 1080p. this is important for the vita because you get a pretty sharp image with clear quality despite the fairly low resolution. pentile at that res would've been a disaster.

but yes, in other ways it had typical 2011ish AMOLED issues like colour shift at wide viewing angles and oversaturated colours. i'd still take it over the 2000's LCD though.

buuut not enough for me to take the 1000 over the 2000, which is better in every other way and still has a pretty decent panel in most regards beyond resolution.
