The real story behind Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" (it was stolen, what a shock!)

That is not what happened. Ryan was tired of waiting for Leona to record it so he gave it to Beyonce. And the song fits Beyonce better anyway, she does a wonderful job with it.

Pretty much. Halo is one of the best songs on the album, and she did a fantastic job with it.

On iTunes, is KEIKO's "If I Were A Boy" really BC Jean? It sounds like the original on Jean's website, but it is a little more produced whereas the website's version is rougher.

Beyonce stole If I were A Boy

Beyonce stole SIngle Ladies dance off of Bob Fosse' choreography. There are atleast 15 blatant copies.

Beyonce is not orginal what so ever. Deja Vu is a copy of Crazy In Love, Single Ladies is a copy off of Get Me Bodied.

Beyonce lies and says she writes but she doesn't. Ne-Yo completely wrote Irreplaceable yet she claims she did, once saying "This is a song I wrote about strong women" before performing it. Wtf.

Lastly, Beyonce and he father are frauds. She will change a word or two just to get a writing credit for more $ and credibility, as will her father. She claimed she recorded her follow up album without her father's knowledge, yet he has a credit as execuite producer. Either Beyonce is lying or they tagged that credit on so he'd get paid. Her whole career is a disaster, behind the scenes.

Even if this story were true, I find it hard to care about one pop industry robot screwing over another pop industry robot.

People need to stop listening to this garbage. All of it. It's all crap.

One topic Friedman nailed on the head is the entitlement of recording artists to a slice of the radio royalty pie. The medium itself has become diluted and less relevant as a promotional tool, so that indirect benefit to the performers - whose voices and personalities radio stations make their dime in ad revenue on - doesn't really seem sufficient anymore.

Their recordings, their names, their personalities, their reputations, their talents: they all make recording artists just as deserving of residual claims as the songwriters and the folks on the other side of the recording booth, who already get their well-earned and deserved share.

I don't think it's really safe to assume that giving performers their fair cut of radio residuals would diminish the business of songwriting-credit 'agreements' in the recording industry, though. Friedman is taking a bit of a leap there, but regardless, it's an issue that needs reform.

my friends in the industry hate working with the dad

Is he that bad of a person?

I mean, I really don't care. I even didn't know that his dad was his manager. But it seems he's not quite friendly, or something like that.

I'm not much of a Beyonce fan at all (neither her singing nor her looks), but having said that, I think BC's version sounds absolutely terrible. Her voice sounds as if she smokes a carton a day and honestly I would have written it off as mediocre pop tripe if I had heard her version on the radio. I see Beyonce's version for likewise being aimed at the pop charts, but the difference being I actually stopped to listen to the song and inquired who sang it when I heard it on the radio the other day. It's really like night and day what her voice does for it.
Every single word of this perfectly applies to me....even the "I actually stopped to listen to the song and inquired who sang it when I heard it on the radio the other day" part perfectly applies to me

Look, I take that overweight comment back alright. I got into it a bit and just blurted it out. Hell, my favorite current pornstar is Alexis Texas. I'm just as down with a big round ass as anybody else here.

BC is still hotter tho

I'm not following you. What's wrong with mentioning your favorite pornstar... I'm sure there's been threads here about it. Alexis Texas, look her up man.
