The Saros Numbers are in!!

Hmm, let's say the average number of deaths is 30 per player.

Then 13.3M/30 = 0.443M or around 440,000 copies sold.

If the average is 40 deaths then it = approx 330,000

I doubt the average could be any lower than 20 so that would = 665,000. That would be the best case scenario.

It's likely to be between 350,000 - 450,000 copies sold imo.

This is good extrapolation. So at worst it sold 300k, at best it sold less than 700k.

Likely around 500k by now, it might barely break even at budget of $80 million.
How did you get 700K? If the avg hours played is 21 acording to HLTB and you multiply it with 700K would mean almost 14.7m hours played and they announced 6.63 mil.

If they're not showing anything akin to sales numbers to brag about, they're not that great.

Doesn't mean they're that bad, or a failure for their budget, but not some big success.

Just going by the graph line, if the average was 10 hours. 660k seems to be the maximum copies it could sell.

Average hours will change obviously. Copies will still continue being sold. Problem is reaching one million might not be doable at close to full price, so the game might never make profit unless PC release.

The price of this game was the main problem. Not even the cuck simulator thing that is only an Internet thing.

It's too late now anyways, even if they cut the price in half which is the price I would have bought it at launch.

I'd say 400k-500k sold seems probable so far. That is basically one month in. For comparison Returnal did 860k in the first year.

I'd say it is likely Saros will sell a bit better, not by much, but a million in the first year seems likely.

A total disaster if this was a $300 million game from a California based studio, but Housemarque is a rather small Finnish developer, so who knows.

How we will hide embarrassing sales numbers ?
...........................................

Maybe not the ones you were hoping for, but numbers nonetheless

Ran some numbers based on the progression trophy rarities on PSN. Due to it making assumptions on the average hours it takes players to complete, using HLTB figures etc, it could be very wrong, but it's a possibility. 656k players.

That 'total hours played' number is not something spectacular. If we assume that a person will typically spend 20 hours with this game (and had a whole month to do it) this would put the player numbers close to that 350k rumor.

So the average playtime is on the low end of my math. Damn.

This is the standard operating procedure after a game has obviously flopped and they're still in the control the narrative phase to hit as many launch price sales as possible.

Love this game tbh, the art direction is insanely good. Gameplay is also great; could use some fine-tuning here and there. The progression isn't perfect either and the story/characters are absolute shit.

It's a real showcase of gfx and art; gameplay shines too; but this should never be a 80 euro title. 49,99 would've made more sense imo.

It's one of those games that sends an email when you hit certain milestones - was odd to get a message from PSN telling me to buy Saros about two weeks after the one I got congratulating me on the plat.

Seems to be taking 25-35 hours for most people to get the plat, so that hours played stat isn't great.

Furthermore, in my case, I'll speak...

The game's low sales are largely due to PlayStation's current reputation.

I mean, Saros include a terrible storyline that literally denigrates humanity of male... And then there's Sony's actions, which are preventing this game from selling.

I mean, if Sony provided games for everyone, like Japan Studio...

I would have bought it already, because they offer support to their customers.

But as long as Sony continues its illogical actions... I won't buy anything from them.

Next time lets stay away from rogue lite mechanics and please keep the story simple in your "arcadey" game, we dont need a course in cuck bicurious psychology to play a fucking shooter game.
