No worries, man. We will work it out. And thanks again, it is great.
Here you go, resized the canvas. Use this URL:

Damn it, I've been waiting to see if he did GL all day. Didn't know you could claim them before they'd been posted. Guess I'll just have to try making my own now that requests aren't being taken anymore.

Sorry mate. :(

I was away when all this started, and when I did get back, requests weren't allowed. I wanted Batman, but he was snatched up before I got home, and then Flash was also taken, so I figured I'd jump the gun and make a claim if it's the Hal Jordan GL.

That is super awesome! Honestly this is perfect, but if you were going to do more, here's what references I can offer. I should have said that her full name was Litchi Faye Ling. XD

But really there's nothing wrong with it the way I see it. I LOVE IT! :D

Hello!

Sorry for my late response, I've been willing to do the other one but my screen died so I'm without photoshop 'till I can fix it, I even had to change my own avatar to one that I made and was supposed for grabs because I didn't noticed that I screwed up my first one and I can't fix it yet :lol

Anyway, thanks a lot for the new references, I'll make sure to tell you when the new Litchi is ready. :D

We both got screwed out of batman, it seems. Oh well...

Suppose it now falls to us to use our imagination to figure out what we should request, should requests ever open...

Some friendly advice if you make more in the future: Sketch maybe 2-3x the final size, then shrink down to 90 width. Right now you'll need to resize the canvas to add some blank space padding so it's 90 wide. :)

BasicUAE said:
Thanx for the advice ; ). Will do that next time, if there will be a next time.
See, if you don't do that, your avatar ends up blurry AND resized over the limit in size (90x120), so you need to change it pretty quick. You can use this URL instead:

Holy hell. Pretty good for a first try. I got disheartened after looking at the youtube videos. So much skill there.

Definitely going to give mine another shot.

Sheeeeit, I love The Wire like I love breathing and came pretty close to doing the Omar avatar a few times. I'm out of town and without my tablet for a couple more weeks, though.

this is what i like to hear. whoever gets to it whenever, i'll be happy to display it.

Okay, I finally cleared up everything I needed to, so now I can focus on making these once again. I'll get back on the list tomorrow, but here's something I whipped up out of boredom: Scribble Arakune. I made two of them too. One in its normal pose, and one in its victory pose.

Again, sorry for disappearing so abruptly.

Here's my attempt at gorons from zelda :)
Excellent, but you have the dimensions wrong again. They need to be 90 pixels wide, or they will be scaled and go too big. For the adult gorons, just increase the canvas size to 90 wide. You could do the same for the baby, or you could size him up a bit.

The goal is to have width exactly equal to 90 and height less than or equal to 120.

NOT AGAIN :O

This should do it.

So here is the Shiren request for djdac. It took a long time because I am a graphics noob and didn't even know what pathing was. I spent a couple days reading how-to's and watching it on youtube.

I actually had finished drawing Shiren the old way, but it's hardly Scribble-worthy. I'm only posting it because I worked on it for two days.

I also didn't realize until later that the pose ends up a little indecent once it is avatar size.

One more thing, even though I played the game for several months on DS, I never really noticed that his cape was striped until I was trying to draw it. :lol

Wow, this is roguelike! ^^
How long took the second version?

Starting at the bottom, it took about 2 hours to do his boots and pants (kept starting over). But it only took another 1.5 hours on all the rest of it. :lol I was flying towards the very end.

I salvaged the hat and his pet, which really helped. It's usually on his shoulder, but you can see him better this way.

Gonna go make the normal Amaterasu now, then I'll do another request.

I had completely forgotten that I had made the request, and I tend to not notice PM notifications, so I'm way late in saying this, but awesome work, and thanks. :D

Mhh, so around 4 hours, probably more from scratch... I´m looking into making one of these myself but like you I have absolutely no experience with gimp oder photoshop. Maybe I´ll try something next week, when I have more time.

Aw, shoot. Thanks for telling me.

Hey, does anyone know who made Smooth Criminal Michael?

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/06/scribbledudes2.jpg

Last one, top row. I'd REALLY love to claim him if he's not taken.
I'm actually confused. Both Cat in the Hat and Caspel are listed on the request list (which was updated today, on page 7), and both requested versions of Michael Jackson, at least as options, but I'm not sure either of them claimed anything. Maybe someone should PM them.

No problem :D

Edit: just a question for you fellow "Scribblenauters". How I can I smooth my lines without using something like the Blur tool? something that gives it that clean and polished look.

The only thing I know is what I mentioned earlier,
"Some friendly advice if you make more in the future: Sketch maybe 2-3x the final size, then shrink down to 90 width."

I don't actually make them though, so I may be wrong. I think the shrinking is the main thing to improve quality, along with perhaps whatever magic vector tool that one guy uses. :lol

My little guy is kind of blurry. Anyone know how to make it more clear?

Ough BEATEN :lol
anyways here is my work in progress Altair... guess I'm not gonna go through with it. It's missing shadows and other stuff.

Edit: They look creepily similar....

Apologies! I like the style of your hood much better, though. Is there a page or post detailing who is working on what? I don't want to step on any toes :\

Nah man it's fine by me, good practice :D
And I don't think they keep a list of who's doing what.

Don't know about the blur, but you should check the image size. If width < 90 you risk having it deformed when somebody uses it as his/her avatar. And since it's already 120px tall, it would go over standard size.

Ugh. Choices.

No worries, choose whichever one you want. We were both just choosing from the pile and messing around with it. I had some free time so I thought I'd give it a go. No hard feelings if no one uses it. Good fun :D
