Not from TRU, shame it's an EB Games/Gamestop exclusive. Real shame. I got to hold out for it though, got to have the total package.

That's what I meant. Okay, then I don't feel so bad lol.

Anyone have any luck in Wisconsin? Preferably somewhere between Green Bay and Appleton. I called the TRU in Appleton last night and they didn't get their shipment in yet.

bioshock enjoyment guide, v.lol

1) any and all spoilings of the plot should be met with instant, permanent banning.

2) play as much as you can at night, in the dark, alone. with the sound up.

3) don't worry if you have too many plasmids/items and not enough slots or opportunities to change early on. you'll get more.

4) listen to all the recordings. explore every room. stop and look around every now and again.

5) enjoy.

Attention New York GAFers: the Toys r us in Long Island City has it. Or, I should say, had it. Bought it, and there was 2 copies left. Walked outside the store, called SnakeXS to tell him to come get it, walked back in 5 min later to ask the clerk to hold one for him, and BAM sold out already. I'm still shocked at how fast they sold. Poor SnakeXs... I failed you friend. =(

You stand over a genetically mutated corpse with a camera in hand, taking a picture of its final, twisted expression to appease a cruel puppet master. A haunting rendition of “Bei mir bist du schön” plays from a radio, over which you hear the low, whale-like cry of a Big Daddy as it ambles into sight. You freeze, but the hulking creature trips one of your proximity mines and fixes a glowing red eye on you in fury. Heart-stopping moments like these are what set BioShock apart as one of the most intelligent and daring masterpieces in gaming. The ruined utopia of Rapture is portrayed in vivid detail, and it’s impossible not to get immersed in the story of its collapse as you fight to escape with an ingenious mixture of weapons and powers. A focus on survival takes center stage, as the game gives you just enough resources to improvise, but never enough to feel totally secure. Even so, every battle is a new opportunity to experiment with your abilities and unlock your potential. The respawn system slightly diminishes the stakes, but the intensity never wanes; you’ve still got to make every bullet count. In terms of delivering chilling atmosphere, dynamic combat, and startling revelations, games just don’t come any better than BioShock.

From second opinion on the bioshock game informer review. Second opinion also gave it a 10/10...

Anyone have any Manhattan updates?

I called the TRU Times Square store again a few minutes ago. First spoke to someone at a call center or something and he said that the game was in the Times Square store's inventory, which means it should be out on the floor. BUT he transferred me to the store itself, and a woman said they've been getting calls about the game all morning and they didn't have it on the floor.

Someone needs to go to the store to find out if it's there or not.

skip can you do some digging at 2kgames for the people here?

I think all this is weird, but there might be a good explanation for it :P

No luck in the Georgia Alpharetta area.
I hit the TRU (said they had none and usually get shipments on Friday?), Target (oddly enough had Stranglehold but no Bioshock), CC, BB, and one Gamestop all near the North Point Mall area with no luck. I still need to go to the Fry's after work however.

Just got back from Toys 'R Us in Cary, NC.

Unfortunately they not only had no copies of the game on sale, they had a sign saying something to the effect of "Despite rumors to the contrary, we won't have the game until August 22nd."

Of course, I realize this is a blatant lie, but I can't figure out if it's just easier to say "We don't have it" than "We have it in the back but can't sell it" or if they genuinely don't have any copies yet.

Snake's a Bonus Stage loyalist anyways. (Astoria Represent.)

Seriously? That's not even supposed to be out until the 28th.

St. Louis TRU had no fucking clue about anything. It was like talking to a toddler.

"You guys have Bioshock in yet?"

"No."

"Is it going to be in today?"

"No."

"Do you know when it's coming in?"

"No."

"Do you know anything?

Fuck that, Paul (the guy who owns the place) is my friend. I pay wholesale. He makes nothing off of me. I'm not dying to save 5 bucks of fucking Bioshock. He don't have it, I go elsewhere. I got no luck at all. =[

2 hours until I leave for work, damnit. Gotta find something. =\

So true. When I went to go pre-order Madden on Monday (to get the $5 GC) I actually got lost getting to it! I could SEE the damn place from 394 and I had gone by it so many times in the past. I had no idea it was off that damn little road by a bunch of car dealerships!!

The same dude works in the game section every time I've been in since Monday. It must be lonely as hell. There's never anyone else in the game area with me. It's even funnier too because they now have the game section in its own little secured "playpen." It's like we're going in to look at pr0n in a backroom or something. :lol

Wow lots of MN people on here. I checked the Burnsville MN TRU. They don't have any and say they won't sell until next week.

about the early release? I can't believe they're happy about it (and wouldn't be keen on trying to help people get it early) -- this sort of thing messes up their marketing plans.

but hey, the better for the rest of us.

I'm sure this was asked, but anyone check the TRU in Queens on Northern Boulevard? Probably will make a run to some local mom and pop shops that have no allegiances to street dates.

Thanks LJ!!! You're the man!! BIOGET!

LOL, I posted this on the last page. I too think they have them and found out they can't sell them.

Is this official "break the street date" week? What the hell is going on?

TRU in Alexandria, VA is a no go. I know the chick that works in the R Zone and she told me that the other TRU are breaking street date. She had a smile on her face so I'm sure that means she has it behind the counter and enjoys telling people like me to fuck off. :D

Whoa - please divulge. Do we have another game to chase down here?

Heh. I was playin' anyway. I'm still holding out for that LE so this is just a strange exercise in cruelty watching all this unfold.

well yeah, but it seems strange that the commercial also changed suddenly, just as the street date was broken.

Maybe it was a mistake, maybe it was coincidence...

I am glad there is an LE or I would be out there running around with my head cutoff looking for this thing. Something to wait for.

I know, I'm just upset. Vyse gets to me after buying his to tease me, and I'm all WTF YOU DIDN'T GET ME ONE, and he's all "lol im an idiut" and goes in to tell the guy to hold me one as I'm calling a cab and PWNED, all gone. =[

Which one? I was going to check the one off of Clarkson road today. Calling is worthless IMHO.

I got it. Call now, dude said they had only a few copies left, call and ask him to hold it.

Where, the TRU on Northern? WTF, Vyse was there this whole time and says they had nothing...

Unless you mean elsewhere...

I'm sure they still have a few copies left, didn't seem like there was much demand. Yet, at least. Wasn't on display, the fellow had to go into the back to grab my copy.

The one in LIC on Northern, in that strip mall. They have it in the back, just ask the clerk.

Vyse fail amount = reaching critical mass. On the phone right now. Thanks bud.

Called, they said they have 1 left, he said he'd hold it for me, for 30 minutes. No problem.

I do, however, totally expect to arrive in 10 and it be gone, but alas. Here we go!
