with cars like these gaf is going to turn into a car forum, wth!
so many nice rides.

cause im from the great white north, winter just finished now, so basically as soon as i get a chance to wash my car and take pics, will post them right after.

I'm too lazy to go and take some pics of my car, so I went to car sales.com.au and found one identical to mine but different kms.

sorry for size but it is a Holden Commodore Executive VZ (I think they were rebranded as chevvies in USA):

Preview of the next executive whip, should arrive in April/May:

VW Mk VI GTI 2-door with DSG, 18inch alloy rims. I'll be picking it up directly at the Wolfsburg factory, with factory visit, wellness weekend around and all the shebang:D

LOVE the new GTIs. Beautiful and comfortable. Screw the haters, I love soft suspensions.

Also got the specialty delivery (factory tour, hotel, lunch/dinner, plus a nice little vacation) when I got my Volvo C30 back in 07. Loved it.

May 16th will be the motherfucking day!
Arrival at the Autostadt on the 15th, Spa Day at the Ritz-Carlton, Executive Suite, dinner at the AQUA, then american Breakfast on sunday, factory tour and pickup of "ze ride":D

Back to Cologne and next gourmet dinner with the honoraries on sunday evening...

Life is good!

There's a lack of Saab in this thread I think. I'll fix that.
(I apologize for the crappy photos, but these will do till I can take some better ones)

I don't have a nice car at the moment, but this is my friend's Holden Commodore SS. Tuned and it has MagnaFlow exhaust, custom air intake and pully.

We are having fun with it. Shit is fast for its weight.

Two years ago unfortunately.... upgraded to a 2002 Chevy Impala LS :P ...the one in the driveway of this pic, actually!
I love that it has Silhouette plastered across it when that cars actual silhouette would induce vomiting in most humans.

Disclaimer: I drive a Hyundai Excel. Although I will be getting something a bit nicer soon (actually the reason I came in to this thread).

Now I just need to learn how to drive a manual so that I can drive it :P[/QUOTE]

So you smoke cigars but don't know how to drive stick? The fuck? Cool persona is ruined I tell ya! :)

:lol

Strangely I actually learned to drive on a manual but all the cars that I have owned have been automatics so I just haven't driven one for about 10 years. It would probably just take me a bit to get used to again.

Cool persona redeemed? :P

We might buy two cars, one between BMW 7 Series, Merc S class and Audi A8, and another between BMW 5 series (the regular one, not Gran Turismo), Merc E class and Audi A6.

I've decided on the A8 and the BMW 5 series. Is it a wise choice? Remember, i'll be driving in India where top speed doesnt enter the equation, i'm more looking for comfortable driving and luxury.

Any suggestions/recommendations/cautions?

If you're talking about the newest of each, I've read that the new A8 is very very good. But I think each of those, 7/S/A8, deliver. You should definitely try them all out.

Do you think you father would let you drive it? I know I wouldn't let my kid drive my Porsche (if I had one).

It's like riding a bike. Once you learn, it should come back easy. And No, cool persona not redeemed.
Start driving the Porsche!

India? Damn you must be some baller as hell factory owner!

But to answer your question I really love the A6 interior and I'd assume the A8 would transfer.

Personally I prefer the A6/A8 style but Mercedes would come in second, while BMW's are dead to me now in terms of looks.

To start off with, you guys make me feel bad about my cars. I hope to have a nice new car someday.

That said, Mercedes-GAF is unusually weak. I saw two Mercedes-Benz in this whole thread. Shameful.

This is a D 200 '78. Wonderful interior, but accelerates really, really slowly.

And this is an SD 300 '86. Acceleration is much, much better, but the interior is way to dark for my tastes (dark brown). Dig all the extras, like the sunroof and power chairs.

For my first new car I hope to get a Mercedes Benz C 300 or C 350, and eventually work my way to a E 350, Tesla S, or Fisker Karma...

A man can dream, can't he?

That great! I test drove the A6 and it was great. Didnt like the MMI though... Not that iDrive is much better. But I definitely enjoyed driving the BMW 5 series more. It felt much... sportier.

I thought the A6 was very luxurious, so I can only imagine what an A8 would be like. The new one is supposed to be updated looks wise and have many new features. Also, Why do you not like the looks of the BMW? Is it a subjective preference or is there something which you find lacking in them.

I actually liked driving the 5 series best. My plan is to keep the 5 series for myself while the A8 could be more of a family car (when parents/grandparents go out.)

Yeah, he said that he would. I actually don't have a great track record with vehicles but thats why people have insurance, eh?

Well I'll have to give it a shot then. And its now my life's goal to redeem the cool persona that I wasn't even aware that I had :P

Here is my ride, 07 Scion tc. TRD suspension, TYC tailights, and upgraded stereo, but mostly stock. I love it. Her name is Boomer. (Scion/Cylon thing)
