GAFers have good taste in cars.

Cousin got a flat on the freeway and called me for help. GF tagged along. I was trying to take off his lug nuts, but the tool kept spinning so I guess it didn't fit properly, not sure if his wheels being aftermarket had anything to do with it. GF was in between my car and my cousin's car, I was kneeling at the front passengers side when the drunk driver hit my car at 90+mph. I was instantly knocked out, but my GF remembers laying on the road/dirt and the ambulance. She didn't realize that her leg was crushed till we got to the hospital.

Yeah that's my car, a Scion tC. The guy was uninsured and his car had no insurance from what I remember. The only settlements we received was from our own insurance companies. Didn't help much considering I had no health insurance and my hospital bill was over $1 million.

The drunk driver got two years in prison. Got out in one for good behavior.

My condolences :( after seeing those pics I'm glad to see you guys made it out alive.

How much did you end up paying for that corolla? I'm looking for a small car like that, the focus, or a mazda 3. What made you go to the corolla over those?

It was on sale, the price was like $18k something, they took off $3k for the sale on July 4th, then put down $3k down payment. So only owe like $13,000 something after taxes.

Daily Audi and Weekend Audi

Urgh. Eat a dick.

I love your R8...so jelly

My 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. It's been paid-off for two years, and it'll likely be the last internal combustion engine vehicle I ever own. We're going to go as car-free as possible in the near future now that we're in the old city core, but we still need one vehicle for evacuating from hurricanes or visiting relatives out in the country.

Growing up, I always wanted a Jeep. So when I got the means to make it happen, I made it happen. Good car. Reliable.

Yeah not a MKVII but still a 2013 Golf. :)

That's a very, very weird way to write 2010. It seems the exact same as the 2010 my girlfriend owns. But please do enlighten me, because as far as I know there'll be an *actual* 2013/mk7 soon and to do a facelift this close to release seems really weird and unusual.

man, I wish I wouldn't have to have a licence plate infront. almost makes me wish I would've gotten the sports line trim.

Maybe there is a cultural difference in how we view model years, but here in Europe: Production year = model year. The cars are sometimes updated, a 2010 does not have the same features which a 2012 has and so on.

This is what it says when you look up the regnr. on VWs webzone.

Well then fellow european with your car from the future, what's new with your model? Genuinely curious.

(Also, next time you take really pretty shots of your pretty car, clean the lid of the trunk. you can still see the dirt ;))

Yes it is dirty after a 300 km drive home in the rain, sorry. :P I at least photoshoped away the 100 bugs stuck to the front of the car. ;)

I am not sure what the differences are. I don't have a similar car to compare it to.

IIRC in VWs mind (and many other manufacturers), if a car is produced after June (I think it is) it becomes the next years model.

and bugs are cool, man. just proves that you went fast :>

I drive a Škoda Octavia II Combi

Škoda is considered a budgetbrand I guess, but in essence it's just a Volkswagen Golf that's roomier, has more luxuries standard and costs roughly (same options) € 5-7k less.

Anyway, bought it new in 2008 and I love that car. It drives like a dream, is glued to the road, the seats are great and adjustable in every way you can imagine and with the backseats down I can move half the contents of a small-sized house in one go (tested and true). Plus it has a great sound system to boot with subwoofers and tweeters in both front and back doors.

Can't imagine selling it within the next 10 years.

He's actually right, there is a difference, model years in the EU are the years it's build in and actually don't match up with real years, but rather year counts in the factory. For instance, my car is modelyear 2008, although the actual model is from 2004. Each year minor difference are made "under the hood". For instance, the modelyear 2009 Octavia has cornerlighting as an option (the front fog lights light up if you take a corner under a certain speed), mine cannot do that. It's minor stuff like that, minor engine and software tweaks.

Here are some pics of my 1998 BMW M3 (Marcy) when I picked her up in Florida:

I don't have really any current pics as she pretty much looks the same she did when I got her 60k miles ago. Not sure what I want to do with her going forward. Been thinking about doing some simple modifications or trading her toward an S4/6 Avant. Still not sure yet.

the white contrasted with the black mirrors and other lines looks sweet

That new BMW 3 series looks so unbelievable good, my god

yup they are nicee

i tried to hold off for them. more specifically the new m3. ran into a good deal on my 335i convert posted a few up and caved. now i'll just drive this into the ground and maybe move to the new m3 after they've been out a few years.

Well, I guess I'll make everyone who posts after me feel that much better about what they own.

My boring as shit daily driver:

Though with two kids I just wanted something that works. The car behind it (a 97 Taurus) is now gone as a chunk of the transmission literally fell out of it. That's what prompted me to get something that would probably still be driving in a decade or two.

So lucky, I'd love to go K04, but living in California, seems like I can only go Stage 1 and pass CARB. Nice color by the way.

I'm in Cali too. The only thing I would worry about is when I have to test for the smog certification six years from now. Even then, I'd probably just replace the exhaust and intake with the OEM ones to pass smog. :/

Oh wow, didn't knew we had this thread. :D

Just bought my Mini on the 21st, love it. ^^ Mini One with 95PS and 58 000km, 2007 model.

Already put in white indicator lights on the sides and a shorter aerial.

On the day I picked him up. :)

That is just awful.

First time I've cleaned it since getting the limo tint on the rear windows. I've seem people in Cali with tints of varying degrees on their front windows, but I don't want to be even more of a target for the 50.

Hah, yeah I've been in love with halos ever since I first started seeing them on Beemers. The soft white ones look kind of crappy with the newer high-output LEDs are nice and bright.

That is just awful.

Thanks? What's awful about it? Not to suggest that my tastes are beyond criticism but yours is honestly the first negative comment I've heard.
