Gotcha, yeah my memory is always hazy on this show. It moves pretty damn fast and changes so often it's hard to keep track sometimes.

Pretty great premiere. Glad to have this show and its no nonsense plotting and characters back, such a breath of fresh air compared to most shows on tv.

Poor Caroline, she was the cliffhanger in the season 2 premiere aswell right? I've really come to love her, after her finding her rather annoying in season 1.

Just finished watching it, great premiere!

Feel so bad for Damon, that was a bitch move by his brother

I wonder what is going to
happen to Caroline, I mean the mother is apparently dumb as hell that her husband, brother in law and son are Werewolves but knows that Caroline is a Vampire lol

I disagree about Stefan's actions. That was exactly what he had to do in order to make Damon stop looking for him. If he didn't stop looking, Klaus would have killed him.

I know its what he had to do, but its still a bitch move lol

I'm kind of sick of both Stephan and Damon, they are both selfish pricks. So Stephan saves Damon and what does that lead to....Stephan going on a murdering rampage killing innocent people. Hardly a great trade off.

I've grown to love Caroline! I hope its just a plot to get her and Tyler closer together or something. I hope at least *swoon*

Caroline has become my favorite character after her becoming a vampire. She is awesome, and her compelling Tyler's date to leave the party was hilarious.

So I was at a friends last week for a few days and was forced to watch the beginning of season one as her and her friends were going to marathon both seasons before the premiere. I have to say I was not impressed with the first episode, but after a few I got hooked and bought both seasons on bluray and have 4 to go in season 2 and have season 3 premiere dvrd

I honestly thought itd just be a lame twilight rip off, but there is a ton of great characters and development of characters on this show like Caroline who I hated at first and now love, but by far Damon is one of TVs best character developments ever. Great job by the writers and actor. Nina who plays Elena doesn't hurt watching the show either though....

Did you thank your friends :P

It's a shame most people write it off as a twilight rip off(like I once did) before given it a try. But I understand why

That I did, they thought it was hilarious that I was so anti-show at the start and now I talk to them about it whenever we get together for lunch, etc. I convinced another friend of mine who refused to watch it because he like myself thought it was just a twilight rip off, he is very much into the show now too.

I have enormous love for this series. After having watched the first episode of Season 3, it's shot up right up there with Fringe for me.

No frame of that 42-minute run was wasted. Just lovely.

Having just finished season 2 (watched both seasons in like 4 days) and watching the season 3 premiere its really amazing how consistently great this show is and continues to just get better.

New episode tonight.

Episode Title: The Hybrid. Klaus puts a plan in motion that will give him even more power, but even with the unwilling participation of werewolf Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher), things don’t go exactly as Klaus had planned. Damon and Alaric reluctantly go along with Elena’s new strategy to find Stefan, leading Damon into a dangerous fight with an unexpected enemy. Jeremy turns to Matt for help as he continues to try to understand what the ghosts from his past want from him. Unaware that Caroline is in need of his help, Tyler faces an emotional confrontation with his mother.

Premiere was awesome.

I wish people in my life would stop thinking I was weird for liking this show.

Ehh who cares what they think, enjoy it. It's their loss that they aren't able to enjoy quality.

Whoa
ghost drama
wasn't expecting that
Ya that surprised me. Regarding next weeks preview
was that Klaus grabbing Damon in the bar? I assume he has realized Elena is not dead.

I thoroughly enjoy this show week in and week out (past the first couple eps before it found itself). The
possibly untrustworthy ghost storyline
looks like it has potential in addition to the hybrid arc. CW really has been rocking the genre shows the last few years.

This series has officially turned gold for me. Literally every episode is no-nonsense when it comes to giving you what you have to know. I was engaged second-to-second. How they've written Damon's character is just wonderful. Lack of Bonnie doesn't bother me. And btw, looks like Caroline's become the staple cliffhanger scene star thus far.

Oh wow. That episode was epic. NO filler whatsoever. Just epic scene after epic scene. That part where
Klaus put two and two together that Elena might not be dead
and stared Stefan down. And man, all of these characters are doing a fantastic job. I am really loving the direction the Jeremy storyline is taking, and I'm glad they found a way to naturally flow Matt back into the story.

And that cliffhanger got me. A+ Episode.

Great episode as usual. Loved the ending.

I really hope they find a way to have Anna come back for real, I loved her character.

Me too.

Indeed. The characters just do not mess the fuck around, they ask questions and get things done. Tyler's plotline this episode is pretty reflective of how the show propels things forward unlike any other show on tv. Really damn impressive storytelling, pacing and characterisation every single week. So many people are missing out because of the name, channel and those shitty opening episodes, such a shame.

One thing that bother me about yesterday's episode was how
Stefan was able to hear the crew hiking and Klaus didn't eventhough they were around the same spot

Ratings came in with a 1.2 demo and 2.5 million viewers, bit of a drop from the season premier, but it was going against some hefty competition this week. Will be interesting to see if it bounces back some now that the other premieres are done.

That was a bit odd
That or he did hear them and didn't think anything about it other than just another group of campers, then again I'm sure he'd recognize their voices, who knows.

Same here. Emphasis on "naturally". Like it didn't at all feel like "this actor's not getting enough screen time so we should make a story for him," it was just, he's there, he IS part of the story. And I'm sorry in advance for being a shipper, but Jeremy/Matt is <3 lol

I also really appreciate how they devoted some time to flesh out the father-children dynamic of Ric and Elena. Seeing Ric moving back in was just a very nice moment.

Saw this weeks episode and loved it. The staredown that Klaus gave Stefan when he realized that Elena might be alive was great. The last scene between Elena and Damon was fantastic, the writing was great especially that one last line. And oh man that cliffhanger. This is show doesn't disappoint, it just has the perfect balance of storytelling and progression and mystery to keep you watching.

I was wondering this too.
My guess was that Klaus knew and he is just messing with Stefan to test his loyalty or something. Or that maybe being a hybrid isn't so "perfect" afterall.

Probably the best series ever for no f'ing around plot advancement. Just about every other show in the 'mystical/sci-fi' genre are giant cock teases. It also helps a bit that the acting/script is excellent and the cast isn't bad to look at either. I'm not ashamed to admit to people that I like this show anymore.

It seems like Klaus needs the doppleganger dead to make new hybrids, so I doubt he knows Elena is alive.

I dismissed this as a twilight type show at first but its nothing like that piece of shit fanfiction. VD is a fun entertaining supernatural show. Hell I think I even prefer it to True Blood which as of S2 started walking down the vampire fanfiction path as well.

I'm glad to see so many people enjoying this show. I know I just recently started, but damn if it isn't the most consistent show and one of the best written shows out there. The acting has really gone up with each season too. I hope its around for awhile.

Season 2 was epic in TVD, got hooked on the show because of last season. Season 1 was really good towards the end..

I watch this because it isn't like a twilight type show..

It's so hard to get my friends to watch this show. Even after I convinced them that it ISNT like Twilight whatsoever, they watch the first couple of episodes of Season 1, see the relationship woes, and dismiss it as Twilight, cursing me under their breath for wasting their time. Maybe I should just start them off at Season 2? lol

I was in the same boat for myself that I felt it was just a twilight TV series a few episodes in, but my friends were insistent that I watch more. I'm glad I listened, just keep bugging them =P

Same thing happens to me when i tell them about it also .
So now i tell them watch from ep 10 or 11 of season 1.

Show was okay but season 2 really made me like , it also helps that it's one of the few shows with a on going story threw the eps.

I tried to tell my cousin: Look man, this shit is crazy good.

Him: Hmmm...okay
Me: And pretty much every girl that showed up in it is fine
Him: Hmm, okay
Me: It's called Vampire Diaries
Him: :\
Me: Just watch it, I promise it'll be worth your while
Him: Alright man. /looks at episode 1 and 2
Him: YOU TOLD ME IT WASNT LIKE TWILIGHT
Me: Just get deeper in, I promise
Him: Meh, I might get to it.

The end of season 1 was where it was like "Okay, this show has potential to be good" and then in Season 2, once it got going (which didn't take long) it was like "Holy shit, this show is GOOD"

And then in this season they haven't dropped the quality at all. Given the latest horrible and awful season of True Blood, I'd say I'd take The Vampire Diaries over it every time.

This show is leagues better than True Blood. No contest. I just wish that VD had the production values of TB.

I was skeptical about keeping Klaus around at the end of last season, but he's growing on me. He fills the role of the villain very well without being cartoonishly evil, stupid or incompetent. Billing him as a primary character on the show for the season is actually working out very well.
