I wonder if the people who go on media blackouts for everything really enjoy the game/movie/book any more than anyone else does? I wish I could be with the type of person who would be upset about this when they watched season 3.

Promo images, preview discussion, etc... goes either behind a link or in spoiler tags - that's the way it's been done in this thread and most of the other ones on TV GAF. That way people have the option of checking it out or not based on their preferences. For me, it's a matter of being considerate to people that don't want to see it.

AMC announced today The Walking Dead Season 3 Preview Weekend on Sat., Jul. 7 and Sun., Jul. 8 beginning at 11:30AM/10:30c each day. Airing just one week before Comic-Con, the two-day programming event will feature a marathon of all 19 episodes from the series' critically acclaimed first two seasons, culminating with a Talking Dead live primetime special on Sun., Jul. 8 at 9/8c. The one-time-only airing of Talking Dead, hosted by Chris Hardwick (Nerdist), will be followed by a never-before-seen black and white version of The Walking Dead pilot episode at 10/9c. The special version of the series' first episode was created specifically for fans of The Walking Dead, as it holds true to the original black and white comic book, written by Robert Kirkman.

Throughout The Walking Dead Marathon, Hardwick will introduce each episode from the set of season three in Atlanta, giving viewers a glimpse of the new sets. Along with several cast members and producers, he will set up the storyline from each episode, and discuss the classic moments and unique characters featured. In addition, every episode with be wrapped with exclusive character and scene-specific content from the first two seasons, including behind-the-scenes footage and sit-down interviews with the cast.

In the hour-long Talking Dead event, shot live in Los Angeles, Hardwick will give fans a first look at The Walking Dead Season 3, including a scene from the new season, and brand new video interviews with the cast, a tour of the new set and a sneak peek at the props and wardrobes featured in Season 3. Hardwick will also sit down with in-studio guests including the show's executive producers and other celebrity fans. Viewers will get information on the show's presence at this year's Comic-Con, including a look at the construction of The Walking Dead booth, updates on AMC's The Walking Dead Social Game, and other show-related news and topics.

Season 3 was filmed in Atlanta?! Well fuck, now the season has been spoiled for me.


I'll probably watch this marathon. Or the S2 episodes anyway. I've watched my S1 blu ray several times since the original airing. It's going to suck to have to sit through the Sophia bullshit again, but I will put up with it.
That black and white pilot sounds cool.

Man that would have been gut wrenching. Though I already liked that Rick sort of "tricked" Shane so he could stab him.

Eh, if I skipped every episode that had something dumb in it, I would have to skip every episode with Lori and Andrea doing anything in it and that wouldn't leave me with many to watch. I don't mind the first part too much. I will still get to see Daryll being a badass and Carl get shot.

And as for the B/W episode, it doesn't say list it as a special feature on the back of the case of my blu ray. I never watched the special features though, so I don't know for sure.

I don't know, maybe the new governor will be a great character, but he doesn't look menacing at all.

Morrisey is 15 x the actor those two are, looking just like the comic version has nothing to do with how he will act. Did Daryl look like his comic counterpart? OH WAIT

His look is important. Acting is obviously more important, but the look of the character is also important.

I agree that Trejo would've been awful though.

True. Trejo is a trash movies actor kind of guy.

I like the way he's dressed. I've never read the comics, so I wouldn't have anything to compare him to.

IIRC, filming Lincoln missing a hand is a huge pain in the ass. I think they said they have to think up something that can hurt Rick just as bad though. I'm guessing he loses an eye.

This thread reminds me why many people think comic book fans are fucking mental. They secured a decorated actor and you all want them to cast a make-up guy and a one dimensional ex gang-banger just because they resemble an artists drawings?

It's then being written off in advance? Some of you make entitled whining into an art form.

Comic Governor has a very particular and menacing look. It's part of the character. I'm not saying that Morrissey can't play a great Governor, but he just doesn't look like him. At all.

I don't really mind that he doesn't look like him, I just care about how he acts mostly. TBH I don't think a character that looks like the one in the comics can be pulled off on the show without coming off as cheesy.

I have no doubt that he's an amazing actor, and I don't mind that they changed his look from the comics, but he just doesn't look menacing at all with that clean-shaven face and pretty boy haircut.

Give him a scar and some facial hair or something to make him look more sinister at least.

Just watched Season 1 and then watched Season 2 back to back with my wife.

We were...hooked the entire time. SO. FUCKING. GOOD.

Loved Dale, but started getting on my nerves by the end. So long. Glad Shane is dead. Fuck Lori and co. for being mad at Rick. Darrel is a badass.
