What are the chances that nintendo cashes in on HD re-releases of HD GCN/Wii games?
Only a month until E3. I have an interesting question. Anyone think it's possible Wii U could operate without a TV needed, period?
I remember reading old Miyamoto interviews where he said he wanted to take games off the TV set and didn't want to be limited to that space. Of course it's going to connect to a TV, but I wonder if they have designed it in mind without it being a requirement? You turn it on and stream right to your tablet without a TV connected.

Sasha grey?SNES Grey?
Or that EA doesn't think it will sell on there. You must have missed the speculation that they were experimenting with using a stereoscopic visor.
As far as Crysis 3 is concerned. Crytek already said it wasn't coming. The only logical explanation I can think of is that they didn't receive dev kits in time or that they don't have the staffing to do it.
I am willing to bet there will be some games that won't be 100% playable on the controller only.

How well did Crysis even sell on the HD Twins? Fans of the series had an uproar when it was ported. EA obviously thinks Crysis could survive on consoles.

How do you know for sure if no Wii U hardware has been confirmed ?, also *if* it can run it then why is Crysis 3 not coming to Wii U from Nintendo's biggest major third party supporter from last E3 ?.
If i was Nintendo and i wanted to showcase both the power of the Wii U hardware over the PS360 and the new core focused strategy then i could think of no better game than Crysis 3 to show these points off with.
Crysis 3 isn't out until March / April 2013 and they have been working on Crysis 3 since just before E3 2011.
Something smells fishy to me and it doesn't fill me with hope for the power of the Wii U hardware.
I believe Crysis 2 was a million seller, for however much that's worth.
I imagine the numbers are going to be inherently lower for Crysis 3 because it won't be on Steam.
I take that as a good thing. Doze games will look guddd.Or that EA doesn't think it will sell on there.
Watching the 2006 E3 conference is slightly surreal. You can see all the signs for the Wii's fate. Mass market appeal, bad third party support, lack of gaming media enthusiasm. It's all there.
Oh and the small changes between then and launch including the new Zelda control scheme and the Mii graphics.
... I am convinced that a system's inaugural E3 sets a tone that is incredibly difficult to break free from.
So... I shouldn't buy a WiiU then?
Hmm.. not sure. We'll have to wait and see at E3. You should know by then!
Nah, Pachter already told us all it'll be a massive failure, and he's never wrong.

In case you haven't seen it, Nintendo's booth (4822) is located in West Hall. Microsoft (4100) and Sony (4522) are there as well, it appears changes have been made as they now only have one booth each instead of two (as reported on the PDF dated March). So, no Durango or Orbis, then? Nah, amount of booths/booth size shouldn't reflect what a company intends to show.
Activision, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Sega, Square Enix and Ubisoft, to name a few exhibitors, reside in South Hall.
Following the addition of the floor plans, we should begin to see a rather steady addition of exhibitors under the Wii U product categories. Capcom used to be on the list, so perhaps they will be readded.
You should go back and listen to some old podcasts from that era. Between November of last year and today, I have listened to over 400 episodes of Nintendo-centric podcasts (the pseudobanned site and two other Nintendo fansites' podcasts) starting in 2005 before the Wii arrived.
My findings? The predictions, concerns, bullshit developer comments, honest developer comments, gaming media treatment - it's all so incredibly consistent and obvious in retrospect. And more than ever, I am convinced that a system's inaugural E3 sets a tone that is incredibly difficult to break free from.
CryEngine 3 is already running on the Wii U. They've confirmed it. Homefront 2 is running on the same engine as Crysis 3, and will have a Wii U version.
Crytek Frankfurt already gave a reason for not doing a Wii U version of Crysis 3 - they say they don't have the resources to develop four versions of the game simultaneously. Crytek UK is the only part of the company that even has a dev kit.
what the... zynga has a closet... yet, gree has a huge booth... considering they have like three products in north america... o____O

I don't know.. wasn't the PS3's initial reveal pretty stellar..
It wasn't until the following year with the Giant Enemy crab and 599 that it became a joke

The PS3's inaugural E3 was in 2006. You're right - it was pretty good, except for the jokey headlines. (and while I'm at it: Sony does a pretty good sizzle reel, I think.)
I'm not counting mini-reveals like the Wii U's from last year.. I'm talkin' about the E3 right before a system launches.
No Sega Dreamcast? So this is from that banned site that you can Go to for Nintendo and stuff
So guys, what's your opinion (;
sounds about right. It's asking which console won not which toy won.So this is from that banned site that you can Go to for Nintendo and stuff

Hah, it was a bit long to be considered a "mini" reveal. But it was definitely more of a teaser than a blowout. A lot of the questions answered this time around will give us a concise idea of what Nintendo's game plan is. There are so many variables that will have to be unveiled then. Not just stuff like "which games does it have" and "how fast is it", but things like "Does Nintendo plan on early profitability", "what further actions is Nintendo taking to secure third parties", "What are the limits on the digital downloading ecosystem", all sort of stuff like that!
It's going to be slightly exciting.

God dammit. I just used a reaction gif, so I can't use another one.

I know what you mean. I don't really count the Wii U's reveal as a real one, seeing that very few launch games or details were shown. It was obviously more than a teaser though. I guess I like mini-reveal well enough. The PS3's inaugural E3 was in 2006. You're right - it was pretty good, except for the jokey headlines. So it seems Sony may not be televising their presser (not quite sure if the site confirms it)

I wonder if this whole G4 business will mean Nintendo's won't be televised either.
do they ever? I know spike always has MS conferences but I can't remember if they air the others. So it seems Sony may not be televising their presser (not quite sure if the site confirms it)

Huh? I dont think Joystiq knows what they are talking about. G4 always streams sony and Nintendo

Assuming G4 still exists by E3.
