I think people are just speaking to the notion that launching against GTAV will make a bad situation worse. Budget-conscious gamers will make a choice between the familiar GTA sequel everyone and their grandmother is playing, and the gamble that is this unknown IP. I can see some people who would've otherwise bought TW101 (Platinum fans) instead spending that month's game budget on GTAV.I love the people acting like this game is going to bomb just because it is launching against a new GTA. This game is going to bomb no matter what. I'm going to buy it and I hope it does great , but I don't expect it to. These type of games are very niche. Pikmin sales is likely the top this niche can do and I don't even see it doing that much.
Man, why is Nintendo releasing it to die with GTAV?
Isn't it obvious? Loads of people will be in stores to buy GTA5 then BAMM they see Wonderful101 boxart and they are like "Holy.Shit." So they buy that instead, along with a WiiU.
And Iwata lived happily ever after.
GTA week too.EU gets it on Aug 23, NA gets it almost a month later says it all.
Hmm, if this is part of Nintendo's strategy for this game -- riding the GTAV wave -- I hope they have TW101 demo kiosks in the store so people can try the game and see how fun it is once the box art catches their eye.Actually, thats a legitimate tactic employed by certain publishers and even movies, Sherlock Holmes rode the Avatar wave and the Cabela games have been famously mocked in the past for this.

It's made by the same guy (Hideki Kamiya of DMC/Viewtiful Joe/Okami/Bayonetta fame), but it's more like a beat-em-up where you lead an army of superheroes (and recruit more by magically transforming everyday citizens), and you combine them into your superpowers, I.E. a giant fist made of people when you have the red hero in charge, or a giant green pistol or crossbow that fires people for bullets when you have the green hero in charge, or a massive broadsword of chain-linked people when you have the blue hero in charge. And we can see on the box art that there are other heroes like the yellow guy with the hammer. You can also turn your army into a mass of pudding to bounce projectiles back at enemies, or to turn into a "Slinky" and dodge opponents. Other transformations include airplanes, ladders, bridges, etc. Really fast and hard-hitting combat, scurrying across rooftops, down a collapsing street, taking on one massive boss after another. Every battle is like a boss fight, in fact. The game has Bayonetta's dodge offset for continuing combos after dodging, too. Amazing stuff.Cool boxart, is this like a spiritual successor to Viewtiful Joe?

Sounds good, Kamiya always delivers. Enjoy it Wii U fans. I for one will partiently wait for my VJ HD remake or sequel.Capcom pls. ;_;

Ha, touché, touché!You mean the budget-conscious gamers that bought a new console with almost no games for $350 in the last six months?
Is that the 60fps version of the one I linked?I'm sure you meant THIS trailer

Not gonna lie, I was really surprised by the September release date. I was thinking July at least. I'm starting to suspect the game has not been living up to the expectations they had when first designing it?
September 25th will be a good day for me, but not for my wallet.
Wow, 60fps with that crisp, clean art direction makes for immaculate image quality. :OYeah and it is awesome
Also, I kind of want this on my avatar somehow now.
Whats the Nintendo Network logo for? Just miiverse stuff or DLC?

Or maybe they are improving/polishing it???
I'm glad it wasn't "rushed" out, take your time, Kamiya.
Whether it sells at all or not, a consistent bunch of high quality games is what the Wii U needs.
I know right. It's so crispy clean in motion.
I would so follow suit with you. Right in the lower left corner. Viewtiful Joe is the 1 in 101.
Here's something quick and dirty.

As for your avatar, you should pin the TW101 logo to the guy's shirt like a politician's flag pin.
I love you.

It has been rumoured to have multiplayer since the first reveal. We still don't know for sure though because Nintendo has been super hush hush on this game. We barely know anything still, which is kind of ridiculous. Granted, knowing it is an action game by Kamiya is all I personally need. This game is my system seller.

I made a thread about this once. It's truly, utterly bizarre. The multiplayer is plain to see for a good chunk of the very first trailer... and yet Nintendo has categorized this game as "single-player" and hasn't said -anything- about multiplayer this whole time. Was it in an early version of the game and then scrapped but they kept the footage and used it for the debut trailer anyways? Or is it still in there and, like Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, they're waiting until later (maybe E3) to reveal it in a bid for momentum leading up to release? I don't know. :-\It's not just rumored, you can clearly see it in the first trailer:

Although they haven't said anything confirming it.
Oh wow, is something like Neiteio for my avatar suggested doable? I'd love one like this too, my photoshop skills are pretty low!
Nice
It should be noted that we've seen multiplayer. Colour-coded teams of characters. But that was early on.
I think Nintendo really needs to step up their advertising for this game. Remember when it was first announced and people assumed it was crap?
The gameplay already looked fantastic.
Like the Wii U, people need to be informed of what the game is.
