The Zelda TP pre-launch NON-SPOILER thread (READ BEFORE YOU POSTTTT)

The more I hear about this game the more I wonder how big it actually is. Is it giagantic? Humongous? Inconcievably large? Overwhemingly so? God I hope so. I hope I turn it on, play for about 2 hours, and suddenly realize I'm a tiny little speck in this massive virtual world.

I almost wish this game could take my by suprise like RE4 did, but it seems unpossible the more hyped I get. I was never hyped at all for RE4.

As huge of a Resident Evil fan that I was, I was excited for Resident Evil4, but I didnt realize just how awesome it was untill, I had played it for about 2hours. It then hit me;

"Man, this game is ****ing unreal. Best Resident Evil ever." It then went to, "Man, this may be the best game I've played in the past 5years! Holy shit"

I hope this is how TP blows me away.

Yeah I wonder too. It's beginning to sound like the game is just massive.

quite a feat; just looking at the game informer exclusive of the game was better than playing most games at the time.

I am just soaking myself in all these Zelda impressions. Just knowing its coming soon and having people play it ease me up, its like confirmation that we are only weeks away.

As if there was any doubt, it sure sounds like this is the best game of all time.:D

What? I said no way it would be 100 hours. All I said that all previous Zelda games can be done in 20-30 hours even on first play, which is correct, and even if this was way longer, it'd only be 40-50 hours max since Nintendo's claims about time is always wrong.

Not that it matters, 20 hours or 50 hours I just want this game (though I hope it does end up 50 hours, even Okami came close to that so I expect as much!)

hmm I remember saying that it would probably be 40 hours and you even disagreed about that. No big deal though :P I dont remember the post it was quite long ago.

maybe i did say it (i don't remember) but that'd have to be a long time ago, 'cause i mean for a game that's bigger than Ocarina it'd make sense if you could finish it in 40 hours. that doesn't seem absurd

Amir0x wants TP Wii, he knows it

Damn, I just remembered something. Has Nintendo caught up with the ages and announced a limited edition of the game yet?

The regular edition seems to be the limited edition. No macrotransactions. No items missing. No downloadable subareas of Hyrule. Just the complete game.

I think I might just ask to be banned until the GC version comes out. :lol

Otherwise, I might not have the self-control to wait.
You can still read when you are banned =p

I must have that promo stand

*goes to gamestop of former employment

I don't believe ANYONE'S ****ing opinions on the Wii version. I'll have to play it for myself. I don't know if it's the sheer awesomeness of the Zelda a lot of us have waited eight years for clouding everyone's judgment, or that it's a launch game, since people go crazy over NEW THINGS.

Of course, it could really be that good. But like I said. I'll play it and see for myself.

I think you'll like it (atleast initially). I'll probably have some big, goofy smile on my face the first time I get some sword action with the Wiimote in Zelda.

Just an educated guess- the people who reserved it are going to get a gold edition, and the people who didn't wont.

Doesn't make sense to me why Nintendo would have reservations cut off otherwise.

the wait has been too long... half a console generation... two and a half years. there are enough differences between the two versions to make me get both, Nintendo you get my $350 for a Wii, Wii Zelda TP, GCN Zelda TP.

Yeah- just wait until those go up on eBay. Imagine the mad fanboy wanking that would go on to those auctions: I can see $500 easily.

Don't know if this has been posted already:
I'm very, very impressed with this game. The word 'epic' comes to mind, but it really does the adventure no justice. And there is no question in my mind that the Wii version is the one to get.

Matt

Does he mean that the word "epic" ain't good enough to describe the game ?

**** them if that's the case and they didn't announce it.

And I'd ask for an ip ban. :lol

Maybe to force everyone else to get the Wii version?

That limited edition, gold OOT disc went for a lot for a while....

it looks that way. I was a litte worried that Matt C wouldn't like it since he has expressed some concerns with the controls in the past, but it seems that the game REALLY made an impression on him.

The guys at my local GS said they could transfer my Zelda GC preorder to a Wii version if I wanted... but I want the GC version too. :(

The whole camping out thing better work out - if I don't get Zelda in exactly 18 days I'm going to be one angry man.

Well, I... um... sold my Wii & TP preorder on eBay for m4d ca$h
not really- just slightly irritated cash
, and I'm hoping hoping hoping hoping hoping hoping that, when I go to my local Target on that Sunday morning (show up an hour before open; it's not really a well-known or busy store, and aren't people going to be able to find a Wii on launch day if they really want to?), I'll be able to pick myself up one, along with a copy of TP. An extra $150 really isn't worth it if I have to wait to play.

Wal Mart is doing a midnight event, aren't they?

Although I might just use your Target idea, adg1034 - that's what I did for my GC.
