Its amusing to me that all these people who were only buying a ps4 for free drive club materialized out of the ether (where were you people when we were defending the game in 3 threads filled with Forza fans!!) . This game really looked to be a minor success at best (I was excited for it) and suddenly its the most anticipated launch title in the history or the world.
There are a lot of games available day one, resogun is just one of many.
Precisely. No one was basing their PS4 preorder on this game.
We've seen nothing even resembling a fully fledged game from Driveclub at this stage. It's a curiosity based on developer pedigree and I won't be in the slightest bit surprised nor bothered if it is delayed.

Well, these systems are not going anywhere thankfully. I do not believe this rumor, at all so its no big deal anyway. Sony is not talking because this is a pretty bad rumor from a pretty bad source. If they felt compelled to answer every single one of these types of rumors, well hell there would be 100 more just like it by next week.
Even if delayed, I still have plenty to play and plenty in early 2014. Def. won't be a Wii U situation.

I just cancelled my PS4 pre-order with Amazon
I just can't justify picking one up to play one game (Resogun) when I will have the XONE and at least 5 titles that I am desperate to play (Forza5, Killer Instinct, Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Crimson Dragon) and if I am doing that I may as well pick up BF4, COD and AC4 for the XONE as well.
I will probably now get one when Infamous drops next year.

With Driveclub delayed the only game I'll play on my new shiny PS4 is Killzone. Maybe Resogun but from what was shown it look less fun than Super Stardust HD. Great launch Sony, amazing.
And what about Driveclub were you sold on exactly? It looked to be a time trial game at this stage.

Bad rumour by a bad source that every online news site is picking up. And Sony have not responded to them. It doesn't take long to say a simple no. Hell they could just tweet it out .

Regardless to if it's delayed or not, I'll still be picking up the PS4.
If Knack ever went free for PS+, I'd probably cancel that pre-order and go with CoD Ghosts or maybe Injustice: GAU.

To be honest, if I was buying XONE with all these games, I would cancel PS4 even if DC made it to launch. I would probably not buy one for the next 2 years with all the games You planned to get.

Everything I can get for PC I'll play there. I was looking forward to Killzone, Resogun and DriveClub so If one of them gets delayed that's a huge blow.

Dude. Its one of 3 notable exclusives for the consoles launch. A launch that was already dry bones. If it is delayed it is no small delay if confirmed, no matter how you wanna spin it.

It's a bad news type of thing so that is to be expected. Some people will come out the woodwork and try to get their licks in while few will be affected. I don't even know what I'm going to play day 1 first as I will have a ton of stuff with PSN and retail.
Obviously it's not but anyone who knows how the trends work around here would see why this thread is blown up.
The only thing that would be nice is if we got confirmation. Unless this will just come and go and the game will come out for Plus members without a hitch.

That reminds me... according to the German PS-blog* we'll get a 50% discount on 12months of PS+ for buying DriveClub. Don't know if that's a worldwide offer. Could get messy.

I just got an email from Shopto detailing that Watchdogs was delayed and that I could pre-order a different launch title to arrive with my console if I wished.

Ah, fair enough then. I've done most third parties on PC myself this past year or so, but I'm console gamer at heart so personally looking forward to going pretty much console only again. Well, until the first sub-720p games arrive in a few years...
Retailers havent been informed about a delay yet. We have to wait for an official PR or at least an confirmation by a bigger retailer.

I do not want to put in a new game and be disappointed with bugs, unstable framerate, or lack of polish...esp a 1st party Sony game.
Also, Drive Club looks cool and I def want to play it, but like was said above - it's an unknown. People couldn't be THAT upset to not play something they have no idea is even any good.
Not like they pulled GRAN TURISMO 6 from the PS4 launch.

Not so bothered if this is true, was only getting the Plus trial version. May have upgraded that if it was good and the price was OK but I don't think it was ever going to be an essential title for me. Would rather it was there obviously but not that bothered.

Third parties aren't my cup of tea. With watchdogs delayed and drive Club out of the picture, I really really don't know what ill be playing on my ps4. Lets just pray knack ends up being good i guess. This last two days have been a massive hit to the launch lineup for me.

I was stating if Sony responded to this type of rumor, it would create 100 more rumors like this by sites in need of some hits.
It also shows these " other " online sites are in desperate need of hits too. A real " news " site would atleast attempt to use its own sources to get 2nd confirmations or something before even the " rumor " goes online.
Since when are rumors news anyway? When did this start to become acceptable? Rumors have always existed, but I do not remember them so often plastered up on front pages.
Launch of new consoles + we have so many "insiders" right now and Cboating led to some hilarious things in the industry.

What!? That's it, preorder cancelled.
I dunno...driveclub looks ok, but nothing is really grab-assingly next gen about it. Of course the dynamic lighting is nice, but GT has been doing that for a long time now. If they can polish it up to 60fps during the (still rumoured?) delay and clean up the IQ, then it would be something to talk about.
I don't think Forza5 is hot shit, either, but it looks polished (in all of its plastic glory).

Because they haven't got many options. Because it would definitely be great PR to off set this 'bad' news. Because I reckon Knack was probably the least preordered so they have less financially to lose.
I'm skeptical of that because Driveclub is essentially a f2p game on PS+, and there is no equivalent to replace it from Sony's perspective.
