It's completely true - they have some of the most active moderation on the internet with regards to scrubbing child porn (and cataloging IPs of those who post it), unlike Twitter and other sites where it sits in the open for weeks.

They do allow loli and shota shit, but that is completely legal in the US.

They are repeating it because the SJWs I mentioned created a board called /hebe/ and conspired with other SJWs to post risque (and pornographic) photos of post-pubescent children as a false flag during GamerGate. I had never heard of this site, I just visited it to see what all the fuss was about. Literally the first posts I saw where about white supremacy, homophobia and religious extremism... I find this whole "last bastion of freedom" description you make totally misses the point. By what I saw, the only way to describe this site is as an incubator for hate.

So they have the "freedom" of doing something they can't do elsewhere ? Having "freedom" doesn't mean that you use it for doing good things.

Which is exactly the point. The crazy mobs at ERA fail to realize that their middle age christian morality is worth nothing as long as no law is being violated. If I don't agree with the morality of a site, I just don't visit that site. Asking for it being removed from the internet and people being fired over this is what makes a cyberbullying thug.

Yes, it looks like THQ screwed up in the handling of all this matter BUT it is also true that at some point companies have to stand their ground and say NO to these cultists. That monster must not be fed. Ubisoft has learnt the lesson the hard way.

I know another site that would fit into that description even better. The thing is, imageboards are probably not for everyone. There is a lot of meta going on between the lines and a thread you might think is about white supremecy is actually just a troll thread to mock white supremecists. That does not mean there aren't any white supremecists on there, but banning them from the internet would not let them magically disappear. It's good to give them a platform for discussion I think. This way their mindset is out in the puplic, for everyone to see, instead of being locked away in some basement.

I visit imageboards for over 13 years now and I met some of the most intelligent and dedicated people on there. Not even gaf in it's prime comes close. I like the
"anonymity" of these boards and I like it if people can express their real feelings without holding back. I like a good an honest "fuck you" much more then a "well, that like your opinion man" answer.

He's not entirely wrong. Forums have been dead for years because corporations' astroturfing got its way and now you can't really complain about any game or movie or anything really unless it's "toxic" or a complete disaster (and even then not really, there's people who have the gall to defend Anthem). Anything different and you're out. Ironically the worst Neogaf has ever been was 2012-2017. A complete cesspit, and that was under the new and improved moderation guidelines.

8chan is on the extreme end of the spectrum but statistically, any place where total free speech is allowed tends to stray away from leftism, which only exists in a highly moderated space. That's why they did what they did to Sentenza, that's why they crave that lynch mob: it's all about striking fear, character assassination, whatever you wanna call it.
It'll be interesting to see the orange man goes through with the executive order for free speech and then moves to enforce it to silicon valley too.

Got a ban on Era for saying what I actually think: it was a stupid idea, THQ PR people made a mistake and that made them look stupid in the process... but that's pretty much it.
