TITANFALL 2 | Single Player Vision Dev Diary - Seriously, where's the hype on GAF?

I'm hyped, getting BF, TF and CoD....BF will be my go to with TF next up and CoD for the remaster

Played TF at EGX this year too and it was great

They probably need to let everyone know. They've got zero momentum right now.

They could fix that up with an EA access demo. Baffling that they aren't allowing it. It just makes people think there's more reason to be skeptical.

All the big Titanfall 1 youtubers got invited to a PC event and showcased all the changes, just see the frothyomen videos I posted above.

I'm still moderatly interested in TF2, but after the beta it went from a definite day 1 buy to "wait for word of mouth and see" category, at best. That being said, I'm even less interested in other big shooters coming up so I might actually grab TF2 anyway just to get my multiplayer FPS fix.

Can't wait.

Thanks! I'll link to our interview here or something. :)

Don't think I'm allowed to say much (or anything), but yeah. Keep an eye out for stuff.

Those who had complaints about the beta, check the most recent PC footage. Lots of small stuff changed. For classes, there's the one that phase shifts that looks way better than the hook.

Yeah the phase shift is cool af.

Make a thread!

It was shot down during the beta... Won't be getting it, but I wish them good luck since they are the same people who made my beloved MW1 & 2. Maybe in the future they'll make something even better.

So many that were disappointed in the beta.

If only Respawn took the criticism to heart and released a list of significant changes based on the feedback to fix the issues people had with it and make the game more like the original.

Oh wait...

Titanfall 2 is gonna be better than this. That's not hard.

Loved the first game, but tech test killed it for me as well.

- lots of downgrades from tf1
- feels like it's only a spiritual sequel to first game
- took a loooong time to confirm attrition
- no EA access demo is crazy, especially after the criticism

I understand the developers had to have their own vision for the game and be true to that, but just sad because it feels like we didn't get a true sequel to the first game.

Except they did? Movement speed is tuned up, Titan gains are tuned up. The maps are still an uncertainty though.

Out of all the major shooters releasing within this year, this is the only one that grabs my interest. I won't be getting it upon release, as I want to see what people think of it a couple months afterward. If it is received well and has a strong playerbase, then I'll definitely pick it up.

This is the one big AAA game this fall that I don't care for and have no interest in getting, the beta killed any excitement I had for the game, and it's just such a good season for FPS's that a mediocre one does really stand much of chance. I hope it turns out good and I think the single player has real potential but they have a uphill battle to win back some people, it's just too competitive of a season for someone to release a "good enough" shooter.

Day fucking one. Never cared about BF and was tired of world war stuff a decade ago, and don't care about CoD besides MWR whenever they decide to sell it separately. TF2 will be my only jam this year.

Hear, hear!

I'll pop back to Overwatch from time to time, but really looking forward to getting stuck into TF2. Never played the original, enjoyed the tech test, and just ready for some brobot action.

Well, CoD is releasing this Fall, is certainly AAA, and is also (based on my time with it) a pile of shit. There is no way in hell TF2 won't exceed the quality of CoD this year. Zero.

Eh. The multiplayer is not good IMO.

That said, the SP looks like it could be great, as does zombies.

Modern Warfare Remastered is amazing, and in a class of its own.

While it is a tactic, its not the best imo. Getting out and farming the bots for XP will always be the best option. You can camp the stations and be killed by someone banking and noticing you. So you just wasted potential time of getting money. Or you can get that kill on those trying to bank, but not get a whole lot of $ from doing so. I don't think the camping complaint is a mode breaker and honestly I didn't see a lot of it.

nah you're thinking of the bounty mode or whatever, amped hardpoint was the capture the zones where it took like an hour to "amp" a zone

edit: but yeah put me in the camp that thinks tf2 will be mediocre but still miles ahead of infinite warfare

Wasn't impressed with the Beta, if I want sci-fi CoD, I'll play infinite warfare.
If they have indeed changed it sufficiently to feel more like TF1 again, they should do a new beta and let people try.

Attrition, CTF and LTS are in, no need to give a shit about bounty hunt and amped hardpoint.

LTS gonna be least played. BH gonna be the new shit.

Really interested in how FFA gonna work.. hope it has AI vs. players. Pure Chaos.

Maybe theyll have the Variety game mode again.

so you're paying 60 dollars for a game almost a decade old and honestly think its going to hold up well today?

member berries really have taken hold of society.... trey parker and matt stone are always on the point.

Modern Warfare holds up absolutely fine. I still play it on PC to this day. It's COD at it's best.

Just because a game is 'old' doesn't mean it's gameplay is old and outdated.

Sure, but it's not like the game was a misunderstood masterpiece one off. There's multiple iterations out there to choose from. It's not going to offer you a vastly different experience than what you can find in a more recent COD.

it's about nostalgia

Well if you're a miserable old bastard like me you'll dislike basically a lot of the new stuff introduced as COD went on after 4. I'm personally not a fan of more killstreaks, lot more perks etc and prefer it all stripped back which is why I enjoyed COD2/MW1 the most. Though I loved the hell out of Black Ops' barebones mode (and enjoyed the maps). It's why out of the CODs whilst I still do enjoy the single player campaigns of the new games and even play the multiplayer for a bit I always go back to my old favourites.

Yes I am actually complaining about the new COD games having too much stuff in them :P I even disliked MW2 for this reason.

After playing the betas for the big three, Titanfall 2 seems like it will be the most fun of the bunch.

Battlefield formula is still the same which is alright but just doesnt get me going much anymore. COD has turned into a game I just dont really like I guess anymore, I have skipped a number of CODs here over the past few years and this beta didnt do much to bring me back.

We don't get hyped we stay hyped! I am pretty excited for this, I haven't played a lot of the first one but liked the beta and hope the horde mode comes to this one.

Party chat just last night, literally everyone bar 1 person jolted at the mention of TF2 releasing next week. It's like we forgot about it or something. Everyone had preordered or went and preordered during the chat. Looking forward to it, especially the campaign.

For TF3 I'd like a coop campaign, just putting it out there.

Damn you story trailers! I want to watch you but I must hold strong.

Makes sense to me. There's having more cool content that compliments the game and then there's just clutter. Clutter that makes it easy for the gameplay to trip over itself.
