All I care is that we actually see how it looks in an in-game demo, and one available to the presses, not some bullshot "demo" in the conference. I don't know how you guys think the graphics are going to be up to par but I've been too burned out on empty graphical promises at E3. Maybe the game will be revealed and maybe it will look great in its reveal trailer...but until I see gameplay I won't get hyped for this game.

Is it clear? Really? There's a possibility that the reason it's taken so long is because it's a game about forced stealth sections, barrel puzzles, and a deliberately simple AI escort companion. Maybe the reason it's been in development hell is because it just wasn't fun to play, despite looking gorgeous, and no amount of external help could make something truly enjoyable out of the original concept. Maybe the reason they've been so tight-lipped is because the team is hard at work on a completely different project that's gorgeous and fun, and they didn't want to announce TLG has been cancelled until they have something concrete to show from the new project as consolation.

See? It's easy to think up various "clear" answers. We just don't know, but will hopefully find out next week.

The vision behind The Last Guardian was fine. It was basically ICO on steroids. If they managed to make an amazing game out of the concept of Ico, this was going to be perfectly fine.

I know anyone can think up ''clear answers'', but his was more pausible.
I for one think that the project was too ambituos for the hardware.

Since the begging of times I've been a believer that the great Cat Bird will grace us with his game.
Ueda chan games have always given me the feels, feels that no other game have been able to replicate, I belong to this church and I believe that the signs are on the wall and that at this E3 will see news of this game.
This is my contribution and my offering to the Cat Bird, lets hold hand and wait for monday, nothing can't stop us now...

It's fair enough if his name doesn't mean that much to you, but to many of us it's a guarantee of the highest calibre of quality. That's what people are excited about and I'm honestly surprised that wasn't obvious to you. The trailers and bits of footage were great, of course, but the near decade of good faith and hype are a far greater testament to the extent that ICO and Shadow of the Colossus touched our hearts than anything to do with TLG footage.

I have been following every little bit of news about the last Guardian since it was announced. Here is everything I learned and have watched in videos. Please fill in the blanks or correct if not accurate. (forgive spelling errors)

-The game was announced at the end of Sonys press conference at e3 2009
- Later it was announced it would be released holiday 2011
- In april 2011, it was delayed to TBA
- 6 months later the Ueda and the lead producer(?) left Japan studio and Sony
- Ueda would stay on to work on the last guardian through contract
- I watched an interview with Ueda and he talked about making The Last Guardian and how he wants everything to be the best it can be when it comes to his games.
- Playstation 4 was announced for a release in 2013
- I feel Ueda and his team saw how fast PS4 was coming out and how much he could make this game better for the new system
- Im sure there were a lot of problems with this transistion but recently Ueda said everything was ironed out. Progess was being made.
- Yoshida and Adam boyes are asked about the last guardian form Geoff keighly. Yoshida says "it is very pretty". He played it...it was playable...great sign
- Last year IGN claimed that it was cancelled.
- Sony said no, it is not cancelled.
- Sony renews trademark and there is constant reasurrance that the game is till on track.

Now the question we all ask is why has it been in limbo for 6 years? The answer is very clear why.

Ueda and Sony knew that this game was being reworked and re-engineered to match the power and expectiation of Ueda and PS4. They did not want to show or even broadcast this game because they made that mistake in 2009. I feel that them saying we will show The last guadian "when it is ready" means they will show it when it will be near complete. As tough as it was not to see anything it was smart for them not too. As much as it pains me not to see a video, a picture , hell even Ueda describing anything new, it was for the best.

I feel that it will be released this year , spring 2016 or at worse Fall 2016.

ICO and shadow of the colossus are two of my favorite games of all time. I listen to the soundtracks of them all the time and even read the ICO book last summer (will read again). These games are very special to me because of there music, story, pacing, characters and art direction. You actually play the story rather than watching cinemas and pressing x or square in a quicktime event. I look forward to playing this game one day, and I cannot wait

You know it's so far one-sided that it's basically like being a stalker now. You wait outside their window just watching.

As I take a step back and let they hype settle, I don't particularly feel that much stronger that TLG will be at E3 than I do compared to other years.

We have a few cryptic hints from people like Shinobi and Kagari, that user who apparently works at Sony Japan stating something about a major bug, the user who claimed "good news for TLG fans." Then of course Verendus staking a bet on it which also doesn't inspire any confidence. Then there's the PSNation podcast guy who heard Cerny's team was helping finish the project - all well and good but nothing that makes me jump out of my seat and say OMG it'll be at E3, none of these do.

The Guardian journalist is the closest thing we have to a solid lead that it'll be at E3, and has clarified that his prediction is not based solely on his "ability to tell lies" but rather has some other source, staking his reputation on it. This is the best we have really.

Then there's the radio silence from Sony. This could go ether way in my eyes. I look at the points above and I ask myself; what would Sony actually have to respond to? A few cryptic hints - no, a rumor that Cerny is helping finish the project - no, reputable journalist claiming it'll be there - maybe. I think it's more that Sony hasn't said anything, where in the past regarding this game they've been communicative; of course raising speculation.

I do feel there has been way more smoke this year compared to years prior, and definitely feel the few leads have gained way more traction as well. The silence from Sony does indeed raise an eyebrow but I still don't feel safe going into crazy hype mode just yet.

Yeah, the tweets were there before, not anymore, He must be fed up with that question and TLG speculation every time E3 is approaching.
Some Journo will have him on camera eventually and will ask the question, no dodging when that time comes, I mean besides the usual "It's no cancelled and it's not ready to be shown just yet"

It's weird to think that one day, say about 2 or 3 years from now, a kid is gonna be at a games store and see a used copy of The Last Guardian selling for $10 and be like, "nah, I'm gonna put this down as a preorder on Call of Duty Black Ops 4."

The game is myth and legend here and now on GAF, but you know once it actually releases, then it is only a matter of time until somebody on this forum is gonna trade it in to Gamestop.

You are gonna be in that Gamestop, and you will see that copy, and then you will know that by actually being released, The Last Guardian is dead.
