Back when i was in college, a buddy was into the rave scene and he specifically argued that you should NOT go to a rave alone.

is it that much of a problem if you aren't taking drugs/alcohol?

I would totally go.

I've gone to shows alone before and I always have a blast. Talk with people in line, talk to people inside, have a drink or two and take off. I'm sure you'll have a great time with the right mindset.

can't speak to the 90s, but early 2000s raves didn't have tickets. they were just half a dozen cars driving round an empty quarry asking each other where the rave was.

On my way home with a McDonald's guys. I live to tell the tale. My mate got a bit mental after a few drinks, had to ditch him (no idea where he went to be honest!). No drugs were consumed but by the time I got in there was only a couple of hours left. End up dancing in the fray at the front. Good tunes, though I'm pretty positive some of it wasn't pure 90's. Was great though.

I live to shitpost another day!
