Home Video Essentials, a product of Rentrak Corporation, has released a preliminary list of the top renting videogames for the week ending June 27, 2004.
Here are the top 10:
1. DRIV3R—PS2
2. Red Dead Revolver—PS2
3. DRIV3R—Xbox
4. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow—PS2
5. Shadow Ops: Red Mercury—Xbox
6. NBA Ballers—PS2
7. Need for Speed: Underground—PS2
8. Red Dead Revolver—Xbox
9. Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay—Xbox
10. Hitman: Contracts—PS2

Atari’s DRIV3R took two of the top three spots this week, with the PlayStation 2 version earning an estimated $412,459 in weekly rental income, and the Xbox product bringing in about $252,107 more. Atari’s Shadow Ops: Red Mercury also debuted in the top 10, taking in approximately $201,061 in rental turns from its number five position.
