- XiJaro did a great megamix
- Nice semi-classics mix from Darren McNally
- Boom Jinx is always good
- Lange 3 hour mix was great
- Markus Schulz was great as always
- Tucandeo, Basil O'Glue and Mr. Pit did a great little mini Coldharbour Day
- Nifra 3 hour prog set with tracks from 2006-07 was superb
- Binary Finary had a lot of exclusives and some nice new tracks
- Signum is always good value
- Indecent Noise did an awesome harder 2 hour megamix
- Ben Nicky's 3 hour set was phenomenal
- Bryan Kearney had a nice 1 hour megamix
- Sneijder had a nice harder set

As promised on GDJB, a little bonus treat for you all. Taking you back to Winter Music Conference in MIami, where I performed an open to close set at one of my spiritual homes - the legendary rooftop Terrace at Club Space in Miami.

I was due to finish at 6am but was told to keep on going, and from that point onward I just played off the vibe that the Terrace is trademark for, and all the hardcore fans who remained to get down and twisted. I don't get to do these kind of sets often but this is a taster of how things go deep into the night and the next morning.

Carte Blanche (Veracocha) is still the best trance song ever

and hearing Ferry Corsten finish off his set with it the one time I saw him made my night.

While not 100% trance-ish, it's shaping up to be a good Canada Day long weekend here in Vancouver with Gareth Emery on Friday, Myon and Shane 54 on Saturday, and Eric Prydz on Sunday... any Vancouver trance fans going to any of these? I have to miss Prydz but hitting the other two.

Also looking forward to Norin & Rad with Jaytech, Audien with Max Graham, and Maor Levi coming soon.

I love progressive trance that's kind of lounge/deep. Sooooooo good.

That's not trance, that's progressive house. Tonnes of it around, maybe check out the DI.FM channel or just look through the Beatport Progressive House charts.

Also Armin's ASOT 600 Warm-up set releases are chock full of prog house, lounge and deeper stuff.

By far my favorite trance podcasts are international departures and group therapy. They keep me abreast of things, though ID can get a little repetitive. ASOT just doesn't do it as much for me anymore. I used to love it alot, but now its just something I check to make sure Im not missing new stuff.

Is there a consensus favorite in the thread? I don't get in the thread so I was wondering. Schulz has been on fire lately, with his last few cd outings.

I like Otographic Arts. Its a live set mixed by two Japanese DJ's. Its a bit harder to find, however, given that its less popular than ASOT, Group Therapy, and so forth.

I used to listen to ASOT, GDJB, TATW and Magic Island every single week.

After a couple of years I stopped with TATW as it became a bit too trousy and repetitive. So many times you would the latest Anjunabeats single get picked for Track of the Week and straight away become Web Vote Winner and then just get replayed a further 4 times.

Group Therapy is just TATW with a new coat of paint and even more trouse and poppy stuff. Most of the time if there is a truly great new Anjuna single it will get played on ASOT or GDJB.

Magic Island went a bit too vocally and poppy for me for a while, but every now and then I check it out and find a good instrumental heavy episode.

I still get ASOT every week and tune in to the big live events and parties, but sometimes I'll get a few tracks in, check the TL and then either skip to the last 30 minutes or just move on to GDJB.

GDJB however, has remained my favourite throughout the years. Love the Coldharbour sound. Markus did lose his way somewhat last year, going a bit too mainstream with not enough dark, techy stuff, but he's back to great form now. Plus with him uploading extra studio mixes, live sets and ASOS sets, there's always plenty to keep you going.

In place of TATW and MI I've added KEARNAGE and Radio Bosh as I've really gotten in to the harder trance and techno stuff over the past year or so. Although they're only monthly shows, Kearney and Indecent Noise upload sets to Soundcloud regularly so there's always plenty of new mixes to listen to.
