Transformers War for Cybertron Multiplayer Demo on XBLM Now

I jus treally hope the full game multi has some good variety in the maps and stuff...

edit: also really hoping there's a bit of customization for your multiplayer characters -- as in, visual customization.. everyone looking the same would be boring
 
Yeah, it's not like this game requires so much training to actually aim and kill people - mostly just for getting to know the controls.

Any soldier now can equip the mini-gun and just mow people down, shoot rockets, etc.

OH, WOW!

I really wasn't expecting it to be this good :lol Everything feels really tight, and well polished. Nearly no slowdown, looks really good to boot. I was really getting my ass handed to me at the beginning, controls were a little weird at first but once I wrapped my head around transforming and all that gravy it was just slick. I really gotta make sure I copy the movie's soundtrack to my 360 and it'll be great

All the games I played I got matched as a decepticon, can't say if the cars handle differently.

I think my inner child just had an orgasm.
 
Would love to try this but 360 has been broken for a while now.

Exclusive demos ftl. At least put it on PC too :( Microsoft should at least have the courtesy to scrap GFWL if they aren't actually going to give a fuck about it.

I agree. I'm getting this for the PS3 and assume I won't be able to play my music on it like I can on the 360. Sucks.
 
Had a fun couple of matches last night. The graphics are good and the audio is good enough for me. But I'll probably not buy this game since my backlog hasn't shrunk at all.

And really, it is any surprise XBL got this demo? MS engineered XBL so that devs/pubs could easily put online-enabled content on there with little cost to them (devs/pubs).
 
I'm getting tired of being matched up with a team that always has one dude who insists on doing nothing more than shotting the decepticon logos in tank mode.

This is pretty fun, although my matches were pretty laggy. I also have no clue what all these attacks are or what I'm doing in general. But it controls well and few things beat zooming off a ramp, transforming in mid-air, and shooting dudes with some kind of particle cannon. Day 1 probably.

Just out of curiosity, in the matchmaking did you set the filter to regional?
 
I quite enjoyed playing this today, feels quite balanced. I'd say the whirlwind attack is overpowered but you have plenty of time to get out of the way as either class (either by boosting or hovering).

The shooting feels pretty solid after playing RDR. I'm liking the characteristics of the weapons, perks etc..
 
This was alright! Only played one TDM match but it was pretty good, surprisingly. Definitely above average anyway. Will play more.

Give conquest a shot. I liked TDM but conquest in this game just works fantastically. I normally don't even like that game type since it usually just feels like I'm just walking from one point to the next and back again, but with the vehicle modes it really helps with the pacing as you can just transform roll out and be where you need to be almost instantly. :D

is it known yet whether there will be appearance customization in full game multiplayer? everyone looking identical, the same 4 bots, would be a bit irritating for me.

Better to track down the double cd edition they used to sell at Botcon. The movie was wall to wall music and the botcon double cd has all of it. Including the rejected music they used the vocal songs in place of. Good stuff. :D

This. I played two rounds of TDM last night, but it was nowhere as exciting as Conquest mode. Capturing a territory, than driving/boosting off to the next zone while fighting the enemy was great. Also, I was lagging like crazy on TDM while not lagging in Conquest.
 
Only thing I'm not a fan of so far is the Scout's weapon options. I'm really kind of amazed they don't have a more traditional "pew pew pew" type gun as an option. I find myself constantly hoping a Soldier will get blown up so that I can pick up their standard rifle (or whatever it is) to use.

I was hoping that the final game would have a bigger selection of default weapons to pick from, but from that video above, doesn't look like it. Hope I'm wrong about that, though.

Also hope male/female robots are an option for making your character, especially since there are female robots in the game. Not nearly as big of a deal to me as games where you play as humans, but any game that allows for character customization should always present that choice with no exception.

there may be more weapon choices in your customization in the full game, that said, if you want assault rifles be a soldier. :) scout having a shotgun and a sniper at the exclusion of a general purpose assault rifle makes sense to me.

See, I guess it totally doesn't make sense to me. I would expect somebody like a Scout to have a handgun-type weapon, something that can fire faster yet less powerful shots. I don't know, Scouts having a shotgun just seems completely foreign to me.

Being faster, weaker, and more fragile, you'd think they wouldn't want to get up in your face in order to have their gun be useful. But maybe that was the point - give them a weapon where they can't play keep-away forever.

They're glass cannons. The shotgun the scouts get is good but you have to be up close in the shit with people who can take damage than you and give out a lot more(Whirlwind:lol).
 
I played the demo last night for at least an hour and a half while I listened to a podcast. It was fun and I really enjoyed myself but I'm concerned about the game's visual design. It's often difficult to differentiate players from the environment and some things like the melée attacks are a bit clunky. Just a rent for me.

I really like the Scout's weapons. Cloak is great for lining up some good sniping shots as well as sneaking up on people with the shotgun. The neutron pistol is a strong mid-range weapon too, but is a bit harder to use than the Soldier's AR. Plasma cannon I haven't found much use yet - maybe for other game modes.

Plus they're quick so it's easy to get in close. Giving them an AR would conflict with the playstyle I guess the Devs wanted, as you already said.

The Soldier is nuts though with rockets, super shotgun, minigun and an all-purpose AR.
 
Wow is this game visually dark, I could barely tell the difference from my team mates, and the opponents as well as the environment. I got rocked because I couldn't even tell.

Once you learn how to use the dash, then CQC isn't really a problem since dash recharges so fast. I was so frustrated that people kept owning me with whirlwind until I realized I have dash.

If it'll have in game soundtrack streaming like Killzone 2 and Red Dead Redemption, you'll be fine.

EDIT: If you cant tell the enemies from the environment, you might want to adjust your TV settings or in game settings. Every transformer has a certain glow to it...not to mention enemies have red names above their head.
 
You dont have to be that close with the scout shotgun. Its fully auto and has a decent range.

EDIT: If you've ever played Virtual On or Zone of Enders, you should feel at home with the dash command.

I didn't set it to anything, at least not intentionally. I believe, though I can't remember clearly, that it first went to regional, couldn't find anything, then maybe went to worldwide for at least one of the matches. I was playing at about midnight EST and only about 4k people were on so it may have been forced to match me with people far away.

This. I wasn't going to buy anything this summer but now I'm not so sure.

Last round of TDM, I had a 13 kill streak with the scout with 1 death. You can bet we won that game :lol

Definitly will be picking it up. Though I do think they made the Melee far to strong, at least Whirlwind, or at the very least it lasts way longer then I feel it should.

In all fairness though, you can boost and fire as a scout, or hover and fire as a soldier :P

True, and it may simply be because I am not a shooter player, specially not Multiplayer and am playing it because of the trappings. I just seems that they last for a good amount of time, and at least to me longer then they should.

Though after I improve a bit and get more use to this type of play I may change my mind about it.
 
Ok the game is great, BUT THE NETCODE IS FUCKING TRASH OMG!!

Fucking terrible. "Disconected from host" over and over and over and fucking over. Random desynchs in the game with the little white network icon with a red cross on it. Just fucking lame.

Today I was on a 12 killstreak and I got disconected. I raged hard. Completely retarted. Fix this shit high moon seriously ffs.

I attempted to join a Conquest game about 4 times in a row and got an error that I couldn't establish a connection. Doesn't seem to be a problem in TDM though - I seem to only lag in Conquest .. maybe because it is less players?
 
Damn, after going all the way to best buy and being conned into buying some very delightful knock off cologne, I went to reserve it for jazz only to find out my best buy is so small that I can't reserve it instore =/ Bullshit considering they even have ADVERTISEMENTS saying to preorder it.

Hopefully reserving it online with in store pick up will net me the code =/
