I said it before when the spoilers came out, if Santino wins the Elimination Chamber, I won't post in WrassleGaf till after Mania.

I pray Bryan tears through them all Sunday or Del Rio attacks Santino before the match, wins the WHC, and goes on to face Sheamus in Miami.

You know what you guys, I love the Elimination Chamber.
I don't particularly like the PPV and I don't think any of the Chamber matches are classic, but I love the goofy video gamesque nature of the whole premise. It's kind of like the Royal Rumble in that it's not as random or chaotic as they make it out to be, but I buy it.

I think Santino is a good choice considering what's on the roster. They needed another over face and Santino is pretty much it despite being killed every week. It's a damn shame that the roster is so thin. Santino is entertaining and it's interesting seeing him in a ppv title match, but he shouldn't be there.

Yeah, I like Santino. His best run was his last IC title run, where he was funny and a decent threat. I'd be happy with that Santino back.

Santino is getting that Tyler Reks 1 ppv push. Raw and Smackdown should be insane next week. All the build to Wrestlemania will be starting.

Santino is a horrible choice from a 'legit competition' standpoint but he can probably get pretty inventive with his alright-brand of comedy and the pods. So it's not a total loss.

Or just generic insanity?

It will be Triple INSANITY!!!!!!!!

As much of a non-credible joke Santino has been treated as in his WWE tenure, this isn't quite as bad as many of the other inane comedy acts that we've seen elevated in odd fashion with little build.

For two big reasons...

1) Santino is over with the fans. That arena erupted when he took out Otunga like he'd just won the title. In the era of anemic crowd response where people pay to sit on their hands and let their kids run wild while wearing Cena merchandise, being able to generate emotion from the fans is a valuable commodity.

2) Santino can wrestle. I know it's hard to overlook the endless string of losses, the ridiculous cobra, the retarded trombone celebrations or the fact that he deliberately goes out of his way to look like a goof... but Anthony Carelli can wrestle. He can sell offense. He doesn't blow spots. He can cut a promo. He has the technical background to be perceived as a legit threat in the ring should he be allowed to fully tap into his amateur wrestling, MMA, judo skill set.

I'm not saying he should win the title on Sunday and go on to main event WrestleMania against Sheamus, Bryan or someone else. But you know what... he's been in the big leagues for close to 5 years now, he's in the prime of his career and if he's able to take this opportunity and run with it then good for him. Crazier things have happened.

He isn't a terrible choice when you consider literally nobody else is over. I dunno how Santino still gets crazy pops when he hasn't done anything substantial in ages.

Still, the long and short of it is they took out two credible threats in Mark Henry and Orton and replaced them with Khali and Santino. Just shows how thin the rosters are at the moment. I guess they want Orton and Henry to heal up proper before WM.

Why did they not put Sheamus in the Chamber, btw? I know he won the Rumble and he wouldn't have won the Chamber, but could have been a legitimate threat wild card.

Is there any info on the backstage stuff that led to Bryan getting a decent WHC reign? He's not the prototypical WWE main eventer, so it seems like someone would have to be behind him pretty strongly.

No idea.

He was originally the Money in the Bank winner, who claimed he was going to cash in at Wrestlemania, and the writers were starting to slowly build that plot, but Vince up and decided one day that Bryan was going to cash in and that's how he became champion. My guess is that his slightly extended reign has something to do with the fact that he's performed well as champion, combined with the fact that both Mark Henry and Randy Orton have been fighting injuries over the last couple months. Unfortunately, I don't expect him to have the title belt past Wrestlemania.

Not if Bischoff and Hogan have any say in the matter.

Well yeah, if the rumors are true and they snake Dixie out of her deal with Spike to start a promotion in their timeslot than they won't make it past this year. Or Spike might just say fuck it and buy TNA from Dixie and have Hogan and Bischoff run it. Bischoff with big money marks behind him can be a great thing or a bad thing as evidenced by WCW. Viacom wants to own the company though like they do with Bellator, so something big will go down in the fall.

As much as I shit on TNA, I seriously hope this does not happen. There's too much talent that'll go to waste...even further.

That was in 2008. :lol

He's another guy who should be dropped that character, but it ain't going to happen.

Be a bit more bold.

If Santino eliminates Barrett or Cody, for example. Now that would be pathetically embarrassing as a fan.

GOD look how gross sheamus looks, like a fucking ghost. that's the palest skin i've ever seen in my life. Everything about this guy makes me angry and grossed out. Horrible in the ring, horrible look, horrible gimmick, horrible entrance music.

Edit: damnit this post deserved to be on the new page
