Trump Finally Surpasses Clinton In National Poll

Well, the good thing of the US economy going down the drain with Trumps election is that my national currency matches up better and I can get my D&D books cheaper.
The bad thing is that Trump will probably try to invade Mexico or something.

Are we talking about a game of Civilization or something because Trump isn't going to get elected

Until Bernie bows out, a chunk of potential Hilary votes might be missing from such polls as younger/ independent voters in their mind (hopefully Bernie helps bring them on board) would rather not vote than vote Clinton.

When the reality of a possible Trump presidency sets in, Hilary's numbers will surge imo. I heard yesterday that Hispanic registration in AZ, of all things, was increasing and through the roof.
AZ, GA and (later down the line) TX are ticking time bombs for the GOP because of minority voting power. It increases every four years.

And the worst part for the Republicans? Once those states are tossups, NC, VA, FL, CO and NV will range from leaning to safe Dem states. Their ONLY chance at offsetting this is if they do start doing well enough in the Midwest to swing states like Ohio, Iowa and Wisconsin and make MN, PA and MI tossups. But even then, that only cancels out those South/West gains for the Dems. The GOP is right back where they started - scrambling to achieve even 200 electoral votes.

Pending some dramatic shift in the party's policies, I think they're going to be locked out of the White House for quite some time.

If Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Minnesota (lol) ever went red, but North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, and Georgia went blue... Democrats would still be up by 24 electoral votes.

The more scared people are the more likely they will go to the polls to vote against Trump so I don't mind this.

I'm not so sure about that. There were still many Nate Silver diehards guffawing at the panic.
I was in disbelief that it was happening, but apparently predicted it in August 2015.

I also was ecstatic about him winning the nomination because I don't think he has much of a chance in the general election. Frankly I don't consider him much worse than any other Republican candidate, so if he gives Hillary her best chance at winning then pleaseproceed.gif

Are we doing it GAF? Is America on it's way to being great again? :')
America won't be great by breaking up families.

America will not be great banning millions of people of a particular faith from traveling and coming here.

America will not be great with torture methods worse than waterboarding.

America will certainly not be great with a nonsensical tax and economic plan with little on the way of specifics.

Most of all, America will not be great with a racist candidate who fans the flames of hatred even more and encourages violence among his supporters.

Bravo, nice post.

He is a joke. Period. People taking him seriously has issues, sorry. That is how I feel.

Heard today Trump wants to do something with minimum wage, when not to long ago he said no he wouldn't.

This man so needs Bernie supporters, its obvious. Hope he doesn't get to many of them.

Poligaf isn't one entity unless they're correct, apparently.

to be more clear, 22 out of 65 entities called it and most of the remaining 43 didn't turn around and come up with every excuse possible for why the polls were wrong, which I can guarantee is a better batting average than OT and punditry combined

What pisses me off about me assuming that Republicans would get their house in order, is that I couldn't think any less of them yet I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. They let a TV star with no political experience waltz in and shit all over their process.

He seems like the perfect mascot for 'merica. I hope he wins for comedic purposes.

Comedic purposes? I was laughing before, I've definitely stopped since. I don't have the ability to look into a potentially devastating turn of events for my country and chortle.

I'm being a tad dramatic, but I'm very surprised the damage I think he could cause is secondary to how funny you think it would be. Funny how?

Right... let's hope Trump wins "for the lulz". Who cares how badly he could screw the USA, or heck, other countries as well? At least we'll laugh at him on the internet and an infinite number of memes will be born right?

To some people out there, this isn't sarcasm.

Yeah, it's going to be really comedic when he drags your country into another war, likely leading to the death of more American and British soldiers.

HHAHA TEH LULZZZ

Jeez lighten up guys, I'm only playing. I don't give a toss who get's elected, either in your country or my own. It's all a rigged game anyway with very little change, no matter who gets elected.

Plus the American economy runs on guns, war and oil. There's a high chance of future war if you elected Trump, Hilary Clinton or Ronald Mcdonald.

Look out for your own families and forget the rest, because you will be gone before you know it. Oh and have a laugh in the meantime. That's my motto.

Insightful.

Between Trump and Clinton, I honestly don't know who would win. Most people I know hate Trump, but all of them except one (my grandma) hate Hillary even more. I know several blue collar Democrats moving to Trump/Republican with Clinton as the nominee. They were more Joe Biden/Howard Deen type Democrats and for some reason don't like Hillary. So I'm thinking Michigan might go for Trump, but on the other hand there are many people around my specific area that are not happy with either and might stay home.

Either way, this is going to be an election for the history books.

It's this line of thinking that will see him to the White House.

He is the Rupublican Candidate and the early polls are close. There is a chance.

This can't be stated enough. The time for "no way this is happening" has come and gone. What will it take for people to take this guys chances seriously already? As of now the republican slate is clean for him while on the dem side they're still fighting it out. This isn't an Onion news article anymore.

the court case against trump university has a much higher chance of making a difference in the election than the email investigation

Today the hacker 'Guccifer' said that he got into Hillary's server, could be bullshit but what's not is that the FBI investigation has had an ongoing effect on Clinton's numbers. But I agree that these cases can torpedo either campaign, and it's really Hillary's presidency to lose.

So there's no difference between republicans who want to bomb the fuck out of Iran and start another war, and democrats who's policy is to improve relations and put diplomacy first? There's no difference between republicans who want to put troops on the ground in Iraq and Syria to be shot at by ISIS, and democrats who want to continue the (slow but successful) campaign to bomb them from the air?

These decisions may not impact you personally, but they're still important as they end up impacting a lot of people worldwide. I have a personal stake in it as my girlfriend, whose Muslim, lives in Indonesia and would not be allowed to enter the US if Trump's proposed muslim ban were to pass. That piece of shit would essentially destroy our long-term plans and possibly the relationship we've built over the last 2.5 years. So the idea of Trump being president and the consequences that could result for me and millions of other people doesn't exactly incite laughter. At least not for those of us who are in tune with what's going on in the world.

The polls are not close.

I agree that complacency is something we should be weary of. But if likely voter polls suggest a close race, that shouldn't be an issue. The media is going to portray it as a close race no matter what.

I don't get the excitement over people being wrong about Donald winning the nom.

Yeah yeah, so a few people thought the Republicans wouldnt let a hateful, racist, loudmouthed know-nothing torpedo their party. Can you blame them? That the right couldn't find their way out of the situation is beneficial for liberals in the end; but I don't really fault people for thinking that the conservative party was at least a LITTLE competent.

I mean, I think people take him seriously. He would lose to Bernie OR Clinton by every metric except the joke that is Rasmussen (I cannot believe people are falling for those guys tricks twice.... No excuse the second time people).

We are going to go out and vote, and Hillary will decimate him. Don't confuse us thinking he is a joke of a person, with not taking the issue seriously. Im dead ass serious about keeping him away from the Oval Office, trust and believe.

Here's his first 100 day agenda, per the New York Times:

Yes, that last item sticks out: "a Scalia-like nominee."

Electing Trump would kneecap progressivism for at least a few decades. We could elect another Bernie in 2020, 2024, etc, and his agenda would be judicially fucked.

The biggest counter to this reality check? Hillary somehow won't appoint solid liberals. (Nevermind that even Bill "the embodiment of all that's wrong with Democrats" Clinton somehow managed to do so in the early 90s)

Thankfully, the vast, vast majority of Bernie supporters are sane enough to not buy such a silly line.

A bad president is 4-8 years. A bad supreme court nominee lasts a lifetime. That's what gives us garbage like citizens united that puts all the politicians in the rich men's pockets.
