The Walking Dead - Gave up half an episode into the 4th season

Vikings - Gave up half way into the first episode

House of Cards - Gave up on the second season about 3 episodes in. Just doesn't feel the same as season 1 for some reason and it does seem cheap. I might get back to it though

Sons of Anarchy - No good reason I stopped watching this show during the middle of last season, just haven't had any desire to watch it. I need to get caught up.

Sons of Anarchy. After that really good season a couple of years ago where things looked to go in a whole new direction, only to completely revert back to normal in the finale killed my interest.

House of Cards, too early to tell but after watching the first episode of S2 I have no desire to continue.

Fringe. Fell out of sync with the show due to the odd scheduling and just sort of gave up on it. Might check it out down the road but it went so many different directions I had kind of checked out anyways.

After mostly enjoying the first and second season of American Horror Story, this latest season sort of floored me in its crappiness. I realize the show has always been a little crappy, but it's never gone nowhere faster than in the third season.

I'm also kind of cooling off on Sons of Anarchy, but it's only this most recent season that turned me off so I might as well stick with it through it's final season.

The Mentalist - The end of season 3 really felt to me like thats a great end to the show, so I left it there.

Supernatural - Exactly the same as above.

Heroes - Wow, I can't believe I made it through to about half way through season 3.

The Event - Got to episode 12. Great premise with terrible execution.

Sons of Anarchy: characters seem stuck in samey trends; creator likes do things for shock value too much; characters have all become despicable/unlikable
Boardwalk Empire: waay too fucking slow. Put up with it for the first couple seasons but this past season turned me off. Pacing is like a thing guys.
Community: tired of its schick
Castle: I can only take a procedural formula so long. Love the characters but the plot of the week is not interesting anymore
Walking Dead: was a bad show from the second episode on. Kept watching because I liked the comics but just couldn't take it anymore
Lost: gave up at the end of the second season when I realized this was just going to be one of those shows that raises all these questions and leaves them and the mysteries all unsolved in the end. I was right
Sherlock: absolutely quality. Just didn't click with me. Wish it did.
Homeland: season 2 was shit. Carrie+Brody romance was cringe worthy.

The Shield - I was marathoning it a few months back until mid-season 4 when I decided to just jump to the very last episode and end it.
What the fuck. Way to defuse the greatest finale in television history by stripping it of all its build-up and context. Nonsensically I'm actually mad at you right now for depriving yourself of that. I'm mad at you for you. How ridiculous is that?

Dexter after 4. Which is odd since that supposedly the good one. No it was fucking awful just like the rest of them.

oh and prison break. Production values too low for me..

stopped season 2 house of cards. Don't know if I can finish it. Loved season 1

The Walking Dead - Not long after the whole Governor introduction, and even then it was becoming more and more of a chore to watch the show. Run, defend, someone dies, defense fails, run defend, rinse, repeat, I didn't about anyone on that show anymore. I feel like this one is the biggest loss, it started off so strong. So wonderfully strong.

Wilfred - It was cute in the beginning, then it started getting a little repetitive, and then boring after the completely obvious giveaway that yeah, he's nuts.

Being Human (US) is REALLY close, but it's also the last season. So I'll just stick it through. The show just isn't going anywhere.

24's final season. I stopped after about 2 episodes because I sensed the same paint-by-numbers of the last couple of seasons. I've been told that this is a completely understandable reaction, but later on it was completely redeemed. I'll catch it on Netflix in time for the new season coming up in May.

Heroes - In the middle of season 3. Pretty self explanatory for anyone who watched it.

Revolution - After a few episodes I just couldn't stand that whiney charlie girl.

Under the Dome - Just didn't end up liking it much.

Mentalist - For same reasons as OP.

Game of Thrones - I wanted to read the books before watching the show but then I couldn't really be motivated to do it.

A bunch of others. I like TV but I've been extremely spoiled and end up ditching shows that make me feel dumb for watching them.

The Walking Dead. I went from frothing from the mouth every Sunday in anticipation for a new episode, to not giving one shit when the current season came back from hiatus. The characters are stupid, the circumstances they get caught in are stupid, the show is stupid.

Heroes - In the middle of season 3. Pretty self explanatory for anyone who watched it.

Yeah. I enjoyed Season 1, for all its faults. Stuck around with Season 2 to see what happened (will always remember how Peter left his girlfriend in a universe that ceased to exist soon after.) I think I saw.. one or two episodes of Season 3 before I totally lost interest.

Game of Thrones - I wanted to read the books before watching the show but then I couldn't really be motivated to do it.

Whoa.. so you haven't even started the show? Forget the books, come back to those if you feel inspired by the show! Just start watching!

Breaking Bad. I don't know why. I just couldn't do it after a couple seasons.

Wanna know something weird?

I loved the first two seasons.

Then somewhere, about... four episodes into Season Three?

I just stopped.

It wasn't like there was an episode I disliked or anything. When it came time to watching the next episode, I just... didn't.

Cue some youtube clips of important moments (collected randomly over a couple years of internet exploration,) and soon I'm watching the episodes from Ozymandias on. Still felt satisfied at the end.

So yeah, Breaking Bad's really cool.

The Following: I tried the first two episodes this season but they were even worse than the first season. The episodes piled up in my DVR, so I decided to make a clean break.

Agents of SHIELD: I watched the first episode and hated it. I fell behind after that. Had the next four episodes recorded and started watching. Ten minutes into episode three I realized I hated every single person on the show. Deleted everything and I'm out.

24: I really loved this show, but then I lost all interest in it. I guess the story just became too convoluted and ridiculous for me to take. I started watching during season 4 and bailed after season 6.

The Walking Dead: This one is in limbo right now, with three unwatched episodes. The first half of season four ended on such a high note, but 4B's debut was horrible. I think I'll end up deleting everything and never watching the show again.

Ah, Walking Dead. Definitely dropped that one. My gut instincts told me to bail before Season 1 even ended.

Hearing all the reactions now... sounds like a TON of people watch it sort of begrudgingly, like they're just forced to watch it now out of... some weird sense of duty or something. Pretty happy I got out before I became a zombie :)

Community - 3 episodes into season 4. What trash.

The Office (US) - Dropped after Michael left. Watched the finale, though.

Kill la Kill - Non existent pacing. Dropped after episode 21.

Once Upon a Time - Went from bad but interesting in season 1, to really bad in season 2, to eventually giving up on it at the cliff hanger.

There was a twist this season that made me come really close to dropping it.

Agents of Shield after about six episodes. Just too fucking dull and awful wooden acting.

Hemlock Grove after two episodes. I don't even remember why, I just remember really disliking it.

How I met Your Mother a season or two ago. I just don't care anymore, can't even be bothered to care about the finale.

Being Human UK in season 4. I just didn't care after they killed most of the original characters. Same thing with Misfits, except the new characters on there were just awful. Rudy was a poor substitute for Nathan.

I completely skipped seasons 5 and 6 of Skins because I heard they were just awful.

I thought about dropping Glee because I couldn't give less of a fuck about anything going on in the high school. But since next season is the last and will be completely focused on the NY stuff I'll stick around.

homeland - boring. did not even finish season 1.

person of interest - boring-ish. episodic is fine but really most of the time it'll be him winning.

walking dead - just lost interest in it for some reason. probably after watching breaking bad.

dexter - meh. i've always skimmed through the episodes anyway.

justified - could not even finish episode 1 because of that cowboy hat.

That's nuts. I actually stopped a couple of episodes into season 2. Picked up Season 3 and 4 on Blu around a year later when they came out and got back into it (wound up falling in love). The girlfriend and I couldn't get enough of los Pitbull brothers. S3 is when the show really comes into it's own.

Lost-after season 3/4: Dropped it once the outcome became too obvious.

Dexter-after season 3...?: Very disappointed this show got so stupid so fast.

Sons of Anarchy- Watched some episodes. It started feeling like it was one of those bad and cheesy day time soap operas where it revolves around catty gossip... but with beefy bikers.

Mad Men- after season 3ish: Surprised I made it that far. At least other shows tried going somewhere, this just remained monotonous both in story and character development.

True Blood- season 3ish: Caught a few episodes off S3 and couldn't handle more stupid. S2 was stupid enough.

Fringe-season 4: Loved S1-4, very solid seasons. S5 seemed 'meh' and just haven't bothered wanting to go back to see what happens.

Walking Dead- ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Office (US): Whatever season it was that Jim/Pam happened. Didn't help that I cannot stand Steve Carell. The rest of the cast made it tolerable until then.

Heroes
Glee
True Blood
Revolution
Rescue Me - though I did eventually go back and finish the 1 1/2 seasons I skipped out on to conclude the series and am glad I did.

The Walking Dead - Stopped after S3 and that's considering I missed half of season 3 episodes and I only saw the second half of season 2.

Dexter - After season 4

Yeah, I stopped Breaking Bad too, after about a season and a half. Could just never get into it.

I'm actually wondering right now whether to go on with BSG. I'm two seasons in and although I've mostly enjoyed the show, I haven't been blown away.
My two main complaints are the lack of interaction between the humans and Cylons (personal interaction rather than the fighting, which they obviously do lots of) and the lack of levity in the show. I could use some comic relief now and then. The thing with the Cylons is, the credits say, "they have a plan", but I feel like I'm maybe 1% closer to finding out about the plan than when I started. Am I going to get answers? Good ones?
Should I keep going?

Mad Men - Watched the first 4 or so seasons (stopped at the one where Peggy quits. It's a good show but so slow and boring at times that I couldn't bring myself to watch the next season.

Community - Watched lots of Season 1 but just lost interest I guess although I could see myself going back at some point (long shot though).

Mentalist - Gave up after he kills Red John.

Shows I'm probably sticking with to the end:

HIMYM - Last few seasons didn't provide the laughs it used to but I'm too invested and it's so close to the end to give up now.

Walking Dead - Wow, this show gets a lot of hate on GAF. I get the characters can be annoying but it's still a fun show with great moments so I can't see myself stopping now. I do wonder if everyone that said Walking Dead has really dropped it. I seem to recognize some posters here from the Walking Dead thread for this season.

Dropped:
24
Heroes
Glee
Homeland
The Office after Michael left (watched the finale)

Shows I wish I dropped, but didn't out of obligation:
Weeds
Rescue Me(except for the last season I guess)

Ding ding ding.

Mods should change the name of the thread to "Shows you hate but still watch religiously."

I dropped it. I missed an episode early this season and I haven't had the urge to go back and catch up. Maybe during the summer when there is nothing on I'll check it out.

Walking Dead - Stopped watching somewhere around season 2? It's not a terrible show, I just don't find it very interesting. I find the survival aspect compelling and the show barely every touches on that. When they do it is just in passing so they can spend more time being complete idiots.

Daily Show - I used to watch every show. Now I watch maybe once a week. I've gotten tired of their terrible correspondants. Jessica Williams is just the worst.

Walking Dead about two episodes from the S3 finale. Terrible show that I should have dropped in S2 when they spent half the season looking for a child.

-Homeland after the S1 finale where the writers set a coward's precedent.

-Heroes early in S4

-Dexter early in season 5.

-The Following, Defiance, Falling Skies, Big Love and Low Winter Son after a few episodes.

-Californication after they neutered Moody.

You can probably go ahead and add Resurrection to the list.

The Walking Dead

It was a godawful show before, but after the S4 mid-season finale I just pretty much lost interest. Didn't even realize the show is back on now until like last week when I saw the thread here. Watched the first episode of this season's second half and saw that it was about mostly Carl and Rick fumbling about, said nope and stopped watching. There's honestly too much good stuff on tv these days to be wasting time on crap that never lives up to it's potential.

The Walking Dead.

About two thirds of the way through season 1 there was an episode that literally had TWO zombies in it. That was enough for me. I was out.
Seems I made the right decision.

It's cool to hate popular things.

I definitely agree with Community though, last season was terrible and the few episodes I caught from this season weren't much better. Revolution and the Following are some other recent examples.

It's also cool to hate terrible things.

Anyways,

The Walking Dead - don't know why I put up with it for as long as I did, went off a cliff after episode 1 of season 1.

Dexter - again, put up with something for too long, until the end of season 7 and skipped straight to the last episode of season 8. My brother and I laughed our asses off at least.

Bleach - BORING

Walking Dead - Gave up at some point during season 2. It became rather uninteresting, to the point I couldn't care less if any of the characters died.

Prison Break - First episode of season 4 was the final straw, but I really should have stopped after season 2. All goes downhill from there.

Fringe - Loved the first four seasons, and was one of the best sci-fi shows I've personally seen. Really didn't care for the new plotline of season 5, and I didn't care for the new characters.

Six Feet Under - Loved the first 2 seasons. But things started to get rather silly during season 3, felt really off compared the first two.
