We wanted a Geodude or Machop to handle Jupiter's Skuntank. We also wanted a Bronzor cause Bronzor is useful in general. We ended up catching the Bronzor, but it literally has no attacks that can damage the skuntank. Our other two slots are now wasted by a useless zubat and Bidoof, and we have no way of beating Jupiter. Then once we do find a way to beat her, we're gonna have an inevitable PC shuffle for mons we actually do want. And to top it off we're catching a ton of more mons which will make any PC shuffle we attempt even more difficult. We're so fucked.

Pretty much. This team has no identity, has a terrible move set, and has essentially no chance in becoming something decent until we either get democracy or somehow manage to catch something worthwhile.

Bronzor is useless on this Jupiter fight and will likely get lost in the ensuing PC shuffle. Zubat is never evolving to Crobat.

We've never had a team this crippled by lack of evolution, bad typing, repeat pokemon, and horrible move sets, though. Also, there appears to be a lot less of a clear plan this time around. If stuff doesn't go our way, most people just focus on betting in the stadium.

Edit: Holy crap how terrible is this team?!? We did everything pretty much perfectly except one missed move and yet barely did anything to the skunk's health. We need like 10-20 more levels for just about everybody.

Emerald, first gym we spent SOO much time on Roxanne and Wattson. So what we had decent pokemon (with CRAPPY moves), we couldnt touch either of them in the same way we cant touch Skuntank

And we managed to do that primarily because of shedinja. We'd already evolved twice at that point and had pretty good moves like rollout by then. We're in much worse shape right now.
