That is June through September every year where I grew up. With 90%+ humidity pretty much every day since it is on the coast. Lived there until 10 years ago and got fed up with the heat and humidity and moved up by the mountains where there's seasons.

I lived in a sweaty town and the one thing I enjoyed about trips abroad was the breeze, most of European countries don't have the humidity, just the heat during the day

No shit, I took the underground to kings cross / st pancras yesterday and the mf was like riding in a big metal armpit.

I don't miss those days. Working in London in the summer I would choose to walk from Charing Cross into work.

Speaking of which classic summer train maybe you get AC on the train but it's winter and maybe the heat is left on and it's summer

Those "scorching hot red" areas look like 30 and below which is 86F. I'd call that a pleasantly warm day.

Apparently Europe is currently in the depths of hell with that color scheme, but it's all temperatures people pay the outrageously big bucks for to live in California.

You need to keep in mind that the vast majority of houses and apartment buildings in Europe don't have any air conditioning whatsoever. Temps inside can often rise to be almost as hot as the ones outside during prolonged heat waves and when its 85F in your home, it does not feel good at all.

I haven't taken it in a while but the Elizabeth line felt like the future I swear it had AC. Speaking of things looking like the future the DLR looks rubbish now.

The train prices in the UK are too high it's a piss take.
Ten years ago I paid nearly 3k a year just to use the train to get to work and not the underground or the bus. wtf
Sorry public transport rant. I don't live in London anymore but the memories remain

We moved down to Bath and sometimes the missus or the lad wants to get the train back. Absolute piss take prices, it's disgusting what they're charging. You'd think you'd bought a ticket on the Orient Express.

i would split tickets and book off peak.
But even that didn't save loads.

I hope the train situation improves the other thing I used was national express. Cheap as chips. But some journeys take a while. Especially when you enter in London

The color scheme illustrates the gap with expected temperatures at this time of the year. 30C is nothing to worry about in August, it's a big anomaly in May where it should be around 20C. The map would be the same shade of red if we had 20C in January
