My my, you really are gunning for me aren't you? Funny how everywhere I go, online or in real life, the same type of bullies always seem to flock to me. Must be my karma or something.
Even if someone like you would disagree with me or find my ideas stupid, I still wonder why you would resort to hostility and rudeness only to be able to point this out. Doesn't really make this place any better, does it?
And on-topic: Captain Commando, while cool, already is featured in MvC so he probably won't be a candidate. Future Ken would be cool and also a possibility.
I'm not saying it would be overpowered Just the 50/50 on wake up would be annoying.

I was initially thinking it might be Gunloc, but then they said the character has never been in a fighting game before. Slam Masters is a fighting game though, which immediately eliminates everyone in that series... unless they stretch it and say they were wrestling games.. but they really played like fighters.
He was in SvC: Chaos. So I doubt it.
You already have Q. He is in 3rd strike. Why do you want rehashes of what you already have?

Really hope the 5th character is someone really unique and interesting.
So many great characters and they just copy and paste some of the most boring choices from SFXT :/. Besides poison, I've never found Rolento, Elena or Hugo at all interesting.
So many other great Alpha/Third Strike characters we couldve gotten, or better yet cameos. I'd honestly take Violent Ken, Buttflustered Dan and Miffed Gouken over those 3.
As for the 5th, I'd love to see Go Hibiki, Gouken/Akuma's master, or some other obscure but unique one.

I'm just not buying into the whole both ultras thing, in spite of it being mentioned by a couple of the pros. Given the balance changes mentioned so far and the general balance approach Combofiend / Capcom seem to be taking it just makes no sense to include a system like this that would be so blatantly broken (even with a damage nerf) and ruin that balance they are going for.

I hope Capcom is planning for a long period of playtesting in arcades before the console release and has budgeted for at least one post-release balance patch. Between five new characters, a total rebalance, and system changes, there are a whole lot of moving pieces. The last thing I want to see is a repeat of 3S-style "balance" in a final iteration.

The clues are:
Its a Capcom character;
It isn't Asura or Bad Boxart Mega Man;
Never been in a fighting game ever, this will be their first;
It's a character that isn't on anyones radar;
The character will be a perfect fit for the SF universe.

I wish the game mechanic change was nerfing the reversal window. I fired this game up after 2 years and people were still just mashing reversals like it was nothing. Make it actually take some timing =/

With all the info, are we pretty much at the point where we can safely say that this won't be a preexisting character from another game(Jill Valentine, Megaman, etc)? It's someone from the SF universe that just hasn't been a selectable character yet?

Hmmm, what Capcom character fits this description? Hope it's not Ryu's master's master, although it could be because he'd be easier to add in.
That's not really an issue with "reversal" timing as much as it is with input leniency in general. I wouldn't mind going back to the ST days of requiring precision input timing, but it would change SF4 significantly.

He's got Street Fighterish moves. But wasn't the reason he wasn't in MVC3 because he would of caused a M rating? Probably isn't him

I don't and I love Gene. There's no way you could capture Gene correctly in SF4. MvC3 was the perfect avenue for that.

I don't think it was that. I think it's because Gene has a lot of humiliating moves, like kicking people in the crotch and spanking their asses. An M rating didn't really have much to do with it compared to Marvel probably not wanting their guys looking dumb.

Capcom said Nemesis and Tyrant were too gruesome for vanilla marvel so, but Nemesis was in UMVC3.
