Ultra Street Fighter IV trailer

From the panel, it REALLY seems like the new character is one that people know well, or else people wouldn't get hype over it. Them seem to be hyping it up a lot in that regard. Also, with the way Ono answered the question, seems more likely than not that it's an existing character.

This is really the most perplexing tease ever.

The joke is that SF3 is not a street fighter game.

... maybe the character is Ono.

Street Fighter needs a blind warrior similar to Kenshi. It would be sweet to get the one armed(because he is bored and better than you) Oro back, but that ain't happening. That spirit bomb special he had just proved that you don't want him to use both arms.

Yea, it seems to be Akuma but it was sorta retconned. Also Shen Long is Gouken, no? Or the character that would later become Gouken.

Shen Long is the "shoryu" from shoryuken mistakenly read as if it were a Chinese name. Americans had fun with the idea for years before it became a real thing.

It's also the dragon in DBZ.

Yep, Akuma and Gouken are both inspired by the old Sheng Long rumors. Gouken's design is based on a couple of old EGM April Fool's features, right down to the scar over his left eye and long white hair held together at the end with a prayer bead.

Has to be Digital Akuma then. Cyber Akuma's next form. Or Cloud Akuma or w/e is the hottest buzzword is nowadays.

Really don't think its Goutetsu or Go Hibiki (people wouldn't really get hype over either). Maybe Goutetsu because he's a bit better known and canon-relevant.

This time, I really think I've got it!

The 5th character is DAMND from Final Fight!

(I love this group shot!)

Think about it, he fits all of these categories (especially the last two):

The clues are:

Its a Capcom character;

It isn't Asura or Bad Boxart Mega Man;

Never been in a fighting game ever, this will be their first;

It's a character that isn't on anyones radar;

The character will be a perfect fit for the SF universe.

And the one stating that he/she should be related to Street Fighter. He also fits the current additions of Hugo and Poison particularly well!

And most importantly: his very name would probably increase the age rating to M (assuming that is a real thing).

Not to brag, but I really think this could be it guys! I'd certainly welcome him seeing as he IS quite an obscure but also iconic character due to being the first boss in FF and the face of the Mad Gear Gang (more so than Belger imo). He's also from the Dominican Republic, meaning more variety when it comes to the cast's origin. And to top it off, he is already present in the Mad Gear stage (which oddly enough might increase his chances instead of decrease them since a lot of the stages now feature selectable characters). If they manage to incoporate his whistling to call for help (resulting in further FF cameos), that would be very cool as well!

To give you an idea about his possible movement style:

(Or watch it actually be the Oh my car! guy...or the car...)

Also:

Well that was rude. No reason to be mean like that. And I don't think it was a stupid idea.

Oh well. I don't really have anything to add to this topic, just wanted to respond to this.

Edit: Don't let it get you sad if people act rude/mean to you like this.

Thank you, I'll try not to as long as there are also nice people like you around :-)

You get hype for Iron Man in Marvel though. Just saying...your perception is skewed when it comes to public opinion about hype.

Are you sure about that? Gôken first appeared in Kanzaki's Street Fighter II - Ryû, and that series began back in 1991, before the April's Fool thing.
I don't believe details such as the scar could be seen in that April's Fool article either.

I'm already readying the popcorn so that i have plenty for when this character is revealed. It's going to be glorious :)

After looking through the title list for Capcom games and main characters that could be fleshed out its looking more and more like its gonna be someone from the Final Fight universe. The only other games I can think of are some of their lesser known beat em ups. I dont know for all we know it could be Hannah Dundee from Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. or hell what about Linn Kurosawa from AvP. That would be wishful thinking but amazing nonetheless.

Belger, that dirty dirty old son of a gun lol (that's Belger on the bottom right, isn't it?)

Also Goutetsu is probably about right. They already threw canon out the window when they brought back Bison and Gouken and had Sakura come back in a school uniform, might as well go the whole way.
